9 Rue François Rocca, 13008 Marseille, France

“Another example of showing Michelin star restaurant is all about consistency. Dine at the chef table and enjoyed seeing how the process worked where the chef does the final quality control to ensure consistent presentation of dishes to customers. Wine pairing was overall good. The only combo I did not like was the selection to pair with cheese. Camembert is cheese with strong character and so as the selected wine.”

“Enjoyed our lunch here! Though the food wasn’t mind blowing, the dishes were good and comforting. The bull tataki wasn’t for me but it was good to try and may suit other tastes better. The fine de claire oysters were fresh and delicious; the desserts were also good and well balanced!”

Restaurant L'oustau De Baumanière
4.7
( 16 reviews )

515 Rte DE BAUMANIERE, 13520 Les Baux-de-Provence, France

“Wine pairing price = $161 Retail Value = $36 Markup = 450% A total of 7 pairings (full list below), w/ one standout older vintage of 2004, four from 2018, others from 2019 and 2020. The bottles were all moderately priced for French wine around $50. The food was exquisite. Despite not eating much that day, I was really filling up about 2/3 of the way in, struggling to eat the main savory and the desserts. Service was exceptional. Ambiance was lovely. The chef and owner really care about feedback and visited every table. I'd definitely return. Full wine list for tasting: Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Chablis Premier Cru 'Mont de Milieu' 2018 $40 Domaine d'Aupilhac La Boda 2018 $32 Château de Vaudieu Clos du Belvédère Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020 $60 Vincent Bachelet Santenay 1er Cru 'Clos des Mouches' 2019 $58 Château Sociando-Mallet Jean Gautreau Red 2004 $66 Hay Hop IPA Blance au foin de crau [Beer] $7 Domaine Huet Vouvray Clos du Bourg Moelleux 2018 $38”

Villa Salone
4.8
( 8 reviews )

6 Rue Maréchal Joffre, 13300 Salon-de-Provence, France

“Lovely place but nothing exceptional. The service was extremely disappointing, and the food more so, for a starred restaurant it was below average. About the service, we ordered a bottle of wine from the carte, only to receive a different bottle with a vintage that doesn't even feature on the menu, no explanation, just like that. I guess for the inexperienced staff all Sancere is the same! It is customary for the staff to refill out glasses when empty. About the food, the foie gras had the wrong texture, felt more like chewing on a piece of rubber, the scallop was way too firm and tasteless, and the main course, a pork belly that was tender but dry! I very much doubt there was a chef in the restaurant that night??? If you go without any expectations of a level of service or a mastery of cooking then this is a satisfactory average restaurant. Otherwise you are better off going somewhere else. Not recommended.”

Le Cercle Rouge
4.7

41 Rue Adolphe Thiers, 13001 Marseille, France

“We visited Marseilles in 2022 and found this restaurant by searching on google for restaurant nearby our hotel. It was a small restaurant, but it was a hidden gem in Marseille! Their menu was artistically written on blackboard with white chalk and their kind staff explained and recommended dishes in English. We tried appetizer and steak and ordered a bottle of red wine and it was all delicious! The service was friendly and very helpful made us feel so welcomed. We had dinner upstairs dining area with small garden, cute lighting and candles. Great ambiance for dinner. They only have limited seating area, reservation is encouraged.”

“Really great restaurant hidden away on a small side street. They serve tapas style dishes, great for sharing. We all especially loved the panisse, a local speciality, the beef meatballs and fish pie, and everything else we ordered was excellent. They also offered a côte de boeuf for two. The service was excellent and the place had a laid back and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!”

“Small restaurant in the center of Marseille with its own rooftop which has beautiful views. The restaurant feels very comfy and has a good atmosphere. We had an unplanned diner there with my spouse and we were happily surprised with the food and the menu. Yes it is a bit pricy but worth it ; overall an enjoyable evening and service was top notch!”

52 Rue d'Italie, 13006 Marseille, France

“I would recommend this Restaurant to everyone visiting or living in Marseille. The food is extremely delicious and refined and the service impeccable. My and my two friends ordered three main courses and one dessert we shared since we were not really hungry, but had to try after how amazing the food had been so far. This cost us about 30 per person which is amazing value for this high quality of food and also a really good portion size. Must visit!”

Restaurant Saisons
4.6
( 10 reviews )
Closed until 12:00 PM

8 Rue Sainte-Victoire, 13006 Marseille, France

“Expectations are always high at a Michelin-starred restaurant and Saisons served a five-course "blind" menu that we thoroughly enjoyed. While most dishes - all well prepared - were quite traditional, the anchovies-studded fregola bowl provided a special pleasure. The service is friendly and unstuffy, and we very much appreciated the work of the sommelier who found us great wine pairings with the various dishes. Note: please expand your selection of craft beers.”
