The Circus Restaurant

( 8 reviews ) $$
Open until 11:00 PM

34 Brock St, Bath BA1 2LN, United Kingdom

“Genuinely surprised at the high reviews for this place. Service is awesome and atmosphere is okay. But seriously the food is not up to scratch. Pigeon was dry. The roti starter was poor . Fish of the day main was nice but the sauce was confusing and the duck with orange was pretty bad. Wine and cocktail list was good and staff were great but the quality of food and flavours really didn’t work for us.”

Chez Antoinette Victoria

22 Palmer St, London SW1H 0PH, United Kingdom

“Pretty restaurant, felt like I was in Paris. I had the French onion soup for starters and the creamed chicken with potatoes! My friend had the soup of the day -Delicious. The Hot chocolate was disappointing and the service was slap dash after we got our main! The waitress was lovely but busy I guess. Highly recommend as the prices were decent!”

The Corner House
4.7

Open until 09:00 PM

1 Dover St, Canterbury CT1 3HD, United Kingdom

“Made a reservation for two for our anniversary and didn't regret it. We sat in a very nice corner, quiet and romantic and they even had flowers and cards for us (first time an establishment gave us cards!) We had the chicken supreme and the pork belly and it was very delicious! I don't usually finish my plate but this deserved it. We were quite full after, as the portion was quite big. The staff was very courteous, helpful and attentive. If you're looking for a romantic dinner, I would definitely recommend this place.”

Noble Rot Lamb's Conduit

51 Lamb's Conduit St, London WC1N 3NB, United Kingdom

“I recently had lunch at this restaurant, and the experience was exceptional. The ambiance with English-style decor created a pleasant atmosphere. The cuisine was excellent, featuring dishes like the Comté tart and slow-cooked lamb shoulder, all delicious and flavorful. The cheeses and desserts were also outstanding. The selection of wines served by the glass was enjoyable, although the English sparkling wine we chose didn't meet expectations. The service was friendly and very professional. In conclusion, I highly recommend this restaurant, and I look forward to coming back.”

Casse-croûte

“Want to have a genuine French food experience? Head to Casse Croute like we did. That too on a cold cold day. The tiny bistro not only squeezes you in from the cold, it transforms your dining experience into a French one as if transported to the land of Gauls. We shared starters of ravioli plump with crab filling swathed generously in a velvety smooth rich bisque all pretty with wilted spinach leaves peeking out around the large bowl. Equally if not more delcious was a decadent slab of foie gras partnered with a tangy apple-sultana chutney with what tasted like buttery brioche slices. Heavenly! Our mains of roasted Guinea fowl on a bed of shallots mushrooms, rich gravy under which peeked our buttery mashed potatoes, seared trout, covered in red wine jus, on a bed of cauliflower rice/crumbs tossed with herbs and roasted hazelnuts and fresh parsley and steamed florets of cauliflower and a cheesy béchamel, a medium rare filet steak with traditional sides and a delicious satisfying mushroom soup. All washed down with a nostalgic Dubonnet, Kir Royale and a house red. With eyes bigger than our stomachs, the ever attentive and friendly Cyril our Maitre d’/Manager proffered dessert so we ordered an Ille Flotante - floating island - to share. Glad we did share as like all their offerings this was a generous sized light island of white in a sea of cream just kissed with a hint of nutmeg and sweetness. Aah. Our walk back home was in good cheer with taste buds still singing. Merci beaucoup Cyril and Casse Croute.❣️”

Le Mistral Sherwood - French Restaurant

Open until 11:00 PM

575 Mansfield Rd, Sherwood, Nottingham NG5 2JN, United Kingdom

“I recently dined at this French cuisine restaurant, and while the food was average, the atmosphere truly stole the show. The ambiance transported me to a charming Parisian bistro with its warm lighting and cozy decor. It was the kind of place where you could lose track of time while sipping wine and enjoying good company. Although the dishes didn't quite reach culinary excellence, the overall experience was pleasant, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed evening out. 🍷🇫🇷😊”

La Trompette

“Went for a special birthday foe a family member. Large group in a private room. Very attentive to us and polite, friendly throughout. Even brought a birthday treat for my brother in law. Food was tasty and as described. I advised my dietary requirements, and I received a menu updated to reflect the options I could choose from. Everyone had a lovely time. There were 3 generations present and the staff ensured everyone had a lovely experience.”

“Elegant and stylish restaurant, the staff is very professional and friendly. All dishes were succulent and well presented. Very fresh ingredients, deliciously well combined and the finest selection of wine, enhanced the whole meal. One of the best fine dining experience I've ever had. Excellent overall, we will definitely come back again!”

Simpsons Restaurant
4.7
( 8 reviews )

20 Highfield Rd, Birmingham B15 3DU, United Kingdom

“Went here last night for our daughters birthday dinner. There was some variation on the tasting menu from the last time my wife and I had eaten here earlier during the year, but once again, eating here was a lovely experience. All the staff were exceptional, and as always, it's the staff who make the evening special. From the front of the house greeting to the sommelier, the waitresses who served us, and Freddy behind the bar all made our evening special. Being introduced to the kitchen staff was also a highlight. All three of us would whole heartedly recommend eating here.”

