D'arcy Ranch Golf Club
4.5
( 16 reviews )

376 D’arcy Ranch Dr, Okotoks, AB T1S 5T5, Canada

“I would be giving 2 stars but the course is absolutely gorgeous and well taken care of, no complaints about the course at all! It seems to be a familiar trend among bad reviews, that the Marshals are very pushy and at time contradict their own words. We got up to the tee box, talked for a bit and we’re told that we would be fine on time as there was no one in front of us. By the ninth hole the story had changed, told the team in front is 10 minutes ahead of us. Again not what we were told in the beginning. We were told multiple times that we are too slow. We were 6 minutes behind after getting off 5 minutes late. For how much money we spend on a tee time here we really shouldn’t be made to feel rushed with only a 6 minute delay. By the ninth, we were being told we might have to skip a hole. The entire game took us 4:05 so I didn’t understand the rush. I’m sorry but with this price I’m playing every hole. My wife decided to skip the 10th hole, and then we met the third marshal. The third marshal was incredibly kind and understanding, absolutely brought me and my team back into a good mood to finish off our game. Unfortunately because of all this it might not be a regular course for my friends, family and I. We will try again and see if they can change.”

“Very fun course! A great place for beginners or those who are just looking for something more casual. I recommend anyone to check this place out. Do be aware it is first come first serve, however I have yet to wait more than a few minutes to get started once arriving. I would highly recommend bringing some bug spray to anyone visiting as there is a good bunch of greenery around and the bugs can be persistent. Overall a fantastic place to go! Will be coming back!”

“Was in Calgary and told this golf course and local dinosaur museum were worth the visit. I'm glad I made the 1.5+ hour drive because both were a pleasant surprise kind of in the middle of nowhere. But speaking of the course is exactly like others have mentioned. The front nine is very peaceful and not too challenging..... But once you start driving up to #10 you can tell things are about to change. Let's just say I was 1 over on the front and lost no balls...... however I lost 5 balls on the back and was 10 over. I'm still happy with my score but the back nine offers a lot of blind shots. Definitely a course you need to play a couple times before you get the tee shots lined up correctly. So would definitely recommend but just be prepared to be challenged on the back nine and you're going to lose a ball here and there. Also a little heads up but there's apparently rattlesnakes in the area which I did not know so I wouldn't recommend venturing too far off the course to search for a lost ball.”

“Cottonwood Golf & Country Club was absolutely exceptional when it came to hosting our wedding. Justin & Lyndsay were such a pleasure to work with. They were professional, caring and really made sure all the bases were covered and taken care of when it came to our wedding day. They worked hard and truly created a stress-free day for us. Their prices are super reasonable, the food was FANTASTIC – We had so many compliments on the appetizers and dinner. Unfortunately, we had to make a last-minute change for our ceremony as it was pouring rain, and all the staff at the golf course came together to make sure that everything was taken care of moving the ceremony indoors. They did such a great job at taking care of the last-minute moves so we didn’t have to worry about it. All of the wedding staff were so friendly and helpful and they did a phenomenal job of making sure us and our guests had a great time. And let’s not forget about how beautiful the golf course is for photos – absolutely stunning! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Cottonwood Golf & Country Club for your wedding / event!”

“Over the top amazing staff. Great location- out of the way in central Calgary. Cannot use the audio feature of cell phones while on the premises and no t-shirts or denim. There is a cell phone room if you need to take a call. Catering is AMAZING. Great place to host an event.”

Goose Hummock Golf Resort

23210 Township Rd 564, Gibbons, AB T0A 1N0, Canada

“This is a beautiful course. It's a challenging course as well. I do not golf my son does. But I do walk the course to explore the grounds. Great driving range and putting area. It was a stop in the McLennan Ross tour. Club house is small but charming. Food was good had thw club sandwiche onday amd the next day had breakfast. That was delicious and the prices are right! The staff is very nice. I loved that each hole had a name No doubt meaningful to the owners. I wish the paths were paved and easier on the feet, but that's minor. I don't know how busy the golf course is on a daily basis, but the only thing I feel needs improvement is their proshop. It's very small, which is ok. It's the quantity and quality of the products missing. Otherwise, it's a great place to spend the day and golf!”

“Beautiful place. The club house amazing and the food was good. Their pro shop well stocked. Staff was very nice and courteous. My son loved golfing there! He is in a league so they were invited to verse their league player. You must have a membership to golf there, I believe.”

