“Our experience at Root & Bone wasn’t necessarily bad, but rather exceedingly mediocre. The waitstaff was top notch and the ambiance is pleasant, with lots of fun, kitschy knick-knacks adorning the walls. Where things fell off was with the food. Nothing really lived up to the hype. The fried chicken was fine, but wasn’t really much better than what you’d get at Popeye’s, which is disappointing when the Chicken & Waffles is $20. I had the steak sandwich, and it was cooked well, and was rather tasty, but it was begging for a sauce of some sort. My son got the biscuits and gravy, and the biscuits were dense while the had an overpowering herb flavor that was just ruined the dish. Nothing was disgusting, but we expected so much more from the chefs behind this restaurant.”

“Absolutely love it here for authentic Greek food! Sat outside which was perfect and felt just like in European style. The food tastes like it was homemade! I am gluten free but my husband is not and we are both able to find plenty of options here. I had half a chicken plater which amazing! I also recommend the Greek coffee. Service is outstanding! Family owned. Will be back again!”

“Excellent service, exceedingly friendly staff. Literally everyone we interacted with was super friendly, asking us whether it was our first time there, if we had questions, what we were celebrating, etc. Very cognizant regarding allergy concerns. Menu clearly states what is gluten free. Food and drinks were delicious (crispy brussel sprouts for appetizer, pan roasted salmon and apple blueberry salad with chicken for entree, pineapple martini and sneaky lavender). Definitely will visit again.”

“Another place I wanted to love but it failed short of expectations. I will take full responsibility of my choice to dine here, I didn’t check the reviews bc it was so close to an event I was attending. As we were eating I checked the reviews and I see why they have lack luster reviews. I’ll start by saying the host (Charles, I think) and the decor were amazing. I loved the look of the place and our host was very attentive. Now for the food…very bland and the flavor profiles were not well matched. My pork belly lacked so much flavor. I love pork belly and this is by far the one of the worst. It was cooked well, so that was good—but I have no idea how they managed to siphon it of flavor! Haha. I got the polenta cakes as well, the blue cheese was an odd choice and the cakes lacked seasoning. I did really enjoy the fruit reduction that came with it. My scallops were pretty good. Again needed seasoning but the best plate from my order. This place has so much potential, but they maybe need to go back to the drawing board on their menu items.”
