Alfredstraße 64, 45130 Essen, Germany
“Amazing restaurant! Easily the best that I've been to in Germany. Super comfortable dining area, really friendly staff, and the food was delicious. It was so good that we decided to go again the next day, rather than take our chances with another restaurant.”

“Absolutely delicious. Wonderful bistro serving a variety of franco-german options. The fries are to die for. Menu could be a little more varied if I had to be picky. A lot of offal and fish, some more meat dishes might be good. Service is amazing, no orders written down but everything delivered exactly as ordered even with a big table! Very friendly and helpful too. Will definitely be back to try more!”

“Had a really delightful evening meal here on Halloween evening. The waitress provided excellent service. She seemed to genuinely care that we were having a good meal experience. We were a table for four. We tried the mixed starter, which was delicious. Everyone was impressed with their main course, and the desserts were equally impressive. A very extensive wine selection. I can definitely recommend the Cremant.”

“Excellent meal. Everything we tried was delicious. Service was efficient and professional. Monkfish was definitely the highlight for me, though the steak tartare came in a close second. …”

“This is the restaurant you would choose to celebrate special occasion. Anniversary, Birthday, Valentine, you name it all, and I think you and your partner will come home with big smile on your face and happy tummy. This was my third time coming here. This time I order 5 course meal with wine (cost €89 per person) and every penny are very well spent on those meals. If it’s happen to be your first time, you can try the 3-course surprise menu (it cost only €68 including wine). Normally I can say both me and my husband are eating quite a lot and perhaps come home still hungry even after 5-course meal in other fine dining restaurant. But not in Hannapel. There is something magical that I can’t explain why we always feel the right amount of “full” and “happy” after dining in this restaurant. Don’t forget to reserve before you come. Cheers.”

“Very good food. The lobster soup was tasty. I had a steak which was cooked exactly the way I asked it to. The chocolate parfait was delicious. Portion was good, not too sweet. Service was good. The place was nice and clean”
Schmachtenbergstraße 184, 45219 Essen, Germany
“Nice, cozy restaurant, very friendly welcome. Good wine selection with nice advice. Clear fish soup unfortunately too onion-heavy, monkfish with morels and beans without any connection, Saltimbocca great meat, unfortunately the vegetables were very coarse and eggplant with a lot of peel, so unfortunately one star less.”
Wiesenstraße 32, 40549 Düsseldorf, Germany
“The food was spot on as well as the service and the atmosphere. However, I think it's more European food with a few French dishes. For a french restaurant I'd have expected larger choice of very traditional french food. Though, don't get me wrong it's really nice and would go again.”