Rundle Park Golf Course

2902 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5S 2M5, Canada

“This one-of-a-kind "goat track" is a gem par-3 course in Edmonton. Short, long, and in between options on many holes make it challenging and fun for beginners or someone looking to work on their rainmakers. Garrett and the staff will take great care of you, the price is right, and there are always plenty of birdies left behind to chase. My 3 boys and I have put in dozens of rounds each summer for the last 3 years and we keep coming back.”

Willow Park Golf & Country Club

“Stunning course in the city that makes you think you are out in the mountains. World class greens and fairways make for an incredible experience. The restaurant food is amazing (butter chicken is unreal). Always enjoy playing here.”

Coloniale Golf Club

10 Country Club Dr, Beaumont, AB T4X 1M1, Canada

“Colonial is a wonderful gem that has an amazing club house. The staff are friendly and courteous. The greens are amazing without any winter kill. The fairways are lush, bunkers are soft and well maintained, the sandwiches are amazing. I enjoyed every aspect of the course. This is a great place to enjoy a quiet round of golf, enjoy the views, and lose yourself thinking about how blessed you are to be alive. I hope everyone has an opportunity to enjoy the slice of paradise.”

Lakewood Golf Resort

1231 Township Rd 391, Red Deer County, AB T4P 0P8, Canada

“The course is amazing. It’s well designed and well maintained. Staff at the club house and the drinks cart were nice too. However they book way too many golfers way to close together. I’ve been to the driving range 7 times this month and tried to book 4 tee times but they are always booked up. I was finally able to book a round on my birthday. Which landed on a non holiday Monday this year. Took the time off of work and everything for it. Honestly if it was a weekend or holiday I might have understood why we were rushed however. We were constantly waiting on the tee box for the people ahead of us, and the people behind us only had to wait on us once. So it definitely didn’t feel like we were the issue. However we were constantly told to pick up pass and then we would finish a hole and wait for 5 min on the group ahead of us. Who was waiting on the group ahead of them. We never saw the Marshall speak to anyone else around us but he followed us and watched us for several holes. It felt like we were being singled out because we were a duo instead of a group. Honestly it was enough to make the round completely unenjoyable. And I’ve been rushed almost every time we go even if it never feels like we are the issue. It’s for sure that they book to many people to close together. I would rather have a harder time booking and actually enjoy my round then have a hard time booking and not get treated like that. Lakewood used to be my favourite course but honestly I’m probably never going back. They need to book fewer tee times or teach their marshals to identify actual issues. Super disappointed with how we were treated.”

“Great club, great course, staff lady at the serving window was very unfriendly. Would strongly recommend to managment to staff that post with a more customer service based employee. She would have been better suited elsewhere. Course was in great shape. Clubhouse check-in staff were great!”

Fort Mcmurray Golf Club

100 Real Martin Dr #3, Fort McMurray, AB T9H 4V9, Canada

“Came to Fort Mac for work and took a drive out to see the course. Hadn’t even planned on playing but the club pro was headed out with a couple others and invited me to join. The rental clubs were super nice and so was the course! I was super impressed with the friendliness and care of the staff. I’ll definitely be playing here any time I come to Fort Mac and encourage you to do the same! Can’t wait to see the new club house when it’s finished too!”

“The restaurant doesn't seem to be listed here but the review is for the restaurant. First time here - and already got the wrong burger after the server recommended me another one. The one I got was also burned and shouldn't have left the kitchen. The server was very apologetic and offered to make a fresh one. I was under the impression the cost of the meal would be taken care of as the server said, but the manager only allowed her(over the phone) to discount upgrade from fries to a poutine. So I paid full price for a burnt wrong burger that I haven't finished and having a cold burger later at home. Mistakes happen. I get it. And the server didn't even expect a tip, but I tipped her and would've preferred if there was a manager on duty to actually speak with and get a better discount for the mediocre experience on a first visit on a not so busy Friday evening. The poutine was decent, gravy tasted good but it was a bit too salty. Update: downgrading to one star because there was hair in the burger I took home. It's a shame the cook is wasting so much food and clientele at the expense of this business. I would avoid this place at all costs and would not suggest it to anyone.”

Lakeview Golf Course

5840 19 St SW, Calgary, AB T3E 3H3, Canada

“A good 9 holes golf course for newer golfers as there really isn't a lot of hazards to avoid. Course kept in good condition. Helpful staff. However, there's a lot of low hanging powerlines on a few fairways that can interfere with the ball flight.”
