“I visited the center today with my family for the first time. I was impressed with the beautiful, well-maintained variety of gardens. Walking trails in the woods are easy and pretty. The buildings and statues were historic and lovely. The peacock roaming the grounds was a bonus. Lots of butterflies and birds. Currently, they have a special Lego display event that is wonderful to see—plenty of parking. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable. We spent about 2 & ½ hours there but could have spent more time in the mansion (main house). The website is very detailed.”

“The grounds are lovely, in a tranquil park-like setting. It is set back from the main roads so you don't hear traffic but it's close enough to Rock Creek Trail and local parks that it doesn't feel desolate. We worked with Amelia Haeger at Parklawn and she made a very difficult time easier. She is unfailingly professional and empathetic. She does everything in her power to make the process run smoothly. (Amelia's colleagues, from the office manager to the groundskeepers were also very gracious.) There were significant delays in the monuments being produced and delivered due to supply chain problems. While we were not happy about the delays, we understood that it was truly out of their control. Amelia gave us updates as they were available. We were finally able to hold a ceremony for my Mom and Amelia did a lovely job hosting. Amelia met with me after the service to make sure we were doing well. She was very thorough in explaining visiting hours, placing flowers and holiday decorations, and how to reach the staff for assistance. It sounds like some other folks had issues with their counselors but we definitely did not. Amelia was wonderful to work with.”

“Was looking for a stop and saw the clean bathrooms sign. We really enjoyed the stop it’s a country store plus they have a bunch of animals to see like the parrot who was super friendly and talkative and bunnies, goats, etc. They sold things like Garlic stuffed olives and pickles asparagus as well as fried pies and fried chocolate covered peanuts. It was a random stop but I’m glad we made it.”

Unfortunately they don't clean the snow and if they did, they didn't do a good job since it's very slippery and it snowed a day ago when other places already cleaned this parking lot has not. So if you're looking for parking when it's not snowing or raining this would be ok. Otherwise maybe park where they either clean or indoors would be better.”

“It was my first time in this amazing space and despite knowing from what I can see what I expected to experience, I found it quiet enjoyable. They have this really kid friendly space with a lot of activities, some of which adults can enjoy. We loved watching our little niece run around trying all the little attractions. We especially enjoyed playing shooting hoops, touring the animal farm, seeing a llama for the first time etc. The food there and drinks are delicious too!. Tried their apple cider slush which was awesome! Both donuts we sampled were delicious even the pumpkin flavored one (which was surprising!). Next time will try their cider donuts lol. The vibe was lively even with the chilly weather. It was nice to see people and their children going around and enjoying themselves. Mind you this was and still is just a field though with some little attractions. Kind of hit me that despite how modern our world is right now, there are simple joys to be found in places like this. Corny but true. 10/10 would come back again next year!”
