“This is the second time we've eaten here. Beautiful surroundings and garden, next to very old stone Abbey. Julien was hosting and very amenable. The young lady serving us could have smiled more. My food was perfection, every course was delicious (duck samosa, pork fillet in foie gras sauce, chocolate almond dessert) but my children's food was too small in portion size (they took the children's menu for under 12s - they are 11). My feeling is the restaurant should serve children two courses only and combine the starter and main into one larger serving).”

“We walked out of another restaurant in Sarlat & decided we wanted a special meal, so this was our choice. We had eaten here 7 years ago & we were hoping it was just as good. We were not disappointed. We sat out on the terrace & had a lovely meal with 3 courses set at 55 euros. The standouts were the duck & the chicken. The cocktail with champagne shot was delicious & the chablis was very smooth. The gourmand dessert with champagne gave you a small taste of 4 desserts. My only criticism is that they could offer a purely vegetarian option on the mains menu. Taking the pork out of the fish dish is not making it vegetarian. We left feeling it had been one of the better meals on our trip.”

“It’s probably the best restaurant has good location, space layout, food quality and service in this area! It’s kind of hidden from the crowed shopping area, right next to the river, plenty car park space, very quite and with a lots greens around. Food quality is very good (even the bread!) and the prices are very reasonable! We couldn’t speak French well, but the staff were very helpful, and would like to response every question we had! Suggest to make reservation before you go, even it’s weekday.”

“I’ve been living in the area for a couple of years now and haven’t been here before despite hearing great stories about it. And yesterday I finally set foot in this beautiful cozy restaurant. And all the stories I’ve heard were more than true. The food here is really on a next level. Great portions and incredible flavours. Massive compliments to the chef. Accompanied by fabulous wines and mouth watering desserts. All homemade and with local products. The owners and staff are some of the warmest nicest people to welcome you in to there establishment and make you feel like you’ve been coming there for years. This restaurant is now in my top list of best restaurants of the Dordogne region. P.s The Lamb is out of this world!”

“Lovely food, service without a smile. It was recommended for the food. We cycled and arrived at 6.45 having been caught in the rain. It opened at 7 so we waited. Staff were not particularly friendly and actually were quite unpleasant. Fortunately the food was lovely and quite reasonably priced overall.”

There is only a fixed price menu so you take whatever the chef has prepared that day. And the ingredients are both local and top quality. The price/value relationship is outstanding.
