“Underway from Spain to Belgium on the A9 and my son decided he was into a steak. I did some googeling and found a restaurant “ chez franck”.. Reservation by phone started with someone who asked for my name, and then used it as if i was a regular. You feel welcome. When arriving ( early) at the restaurant we didn’t knew what expect. The menu is on the plaid on the table. First thing you notice are the prices. Getting worried because really attractive ( not to say cheap) pricing. Would this be any good? We order entrecôte , salads and fries etc. First of all, small warning, the fries are not what the Dutch and Belgians are used ( so the mega crispy variation) . This is hand made. But the most important, the meat… Sorry for the wording.. WTH..?!? Perfect meat, perfectly prepared, perfect taste ( and yes without arrogance we know our meats). The owner appears to be a famous rugby player. I don’t like restaurants that are from “ famous people” that are never there and ripp you off. Well the guy is here, and he is friendly, works together with his very friendly team , and is running a great restaurant. The Micheling guide gave in Thailand to a few non standard restaurants a michelin star. And really, I regret we had no more time.. But this restaurant is worth a detour and is now on my favorite list!! Please go there!”

“The service was amazing - quick, very warm, friendly and welcoming. The food - so good! Please give your tastebuds the pleasure:) There's a few vegetarian options too. The vibe was that of a cute french cafe with lovely music playing in the background and beautiful decorations. The prices were really good for that type of service and food! I recommend this place to everyone in the neighbourhood, it's worth it and you'll have an amazing evening, I promise you that💕”

“Five stars mostly. Food, especially. Beautifully cooked, presented and tasted sublime. Great, attentive service. Helpful , epecially to English speakers with not much French. Such a find on a dusty road out of a small village away from main roads. But a mark comes off because ( and I know I am in France and perhaps have to live with it) a large receptacle of dead cigarette butts close to our table. Not pleasant.”

“Not the first time we have eaten here and this visit confirmed our high opinion of this excellent restaurant in an out-of-the-way small village. Firstly the restaurant La Grange (the barn) is in a building that was probably a barn but it cosy, well laid out and has an inviting feel to it. Tables are well placed. It has a cosy feel. Not a lot of customers at this visit but Madame and Monsieur were welcoming and attentive throughout the evening. Excellent menu -ample of choice, including vegetarian - and the food is beautifully cooked and presented. The veloute de butternut received high praise. Perhaps our only quibble is that the panna cotta dessert is enough for two. Neither of us could get through a plate each. Highly recommended.”
