“Traditional German - how Grandma would cook it - cousine with tasty meat heavy dishes. This restaurant gives you an authentic feel for the time in the last century. The restaurant is decorated with lots of references to the former owner and founder Max Walloschke. A ringer who came from Breslau to Hannover. This alone gives you a reason to visit and step back in time. The food is delicious and you get quite big portions. Most dishes are meat centric and offer some potatoe variations and salad. The Eisbein was tender and juicy. Biting in to it I could not believe how soft the meat felt and how the fat melted on my tounge. The meat itself was falling of the bone easily. Combined with the mustard you could add extra bit of spice. The steaming warm Bratkartoffeln (roast potatoes) were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The amazing meal and traditional atmosphere made me think of lunch at my grandparents. Bring good hunger with you and make a reservation beforehand, since there are limited places.”

“My buddy and I emerged here for his graduation and were pleased that there were plenty of great tables to choose from whenever we arrived. Sis and I stopped by here throughout a shopping trip, lovely food and rapid service. Enjoy this place, not too expensive. My little sis and I were really fulfilled with all the high quality ingredients that are actually regionally sourced, everything tasted really fresh. The waitress went far beyond to help to make our meal exceptional.”

“We go here often. Especially in the summer time, this place is a nice and popular spot to sit outside and enjoy Fresh meals and good beer. The menu on the Card hasnt changed since years but we actually like that because everyhting on the menu is fantastic. There is Nothing we would not recommend. Besides that there are Always Specials. Keep your eyes open at the entrance. There are chalk boards with daily and Weekly Specials. They sometimes offer Wonderful game and venison menues.”

“Nice outdoor seating area with sounds and views of the fountain. The tables outside are very close together though. The indoor seating area is nice as well, I would recommend making a reservation especially on the weekends. The food is good. The rice bowl I had was on their special asparagus menu. And, it was fresh and full of flavor. The best dish I’ve gotten at this restaurant.”

“Great Food, Great Service and an inviting atmosphere. This is a popular local restaurant. They serve an amazing "assorted " salad prior to your entree. All food is prepared fresh but never a long wait. Friday is Fish day... I have been there the last few Fridays... the fish is GREAT! They have a wide variety on their menu to choose from, so you're sure to find something for everyone's tastes . Beer is served as well.”

“I had high expectations as friends have always recommended this place. I made a reservation for a Tuesday evening for two. We were sat at a table by staff and then another waiter came and asked us to move. Service was very inattentive and court: knocked over glasses, didn’t bring the wine menu, taking orders while carrying other people’s empty plates, etc. We ordered an antipasti platter to share (which was not tasty) and Parmesan linguine. The pasta was amazing, but the waiter sprinkled truffle flakes all over the table, into my wine glass and my trousers. The atmosphere felt like that of a museum cafe rather than an expensive restaurant: way too bright, no privacy, could overhear every conversation. All in all, this experience made me feel like they’re trying to offer an upscale dining experience but don’t have the skills to do it. We spent €80 per person and it was way worse than other Italian restaurants I’ve been to.”
