“We went to this place because of our American Express dining benefit. The steak is great, but not outstandingly special. Definitely skip the fish soup which was very disappointing. We also didn’t like the dessert. The truffle was good, but we personally couldn’t really taste it in the way that it would make it worth the price. So overall, if we would’ve paid by ourselves, this would’ve been a OK experience where if we would about to come again we would only eat steak without a truffle and skip the fish soup.”

We were a table for four. We tried the mixed starter, which was delicious. Everyone was impressed with their main course, and the desserts were equally impressive. A very extensive wine selection. “This is one of the worst restaurants I’ve eaten at. Allegedly they have one Michelin star, I found this restaurant on the Michelin website and they should be embarrassed to give them a star. All they had was cold smoked salmon, cold roast beef or a cheese platter as their dinner entree. If you look at their website they advertise all kinds of fancy food and they had nothing. The hostess was gracious but said we should be happy with what we ordered since we saw it on the menu. There was no indication that this was just all cold food and it appeared like they just picked it up from some deli and plated it. Unclear if they even have a chef. The server was rude and the food was really bad. All of it was cold other than the bread which was warm. Most disappointed 😣”

“This is the restaurant you would choose to celebrate special occasion. Anniversary, Birthday, Valentine, you name it all, and I think you and your partner will come home with big smile on your face and happy tummy. This was my third time coming here. This time I order 5 course meal with wine (cost €89 per person) and every penny are very well spent on those meals. If it’s happen to be your first time, you can try the 3-course surprise menu (it cost only €68 including wine). Normally I can say both me and my husband are eating quite a lot and perhaps come home still hungry even after 5-course meal in other fine dining restaurant. But not in Hannapel. There is something magical that I can’t explain why we always feel the right amount of “full” and “happy” after dining in this restaurant. Don’t forget to reserve before you come. Cheers.”

Although the menu was only in German we managed to translate it also with help of the hostess. “Another great visit to Jane's Mattes. We went as a family of 3 all adults. We had reserved a table and was quickly taken to it, menus passed to us and our drink order taken. Very quick, friendly and attentive service all through the time we were there. Drinks came pretty soon, then we ordered our food. I ordered the 3 course surprise menu and my wife and daughter ordered from the card. The card menu also has a starter, salad and dessert included. Plus we had an amuse bouce from the chef. The food was excellent. It costs more than most restaurants, but you definitely get your money's worth.”

Or a venue with ages old furnitures. But again, I do believe they def. need some lifting job over here as the food was awesome. We were at the Gourmet Restaurant by the way, as Yelp doenst consider to devide the Gourmet to the bistro (Piccolo) ones. Service was outstanding.”
