“I don't impress easily. I have high standards, but I also understand different classes of restaurants. We came to celebrate my 70th birthday. My wife picked the restaurant. We arrived right on time and were immediately seated at a corner table with a view of the entire place. Our server was Ginger, who was very personable and knowledgeable. We did the tasting menu with wine pairing. The food was excellent, as expected. What was both surprising and most impressive was the efficiency of the staff. As soon as we finished a course, the table was cleared and cleaned, and new setups delivered. Explanations for every dish and wine selection were on point. Chris, the manager, had a significant presence, keeping an eye on everything. He has the presence of an owner. Suffice it to say we were suitably impressed. Two Michelin stars. Well deserved.”

“2nd time coming to Marcels and it did not disappoint. We went for our 10 year anniversary and everything about Marcels- food, atmosphere, service made our anniversary dinner very special, they even gave us an extra dessert plate that said Happy Anniversary. Our server Enrique was amazing, he delivered top notch upscale service, always ready to place our napkins when we sat, kept our food and drinks coming perfect timing, and was funny and personable talking to us like family. Everyone was very nice. Every dish was delicious, impressive and unique which is what we love most. The only things I would change is to bring back the caviar appetizer item and the escargo they had on the menu about 6 years ago it was amazing, also the desserts were not as impressive with taste, and the 1st time it was like the waiters were hiding but were always right there on point refilling and serving you when needed I missed that lended to a fun mystery experience. But still a very special place and we will be back for other special occasions.”

“This fresh French / Asian fusion restaurant was one of my finest dining experiences in DC. Located in the fashionable Dupont Circle area, this eatery was operating on all cylinders. My Sangria was refreshing, particularly on a hot, muggy day. The Burrata which followed was fresh and tasty. My wife had the Gazpacho which was also delicious. For my main course, I had the ribeye steak. I loved the preparation. It was sliced, tender, with a very tasty sauce. Even the side order of french fries were crispy and plentiful. Service was super friendly and professional. Overall, an amazing choice for dinner.”

“So I'm not going to be like a few other reviewers and knock random stars off for minor inconveniences that don't have to do with the restaurant. Note, the food I describe below may be outdated due to the rotating menu. The food itself is superb. The guac with caviar and fried cheese came out and was a perfect appetiser. I personally don't think fois gras isn't a preferred food for me, but the flavor meshed well with the burger I got. The duck leg we got was also cooked to perfection. The service was great as well. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable about every item on the menu, their best pairings, and were able to help us come up with a good 3 course meal with drinks - apps, main, dessert. Food, service, and atmosphere were top notch. So if you're debating whether to come here or not and are put off by the sub 4.5 ratings, look at the 4 star ratings from the obviously hard to please people, their reviews generally say the food is really good.”

“We had the best girls night at La Jambe on 7th street! As three ladies who love cheese, we were excited to try the cheese board and order the burrata and tomatoes on impulse! Both were so delicious and the staff took time to explain each cheese to us and where they source their ingredients! We even had an allergy in the group and our server made sure to tell us what all was safe for her to eat. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious and I loved the pickles that came with it. The chocolate dessert was also amazing and I would come back just for that and a cocktail anytime!! We will definitely be back in the future, totally worth checking out if you are in the Shaw area! Great food and great atmosphere!”

“5-stars based on the brunch and breakfast while staying at the hotel. The food was absolutely amazing. We ate here twice and had the fried chicken, pancakes, sausage and biscuits, mussels, and burger. Favorite dishes were the fried chicken and mussels. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, crispy, savory, I couldn't have asked for better breakfast. The service could have been a bit more efficient, but overall the meal was delicious and I would definitely eat again when staying at the hotel.”

“First time dining here with friends over the weekend and the food and service was stellar! The restaurant was busy but we still had at least 2 servers always close by and very attentive. Food was presented so well and the taste/flavor was amazing! Great wine selection too!”
