“4 stars for the ambience and the service but not for the food. We did the 3 course menu and the fish was overcooked. The entree was terrine with raw seafood and average at best. Definitely not sure how they got rated a 4.6 on google. The kids menu was served with pasta where they didn't properly drain the water. My kids barely touched the food sadly. For the dessert, they put fromage blanc on the menu but instead gave us faisselle for the kids. It is absolutely not the same and the waiter should have mentioned that they didn't have fromage blanc so that we could've opted for ice cream instead.”

“Lovely little place to eat just a few footsteps away from the center square of Pézenas. During lunchtime they offer a deal (plateau) at 19€ that includes a starter, main, cheese and desert where the only twist is that you get everything served at the same time on a platter. This however is not a bother as everything served is of excellent quality. When visiting there was a choice of 4 platters, one meat based, one fish and one vegetarian with also a 'special of the day' platter for a few euros more. I would highly recommend a visit chez Paul as service, food and location are excellent.”

“Excellent dining experience. You can tell the chef (who came out and greeted guests personally) really takes care of finding great products to work with and then prepares them to perfection. We really enjoyed dining here and the star is so well merited. Maybe some small dissappointment over not having a wine replaced with a different beverage, this is probably explained by some ordinary staff being on holiday (we ate here just after Christmas) but still didn’t feel like the extra mile. Alas! Much worth a visit, a real personal touch!”

Both were excellent. I highly recommend the langue, it was prepared perfectly. The ambiance was nice, but a little austere. Quality versus price, excellent. Worth a detour.”

“This place was inflexible on cancel politics. Our flight was cancelled due to France strikes and we request 48h prior the start date to change dates. Since the place did not have availability to new dates, we request the cancelation free of charge. Unfortunately the place did not accept the request saying the polítics are strict. Full cost was charged without show. This was the only place that not understood the situation.”

“The place is very old school and certainly in need of some refurbishment work. The service is very slow and not at all attentive with only the two owners running around during a busy lunch period. The food is really overpriced for what it is and I think you are mainly paying for the view (which is very nice by the way) The fish tasted nice and was cooked and served in a very simple manner which does not warranty the 27 euro price tag for a fish main. The dessert (coffee gourmand) was not nice at all, sadly. I would not return, however, it was not a terrible experience either hence the 3 star”

“The location from the Steak-restaurant is amazing, but the staffs like more to chat to each other or talk with friends than clean the restaurant or prepare proper meals, also most of the young staff can't speak English and they are kind of unfriendly. We ordered the 1kg Steak in medium, with potato wedges and rice. The rice was overcooked and some of the few potatoes wedges were raw, but the saddest moment of the night was the steak. It was more than well done.. It was dry and tough to eat. We don't come back and we don't recommend it.”
