“Went out with family for bf brother’s birthday. We were seated next to the door so we were totally frozen. Asked to be moved to one of the empty tables and they refused. I had a burger with Caesar salad which was fine. My bf though had a 32$ steak, asked for medium well and got a piece of overdone boot leather… his veggies were cold too. Service was good but we were disappointed that they didn’t accommodate us when we told our waitress that we wanted to move tables.”

“We had a great family lunch today at this cosy little family restaurant. Our server was very attentive, warm and welcoming, the food was above expectations. The place looks like an art gallery so 5 stars for the atmosphere. All of our little quirks found a proper and accommodating response from the staff. I loved the steak with the lobster tail add-on. The desserts were made from scratch on spot and were pretty good. And something I would add as feedback (and this is typical to lots of North America based joints that lack the European espresso culture, I know this is minuscule but still) I ordered a double espresso and got a Lungo. The server was so nice I didn't say anything cause it was a perfect lunch and we all had such a great time. The owner (Bill's son) a guys in his 60s came around a few times and checked if everything is ok, which made us fell important. I would definitely come again, it was a great choice -next time we'll go for the Lobster risotto :)”

We started with truffle Parmesan and then I ordered the sourdough avocado toast with a poached egg/egg whites. Also tried the Turkey Club House with a side of Caesar Salad. We’re definitely going back to explore their dinner menu. Although the bill came to $90, which is a bit pricey for a brunch spot, we truly enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe.”

“Very attentive and cordial staff. We sat at the bar in front of the kitchen where we could see the dedication with which the dishes are prepared. We started with a delicious bloody mary accompanied by three dishes: fried chicken that was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, a bread with blue cheese with a subtle and salty taste and a third dish where the star ingredient was corn prepared in different ways. To finish we shared a delicious dessert ahh caramel. Everything was exquisite. Three dishes to share between two people is more than enough. Vegetarian options available. This is our second visit and we will definitely return.”

“We visited at the recommendation of friends and as we have a gift card. The place sure is popular and I do give 5 stars to all the pastries. Interior decor is lovely. Once we sat at the table service was wonderful. My boyfriend also loved the chicken confit he ordered. However my biggest complaint is that when there were clearly a few 2-person tables available in sight for quite a while, nobody came to lead us to any table when there were 2 larger groups in front of us. We waited and waited and after eventually losing patience had to find the servers ourselves to ask if they could give us one of the empty tables and they did. This is just unimaginable to me… they have such a long line of customers waiting and not a reservation system but instead a registration book - what was the point of the registration if no one even bothered to look at it to match the group size to available tables?? While I loved my dessert, I didn’t appreciate the Egg Benedict at all and feel that it’s overrated. It was so bland and really nothing special at all. Would only come back for the bakery!”

Facing the front there’s a walkway to the left that will lead you to a porch with an outdoor patio with hanging lights. We really appreciated our experience at Candide. From the locally sourced produce and livestock to the every changing menu you have to appreciate their mission to provide the best available options in a sustainable manner. From beginning to end our four course meal provided hit after hit. There were no bad plates and we made sure to clean our plates as best as possible. We were extremely satisfied after our last bite and would definitely consider going back the next time we visit Montreal.”

“Nice littel restaurant in Terrebonne. Well located in a lively area. We ate on the terrasse ajacent to the restaurant. They have another in front of the restaurant (in the street) as it is a pedestrian mall. The service was a bit slow as it was a saturday night and they were quite busy. We had the burrata, ceasar salad and pizza. The entrées came quickly but the pizza took a while. In the end they did not charge us for the second glass of wine I had. I would go back as the food and atmoshere was good.”

“Items Ordered -Assiete de Charcuterie -Salt Spring Island Mussels Pot -Duck Breast (Highly Recommend) -Braised Beef (Highly Recommend) -Crème Brûlée Dining Experience: Bread and butter was brought to the table as per most French Restaurant practices. (Summary of this review can be found below) Started off with the charcuterie. The charcuterie was very delicious, everything on the charcuterie plate meld together wonderfully in terms of flavour and texture. Saltspring Island Mussels were also ordered to the table, the mussels were cooked perfectly with their plump and sweet flesh intact with no signs of mushiness. The sauce the mussels were cooked in was very delicious and the bread soaking up the sauces was very flavourful. The fibrous “beards” of the mussels were removed as well showing great care and attention by the chef. The Duck Breast and Braised Beef were the highlights of the dining experience. The duck breast exhibited a crispy lightly salted exterior that was so flavourful, the meat was not dry and was quite perfect. The duck breast was not too chewy which means it was cooked perfectly! I am personally not a fan of duck due to my previous experiences at other places, but the way they cooked it here made me a believer again! Converted to the Church of Duck and singing Hallelujah! 🙏 Braised Beef with the truffle potato puree was super delicious and every bite was full of flavour. We then had crème brûlée for dessert. The crème brûlée was very typical and pleasant. However, one can skip the crème brûlée and feel comfort in knowing they did not miss out on anything. Service: Service is excellent, no complaints. They were very friendly and attentive. Overall Summary: Fantastic food, focus on substance is a big factor in this restaurant. Do not miss out on the Braised Beef and Duck Breast. Restaurant is located in a strange industrial area and the interior is cramped, but no fault of the restaurant, the food is the main focus and they do show it! However, the location does make it a “hole in the wall” which adds to the charm! Especially for you young folks are into the instagram and want to appear unique by dining at those slightly hidden places. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. However, dessert can be skipped as it is typical and generic. Thank you for reading!”
