“We stayed in Bourg-en-Bresse for one night and are so happy we choose this restaurant to dine at. The two servers went above and beyond to accommodate us given we speak no French. We arrived over 30 minutes late and were still accommodated. We were also allowed to bring our little dog which was really important for us. The burgers are huge and delicious! And you get both fries and sweet potatoes fries with your burger!! Service was also really fast! All plates and glasses are unique which gives the place a funky hipster feel. The desserts are exceptional. To top it off, you get to choose a lollipop from a lollipop stand and a free shot of liquor after your meal. Prices were more than fair and there are meal options if you wish to have a drink, burger and dessert. The Christmas beer on tap was also really nice!”

“We booked our table after a friend's recommendation. The restaurant is next to the market at Places des Carmes. It has a a cool urban vibe. The tables were filled with a very diverse clientele. The food is really good, but sometimes a bit too sweet. Some more sour and bitter in the dishes would be nice. Very curious to visit again and taste how the kitchen evolves! Kudos to the team!”

Really cool mix of French style dishes and some fusion elements like leek sushi or deep fried pork belly and soy glaze. Lots of places in France (like the others on the same street) serve traditional food which is great, but so so nice to have something a bit different too. Also went there for some cider whilst exploring the basilica and chateau on another day. Would very much recommend!”

“Nice little corner bistro with very friendly staff. The lunch menu was our good by meal in Paris this year. Value for money is fully given, the meals are huge and you should be very hungry to eat there. As mains we had the smoked salmon with spinach and the duck. The duck was a little dry but generally tasty. The spinach with the salmon was the better choice this time, even if I would have wished for a little less of the salmon. The desserts where the best we had in France so far. Nice place and we would come again in the future. Smaller servings would be not bad so that we can try the starter the next time”

“Underway from Spain to Belgium on the A9 and my son decided he was into a steak. I did some googeling and found a restaurant “ chez franck”.. Reservation by phone started with someone who asked for my name, and then used it as if i was a regular. You feel welcome. When arriving ( early) at the restaurant we didn’t knew what expect. The menu is on the plaid on the table. First thing you notice are the prices. Getting worried because really attractive ( not to say cheap) pricing. Would this be any good? We order entrecôte , salads and fries etc. First of all, small warning, the fries are not what the Dutch and Belgians are used ( so the mega crispy variation) . This is hand made. But the most important, the meat… Sorry for the wording.. WTH..?!? Perfect meat, perfectly prepared, perfect taste ( and yes without arrogance we know our meats). The owner appears to be a famous rugby player. I don’t like restaurants that are from “ famous people” that are never there and ripp you off. Well the guy is here, and he is friendly, works together with his very friendly team , and is running a great restaurant. The Micheling guide gave in Thailand to a few non standard restaurants a michelin star. And really, I regret we had no more time.. But this restaurant is worth a detour and is now on my favorite list!! Please go there!”
