Le Sel Bistro

“They have a delicious french-inspired menu that makes brunch here a real gem. Pork belly or filet eggs benny? Yes please! The service was great and they have a cozy indoor space for seating that is fairly small. They also have a medium-sized patio with heaters and blankets so winter time is no big deal. We were able to get a table with no reservation on a Sunday but we also arrived right when they opened. I would def recommend a reservation if you have a time limit, larger party, or want to go during a popular time. I do wish they had more options on pastries.”

“Hidden Gem! View, food and staffs were all terrific! Detail review is followed. •View If you get a seat by the window, you’ll get to enjoy Seattle’s most famous beach view with the wheel without squeezed by tourists. Also, if the timing is right, you’ll be able to enjoy the sunset. •Food Place Pigalle has good selection of wine and French foods. I especially enjoyed the mussels with their baguette. •Staff They were very attentive and nice that my company and I enjoyed every minute we spent there. Last but not least, the location is quite hidden so we had to call them to get directions. As a result, it was truly a hidden gem restaurant.”

“Sorry this is long...We had to try this place! I don't even know how to start to describe this place. It's located in an industrial area and you can barely see the sign at night. I made reservations by leaving a message. The chef called back 3 times before I was able to talk to him. When I made the reservations he told me about some of his rules - vaccination card, photo ID, no jeans, dress nice, cash only and no tipping. And be on time. I debated to go or not because of all the rules. It's truly a ONE MAN SHOW! He's the host, the chef, waiter, busser, and dishwasher. When you walk in he tells you to go to the bathroom and wash your hands then sit on the bench until he's ready. He then ask for your ID placed next to your vaccination card to make sure it's you. The rules are typed out and then the menu is in a binder with several different languages available. When he takes your order he then also collects the money (tells us the coins are cleaned and sanitized). This whole experience was comical. Food was pretty good overall. Definitely great value for the price! We just kept laughing because it was such an odd experience. There were hats and T-shirts on a shelf. They aren't for sale but if you donate to cancer research you can grab a T-shirt. But once you touch them you have to donate. There was a sign written about the donation but was very confusing on how to donate. We tried to ask him but he was so short and rude to us, we still didn't know how to pay. Then we thought he said to pay online so we did. When we were leaving he asked why didn't we put money in the jar for the donation (in another area). I showed him my receipt on my phone but he was confused, didn't want to listen to me explain and said that's fine we can leave. We were very irritated. But made the best of it and laughed it off. At 8:30pm he called and explained that he didn't know we paid online. That another couple there overheard and told him that's what we did. He called to tell us thank you and that no one has ever paid digitally. It was such an odd experience and I'm glad we went. He's very direct and see things black and white. You just have to try this place out yourself! I can't even explain everything about this place!”

Chicory

“We’d heard good comments about Chicory and made it to brunch. Andy welcomed us in we were soon gazing in anticipation at the southern themed offerings. We’re both from the south, not that we’re experts on southern cuisine, but we do know our biscuits, so we opted for the breakfast sandwich, which was so good. The house bacon is so flavorful, and c’mon, you gotta have pimento cheese! I went with grits and they were nice and thick without going all lumpy. Give it a go, and we’ll be back!”

John's Grill

649 5th St #101, Mukilteo, WA 98275, United States

“Had reservations for my husbands 31st birthday. This dinner didn’t disappoint! The service was alright for a small town, I would have asked for better explanations about the menu as he had nothing special to really say about any of it. But again! Food was pretty great, we had the calamari, bread, corn chowder, seafood linguine and ribeye. Everything tasted light but great with flavors. I also had the old fashion and my husband had something as well as both drinks were made to perfection and were both great pairings for our selection. Will definitely be back and recommend for a lovely dinner outing in the town!”

6804 East Green Lake Way N, Seattle, WA 98115, United States

“Every year on my husband's birthday, we order takeouts from Nell's because it has become a tradition since COVID. This year, however, the experience was so bad it almost ruined the good day and it was because of the bad staff attitude. When I ordered over phone, they asked for my credit card details and security code. I hesitated but gave it to them because maybe they got a lot of pranks so I understand. But then they asked over the phone for how much I wanted to tip. I really don't like being asked to my nose for tips before I get my food as it feels quite unprofessional, so I declined politely. And immediately they had a dry laugh sarcastically over the phone. I already regretted a little about ordering here because of the bad attitude but when I went into the restaurant to pick up the food, another person asked me to sign the bill and there I could write a tip. I couldn't see the point of asking me over the phone for a tip if they would later ask me to sign the bill again. It felt really phishy as they probably think some people might feel pressured into saying a bigger tip amount when confronted over the phone especially before you get your food. I took over the food and said 'thank you' but the staff said nothing back at all. I was shocked as even mcdonald cashiers would have better attitude. I have always loved Nell's and I don't mind supporting a little extra to the staff at this local business but I really don't approve of the way they treat their customers. Respect goes both ways. If you are the manager or owner of Nell's I hope you could change the culture of the business because I really don't want to see the restaurant that we love goes under.”
