“Firstly the staff are absolutely ace. The staff really make the place. It’s a busy strip of restaurants and they handle the crowds expertly. However, the food is really average and unfortunately brings my rating down for this place. It may have been the particular dish I chose. I had the steak tartare which was marinated in a mayonnaise type condiment. It was so saucy and rich that it took away the beauty and clean taste that a steak tartare should have. Really disappointed. My partner had the beef cheeks which was quite nice albeit too salty. Again, we may just have gotten unlucky on the day.”

“My family and I had a lovely dinner here last night. The service and food were both outstanding. Wine is mostly to be ordered by the bottle. The menu is a surprise, with the option of fish or meat for the main. We had the three course option and thoroughly enjoyed them all. I would definitely recommend if you are in Amboise!”

Considering the value for money, it would be challenging to find a better option. Having lived in France for six years, this is by far the best restaurant I have had the pleasure of visiting. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, and had much patience with our kids of 6 and almost 2 (who unfortunately had other interests than the dishes served...). For the kids they made an alternate menu more suitable to their palate. All with the same dedication and quality. Thank you for this unforgettable moment and amazing finishing touch of our holidays.”

“This was literally 5 steps from where we were staying, so we had seen how popular it had been the previous night. Booking is essential even on a Monday night. We were seated inside, which gave us space but not the street buzz. The staff were very keen to make you feel welcomed, especially Eloise. We took the 35 euro 3 course deal & every course was something interesting & and delicious, & particularly the sea bass & duck breast dishes. We enjoyed a white from Chinon. It was very reasonably priced for the quality.”

“Nice place in the beautiful countryside, where honestly it can be very hard to find a nice restaurant. Reserve ahead because it is probably the best place in a 10 km radius at least so the place is full for the popular time slots like lunch on Saturday. Compared to big city centers you could say it was a little slow, but i honestly appreciated a long 2 hour lunch with 3 courses unlike some big cities where places kind of rush you out to seat the next customer. Also, they have some fairly exotic things on the menu which are a bit hard to translate so check Thier menu online ahead of time.”
