La Vache! Soho

Closed until 12:00 PM

48 Peel St, Central, Hong Kong

“Their fries are fresh and crispy with delicious seasonings and awesome taste. However, the steaks were overcooked( medium served on a candle heated metallic plate), felt a bit dry, hard and not juicy enough, medium rare is strongly recommended. Green salad was okay, average level. Desert was overpriced.”

Shop 401, Landmark Atrium, 15 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong

“-Bread is not good as we expected, a bit crowed inside. -Signature disk (i.e. Caviar Jelly, Mashed Potatoes) is perfect as expected -Mashed potatoes just like a warm ice-cream, cannot imagine the texture like this. Very tasty. -Cocktail is not this strength. -Napoleon cake is the best one I had compared with another hotel. Must revisit again for this”

“Very nice decorations, it is all consistent even in the toilet. But food is average, not disappointing but also nothing interesting. More like a place to take photos. Good thing about this place -it is quiet and tables have quite some space between so no interruption from others”

Hong Kong, 尖沙咀彌敦道19-21號半島酒店1樓

“We had an amazing Chef’s Table experience at Chef Albin Gibil’s Gaddi’s. Albin and his team made the experience extra special by including a guided tour of the kitchen, as well as explaining every detail of the menu. Throughout the evening, Albin’s love and passion for the high-quality ingredients and the right way to prepare them was very apparent. Our favourite dishes were the Dover Sole and the Langoustines. We had talked about booking this experience for many years and were happy to have celebrated this together with a good friend. There are not too many places left where you can actually sit in the kitchen and follow along every step of your dinner preparation. A memorable experience.”

“I am lucky enough to get invited by a good friend to this restaurant for a New Year’s Eve dinner. The overall experience is excellent and I am very impressed by the chef’s participation in serving and interacting with the guests. However there’s definitely room for improvement, for example, the waitress does not know chef’s culinary philosophy is definitely a problem. When we ask such question, she answered the chef does not have any philosophy, even if this is true, I would suggest the restaurant cultivate their staff a bit more so that there’s a good story to tell and sets a good tone for the dining experience. The food there is of good quality, you can sense the chef has put in good thoughts, was quite impressed by the smoking Peking duck, which is the highlight of the dinner. The texture and flavor of this dish is definitely hit full score. Lastly, the ambiance of this restaurant is very cozy, a dark elegance note reveals the chef’s discreet style.”

31/F, V Point, 18 Tang Lung St, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

“Located on the 31st floor with an amazing night view. Food is French/Italian with an Asian twist. Ordered scallop carpaccio (average), smoked steak tartare (a bit sweet), grilled lamb chops (pre-cut into dice but still juicy), and beef wellington (exceptional!). For dessert we ordered toffee pudding but it’s apparently microwaved before served - some parts were soft while some were weirdly hard. The place has been quite empty compared to the other restaurants on the same street. Only 4 tables for the whole night. Guess it’s due to its less easy-to-access location and the higher price range. Points to note: - The venue is popular among wedding parties or private dinner so do remember to make a reservation to confirm it is open on the day you wish to visit.”

“I had the pleasure of dining at L'Envol recently and it was a truly delightful experience. The staff was attentive and friendly. While I thoroughly enjoyed the food, I must admit that the portion sizes left me wanting just a little bit more. However, each plate was a work of art, beautifully arranged and visually stunning. I wholeheartedly recommend L'Envol for any business lunch or special fine dining occasion. The combination of exceptional service, delectable cuisine, and remarkable food presentation makes it a great choice.”

Shop C, G/F, Tung Cheung Bldg. 1, 11 Second St, Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong

“A small cosy restaurant serving amazing testing menu. The food was exceptional, their wine selection even by glass ones was excellent. Their food is mainly western but with a bit of an asian twist which we then realized the chef was from the Philippine so he added some of his culture into some dishes. Only comment was that the testing menu wasn’t enough to make us full. Overall had a wonderful dining experience here, highly recommended”

Harbour City, Shop OTE401, Ocean Terminal, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

“Gorgeous view but flawed service. Our first impression of this brilliantly located restaurant was mixed. The receptionist didn’t seem to understand that we had a reservation but were simply turning up an hour early to enjoy some pre-dinner drinks. That’s okay, it happens. She took us to one of their outdoor lounges where the seats were wet. Luckily we spotted it before sitting and so changed to their outdoor table seating instead. The view is simply stunning from their large outdoor terrace. Their drinks are reasonably priced for this class of restaurant, and were well made, albeit some confusion when I insisted that I wanted an olive in my martini, not a twist of lemon, and this doesn’t make it a dirty martini. All fun! As the rest of our guests arrived, with the rumbling of thunder in the distance, we asked if we could start our dinner in their now empty outdoor terrace and move into our table inside when it started raining. The reply was a disappointing “We will release your table inside if you don’t take it now.” We shrugged off the rather abrupt reply and went in to have dinner. All in all, dishes were some good and some sub-par. I recommend their steaks. All of us who ordered them enjoyed it. Their sides cost extra and are annoyingly small in portion size given the extra payment. Their chicken pie was just a ceramic dish of chicken with pastry on top and tasted very ordinary. The lobster bisque was ordered by most of us, and we were all disappointed by it. Waiting staff were difficult to get the attention of. As lovely a setting as the place is we all agreed that it wasn’t worth going back to.”

La Vache! Pacific Place

Shop 007 LG1, 88 Queensway, Pacific Place, Admiralty, Admiralty, Hong Kong

“They do only one set menu and they execute it well. Bread and butter to start, fresh salad with dressing, steak with fries. Steak is cooked and seasoned well. Staff are helpful and attentive. Relatively comfortable surrounding. Set menu as at 2023 is HKD398 +10%. The price makes sense given the overall experience and location.”
