“I feel like I’ve driven by this place so many times over the years and it’s always caught my eye, but haven’t gotten a chance to stop in until tonight and boy am I glad I did! One of the Owners: Darren was incredibly friendly in welcoming us and walking us through their concept and their menu (super nice guy and some of the best customer service I’ve encountered in some time). Basically yes this is a poke place, so if that’s what your in the mood for you will definitely like this: but what I love most is their incredibly unique menu which is far from what your used to… the variety of proteins and fish were on another level (most I’d never even seen in raw form before) which was super cool and literally everything about this place was about sustainability and best practices all around. They literally knew exactly where every single ingredient they served came from (stuff was even labeled as such like striped bass from xyz farm in Colorado etc etc) which was super unique. And also you can very much tell that these guys go out of their way to support local: from the stuff they sell to the art on their building just about everything I saw was local, which was neat… And to top it all off the food was extremely good and reasonably priced… I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place and how much I loved the service we received as well as the conversation we had with one of the owners who was obviously very passionate about what they do and just seemed like an all around good guy. It’s no surprise that these guys have been around nearly 6years at this point and have so many 5 star reviews. I’ve only been once but I’m already a huge fan! “Baba ganoush was fresh and full of flavor. I got the beef shawarma sandwich for lunch and my wife got the chicken shawarma sandwich. Both were extremely flavorful. The host/waitress was welcoming and responsive. We will definitely be back. Fair pricing as well. I would add if you want a sandwich, you may want an appetizer or side if you are really hungry.”

“Made reservations for dinner. A table was waiting when we arrived. The service was quick and friendly. The appetizer was delicious and cooked perfectly. The timing on food delivery was also great. Our server took time to chat with us, which has become a rare occasion nowadays. The restaurant atmosphere was a blend of classic Thai and modern eatery. It is located in a busier part of town, so make sure to arrive early if you need parking. Ideally, walk or uber over.”

“I found Hop Alley on Instagram claiming that it was the top Chinese restaurant in Denver. Since being from NY I had to go and test this theory for myself and it did not disappoint. Everything my friend and I ordered was delicious and plated pretty! Super friendly staff and great atmosphere! Make sure you make a reservation in advance so glad that I did!”

“I was very excited to finally try this place and was very disappointed. The service was mediocre and it took a very long time to get our food. A friend of the staff came in after us and got his food well before us. I ordered poached eggs and they came fried or basted (not sure) and the waffles were crumbly and dry. There were lumps of unincorporated sugar and flour. There was also some sort of plastic in my food. It was before 10am and they were out of coffee and didn't want to make more. The bathrooms were dirty and didn't have soap to wash your hands. None of the kitchen staff had their hair pulled back or restrained.”

“We went to Chook for the first time this afternoon to grab some lunch after the farmers market. We ordered chicken with a side of breaded mac and a salad to-go. Unfortunately, they completely left out the mac and cheese. For the price we paid, it’s crazy that their service is so bad they left out an entire part of the meal we paid for.”

“Absolutely amazing cuisine. The meat was cooked extremely well and the sides were very delicious. My wife had the steak and it was cooked to perfection and she truly enjoyed it. We also had the break for the appetizer and it was great. I suggest trying this restaurant as they are wonderful. The wait staff (Larine) was so attentive and polite. I am so glad that my wife found this place.”

“Supercute building, with an extensive menu of Italian deliciousness (my favourite!) I loved the al dente cook on my orecchiette + broccoli rabe & sausage, but it was a little soupy and the light garlic sauce wasn't sticking to anything - adding the marinara from our shared toasted ravioli made it *perfect* I'll look forward to trying more of the menu on further Denver adventures! Nice selection of beers and craft NA beverages to choose from. Cute patio (and coming from Texas, I *love* that the weather is pleasant enough to even make patio seating a consideration!!) but the neighborhood is, ummm, *interesting*”
