“The service was great. But the food is average and I might even say lacking for its price. If it aims to be a fine dining place, I would expect better foods. This might seem like nitpicking, but at this price range you expect a high quality dining experience. I ordered the 4-dish menu and this is what I would say: 1. The second dish and the dessert had pastry in them. The pastry was very sub-par. Soggy and not flaky at all. 2. The third (main) dish which has meat and some sides. The meat was very average, nothing exciting about it. The sides were all cold, while I expected them to be warm. 3. The dessert was some apple tart with ice cream. I already mentioned the pastry was not the greatest, and the apples were not thoroughly cooked. The first and second dishes were the best, but they were not spectacular either. And this is a bit nitpicking: the menu is only in Dutch and the “candy” that they gave after paying was a bit (for the lack of better words) nasty. I would suggest to stick to the true and tested Wilhelmina mints. :) Unfortunately, I would say there are much better options in the city if you are willing to spend 70 euros pp.”

“Excellent restaurant on a heritage site of Menkemaborg castle. Very tasty food, well presented, with lovely outside seating. Service is a bit slow, and you get a tourist trap vibe. Nevertheless it’s a wonderful destination for a date or a drink with a friend. The inside seating is a bit dark and not as nice. Plenty of parking space just outside of the castle. You can visit the gardens for a small entrance fee. Highly recommended 👍🙌”
