Good location with shops around and the park walking distance. They had kanagroo on the menu but I didn't partake. The staff was busy but very attentive and kind.”

“What a fabulous experience! We had a large group and they set us in a beautiful private room. We all got the three course degustation, and our waitress was able to recommend wine to match for entree, main and dessert. “My partner and I visited for dinner a couple of nights ago. It was a wonderful experience from the atmosphere to delicious food! For entrees we had the carrot sponge and beef with lions mane mushrooms. I love fine dining but it was a first for my partner. He loved the spices and flavours in his carrot sponge and I was blown away by the subtle smokiness and marbling of the beef. For mains, I had the toothfish, and my partner had the wagyu steak. My dish was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten - the flesh was rich buttery and flaky without being overly fishy. The umami laden brith had a great twang of sweetness and acidity and the inclusion of a deeply cooked daikon radish slice brought it to life. The fish was topped with crispy fried enoki mushrooms and a black rice crisp. Wow! Utterly delicious! My partner loved his steak too - it was served in a sour peruvian chili paste with a quenelle of butter mash atop a field mushroom. He loved his dish and particularly commented on the perfect cooking of the steak combined with the sour chili. For desserts, I had the earl grey sponge and my partner went for the strawberry and pepper dessert. His was outstanding - there was a rich matcha cremeaux served along the cake which was one of the most beautiful things either of us have tasted. My dessert was a cracker too - mild and floral but had an interesting play on textures. The earl grey cake was topped with a mildly honey scented custard creme, and topped with a dish of perfectly short crust. The center had been hollowed out and filled with caramel pear cubes. I enjoyed the sorbet' was a bit wary of an over- scented lavender sorbet however it was very subtle. I struggled to find the lavender notes! The wait staff throught the meal were excellent as well. The female waiter who greeted us was very warm and helpful. We were also served by a male waiter who towncrier-esque called out the recommended dishes. It was fast, energetic and casual, which helped my partner feel more at home in an environment which he was unfamiliar with (and feeling nervous about). All in all, a wonderful night! I recommend the toothfish :)”

“Our visit to the European was less than pleasant, as firstly the waitress tried to sit us down at the worst table although the restaurant was empty. Upon some insistence we were allotted something better. Having said that Sitting in a corridor with a continuous draught is not a pleasant dining experience. Wine list terribly expensive with very few Australian wines by the glass, of rather mediocre value. Scorchingly hot prices for a glass of so called premium wines. Table setting with cloth napkins sitting on frayed timber top tables combined with cutlery which one can find in op shops made a poor impression of general neglect. Napkins and decent restaurant grade well polished cutlery sitting on a clean side plate is the standard norm for a classy restaurant. Being a vegetarian I had a very poor choice to pick from the menu. My wife had the Octopus entree which should have had Mojo as per the menu, alas turned out rubbery and chewy. Her order for an aged porterhouse steak which was presented drowned in pepper sauce was tough and sinewy. My sauteed spinach totally lacking in flavour, and Gnocchi was passable. Had to ask for parmesan, which should be served on auto mode at a quality eating establishment. We brought to attention the issue with the tough steak, which was swapped over without any fuss for a schnitzel served with an enormous mound of coleslaw and huge serve of chips. The serving size and presentation reminded me of plates at some Oktoberfest in Germany. Conclusively there is nothing to rave about this joint, it is all over rated in the reviews. Surprisingly the only good thing tonight was the green side salad that we had ordered with our steak. Crisp, cool and full of flavour with a refreshing dressing. Restaurant wait staff seemed more interested in having a good time gossiping than attending to customers. The service attitude borders on being too casual to a bit offish. Definitely this is not an elegant place to dine out for a special occassion, and most definitely if one is a vegetarian please don't bother coming here. My rating below Average for this joint, as for what you will spend here does not reply good value for money.”

“High end service with pleasant and respectful staff, without feeling snobby. Just enough French accents, music and French decorations to make you feel like you have escaped Sydney. The food was magnifique and we were surprised by the great flavours, beautiful presentatio and the generous sizes. Their menu has just enough choices without feeling overwhelming (though we tried more than we could handle) and good drinks menu. Surprisingly busy even for a weekday, and they run out of parking quickly in the back (also very tight and only 1 car entry/ exit at a time). Highly recommend.”
