“We did not stay at the Hyatt. This is strictly based on golf. I grew up down the road from the famous Plantation Golf Course, in Kapalua, Maui. It is our 14th wedding anniversary, and my Husband wanted to take me to a golf course as beautiful as the ones back home in Hawaii. The Aviara golf course did not disappoint!!! We move every one to two years, due to work. So we have been very fortunate to play at many golf courses over the years. This one instantly became one of our top favorites!!! My Husband likes to be challenged, so he especially enjoyed playing here! He is NOT easily impressed, but even he kept saying how well maintained the course was. It truly is gorgeous. Absolutely tranquil. Facilities equally lovely. The staff at the pro-shop were so attentive and friendly. Made us feel very welcome… although we were not guests of the hotel. They even made up a special sign that stated our anniversary on it, which made my eyes water! The Starter was equally as nice and professional. He congratulated us on our special occasion. Our interaction with all the staff started our afternoon off with such a positive note, and those vibes carried us through our entire game!!! We already look forward to our next visit. To the ENTIRE staff at the Aviara Golf Club… even the ones we never met… which includes grounds keepers: “Mahalo nui loa… a hui ho… malama pono… the Padillas” 😊🤙🏼😎🤙🏽”

“Great course. I went early on a Monday and was the second tee time. Pace of play was easy going (no one behind me for 3 tee times). The course was beautifully maintained. Greens were super fast which costed me some extra strokes. Even though the course is in a neighborhood, the fairways are wide enough you don’t have to worry about hitting a house (unless you have a really bad slice).”

“Very long course that, aside for many tree-lined fairways, is very forgiving. Greens and fairways are in pretty good shape. Layout is fairly generic, although a couple of the par 3s are pretty interesting. I only interfaced with one staff member, and he was great. Got stuck behind four guys that, despite obviously being around golf courses for 40 years, didn’t have the sense to let me play through when the opportunity arose. But it was still a great day. One of the best values in the county.”

“I took the opportunity to play disc golf here as I've seen it on the pro tour and it's an iconic course. Also a bit notorious because it requires a very strong arm. It was a nice course and enjoyable but I won't return. There's not much thought given to disc golf in the day to day operation, most notably the signs are old and unreadable, and it's hard to find tee pads (you're lucky if it's not almost completely worn out). Regular golfers are nice and generally understanding but it's going to be a very very long round unless you jump around or get a string of nice groups that wave you through.”

“Great disc golf course! Staff are super friendly. 18$ to play per player and it is 18 holes. There are discs to buy in the pro shop as well. You can also get a golf cart but that costs extra. You play along side with golfers so make sure you book a tee time prior to showing up. All golfers in front of me and behind me were all nice and loved to see how the sport is played.”

“Tee time at 2:34 paid $2xx. Immediately thought that’s not too bad for how nice of a course this was going to be. Stepped onto the first green and immediately regretted my decision to play here. Greens were in terrible shape for the price they were demanding to play here. Super dried out with hundreds of divots on each green. The tee boxes and fairways were very nice though, some spots under construction… no big deal. Club house is nice, but absolutely 0 signs pointing you there, had to stumble around the resort to find it. Will not be going back. Save yourself some money and go play the Aviara course down the road. Much nicer and almost half the price.”

“Nice course with a fun layout. Lots of danger/opportunity. You have the option to, go for greens or play to a number for position. I really liked the suspension bridges across the water and the 100 yard forced carry on the first tee makes you lock into golf mode quick. I thought the course was in great shape. I will be back on my next trip I had a great round and loved the walk. If I have just one tiny critique it’s they, need to change the signage and yardage book. They were a 27 hole facility and sold one of the routes to a developer. The yardage book was a little confusing because the “Friar” course doesn’t exist anymore. Course plays great as a straight up 18 and you don’t have overly weird routing because 9 holes are gone.”