French Living

27 King St, Nottingham NG1 2AY, United Kingdom

“An absolute gem. A little piece of France in the city centre. Everything was outstanding from the warm and friendly service to the exceptional, authentic French cuisine. The house red was delicious and complemented our meals of venison and lamb perfectly. I loved being able to use my French too. I will definitely be back.”

Sous Le Nez
4.7
( 8 reviews )

The Basement, Quebec House, 9 Quebec St, Leeds LS1 2HA, United Kingdom

“Pretty hidden restaurant located under Quebec's hotel but definitely worth a visit. We ate on a Friday lunchtime and expected to eat from the set menu we'd seen online but unusually they only offer this in the evening. They do have a bar menu for lunch but we opted for the main menu and the food was delicious. Highlights were the french onion soup & Fillet steak gateaux, not the cheapest but absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly and the service was excellent with a good recommendation from the extensive wine list from our friendly waiter. We will definitely be back.”

Oslo Court Restaurant

“We ordered the set lunch menu + sourdough & butter. Sourdough was quite nice, but the butter was not the most flavorful that i’ve had. It lacked the layers of buttery taste. Strozzapreti with romanesco & pork & veal ragu was seasoned strongly; it was quite salty and not much in layers of flavors. Clementine & beetroot salad & coconut yogurt & fig oil was alright… nothing too special about it. Chargrilled mackerel, buttermilk, horseradish , cucumber & apple was quite good. The comparison of chargrilled taste of mackerel and freshness from the cucumber and apple is harmonious in a sense. The buttermilk underneath was balanced well, too. Delica pumpkin risotto, radicchio and ginger was alright. Nothing too special to talk about. Perhaps one wouldn’t like it bcuz the ginger taste is quite strong.”

“The restaurant had a relaxing yet lovely atmosphere. We came for Sunday lunch and opted for the £90 4 course tasting menu. My friend and I got a different dish for each course so we could share and try more dishes. The sourdough bread and butter was amazing and my favourites were the red prawn ravioli, crisp pork jowl and the roast English duck. The only disappointing dish was the apple pie as it was tiny (literally bite size) and barely had any apple in it. The sommelier was super helpful in giving us recommendations on the wine and overall the service was attentive and friendly.”

White Swan At Fence
4.8
( 8 reviews ) $$

300 Wheatley Ln Rd, Fence, Burnley BB12 9QA, United Kingdom

“I ate here recently with my wife. It was a surprise 58th Birthday treat for me. It was a proper treat! I’ve eaten at a lot of Michelin starred restaurants and this was as good if not better than most. The thing that marked this place out for me though was the quality of service. All the front of house team were so friendly, knowledgeable and informal, it made it such an enjoyable birthday meal. We live about 30 minutes away so we’ll definitely be back with friends.”

Bistrotheque
4.5

23-27 Wadeson St, London E2 9DR, United Kingdom

“We went for brunch on a saturday and the staff was very nice the decor is great the live piano performance is adding this je ne sais quoi to the overall ambiance! We chose the fresh mint tea and the vegan chickpea pancake with a delicious dressing that has a kick to it we had to order bread as the meal was perhaps too light I think a second pancake on that plate would be great. My friend chose the English breakfast which was very generous in terms of portions! Recommend to go and try this restaurant ASAP!”

Lpm Restaurant & Bar
4.5
( 8 reviews )

53-54 Brook's Mews, London W1K 4EG, United Kingdom

“Though at a higher price point, this restaurant successfully delivers in value for money across both food quality and quantity. The seasoning of the meat mains were sharp, while the meat itself cooked moist and tender. Would highly recommend both the baby chicken and lamb chops. The tuna nicoise starter was plentiful. The cheesecake is a must, extremely creamy and moreish. Service was a little mixed, with one of the waiters far more concerned with punctuality than pleasantries, though others were polite and helpful.”

Raphael Restaurant

“Fantastic Food look no further!!! We stumbled by this cute restaurant by chance on a Saturday night. It was super-busy however they managed to accomodate us. We had the duck starter and pork belly as a main… both to die for! Great selection of wines and sadly could not manage to have dessert as too full. Would this place”

Chez Dominique

“Couldn't resist some alfresco dining at this adorable french restaurant. Waiter was both professional and friendly, and he served a mean aperol spritz. Food was tasty, fresh and light, just what we needed at the time. Quality didn't knock the socks off but for the very affordable price point, our expectations were appropriately set. Would recommend.”

The Poet At Matfield

Maidstone Rd, Matfield, Tonbridge TN12 7JH, United Kingdom

“Traveled all the way from London and it didn’t disappoint. First impression, the place was really warm & inviting and the staffs made you feel right at home. I ordered a couple of things but the scallop with risotto really stood out. It was light and tastefully done. The millefeuille is not to be missed. Loved the combination of pistachio and raspberry. Chef Lee told me that they get the ingredients seasonal and locally , no wonder everything tasted so fresh. Highly recommended and will definitely be back!”
