5347 Gulf Dr, Holmes Beach, FL 34217, United States

“We rented 3 single speed beach cruisers for our 5 day trip to AMI. Baskets, locks and helmets provided upon request. The best part is that they drop them off at your rental property the day you arrive and then you just lock them up when you depart and they pick them up. How hassle free and convenient is that. They had the lowest prices and Amanda was very helpful with the reservations. I would definitely recommend.”

“We spend a week here for Thanksgiving. The weather was great. This is such a great little campground. Sites are spacious, and very well kept. The folks there patrol the area really well, and they are so very friendly. It's very quiet and peaceful. The beach is beautiful, and so are the sunrise and sunset. Great little fishing pier to fish from, and to watch the dolphins swim by. We had a great stay her, I would highly recommend!! I did catch the ladys name, but the one who drives the JD tractor, she is super friendly, very nice lady!! E All the staff was friendly, but she made a point to come by and check in on us now then, very nice!!!”

“Ship sticks broke the shaft on my ping driver on my golf vacation in Ft. Myers. I called several places to replace the shaft. Then I heard from the starter at Eagle’s Ridge to try The Golf Guys. I call them and they could replace the shaft. Ten minutes after arriving at TGG I had a new shaft, for a very reasonable price. The GGs saved my vacation. I recommend that you give the your business. “The golf course itself is excellent. It has a bunch of interesting holes and is in very good condition. The greens are super-fast and in great shape; the tee boxes are excellent; and the fairways have plenty of grass. Pace of play was very good -- well under 4 hours for a foursome. The driving range, however, was pretty shabby and the overall curb appeal of the grounds was lacking. Cups and straws were missing from the water cooler area. Prior to our round, there were few people around to help us get to the right places. The restaurant had a small, reasonably priced menu with very good food. In summary, the golfing experience was excellent, but the accoutrements were lacking.”

Everglades Rod & Gun Club

( 8 reviews )

200 W Broadway, Everglades City, FL 34139, United States

“It was our first time to the area and we showed at night with our 4 kids. There was no one working front desk. The hotel was completely closed with no one around. My kids, being from a much more populated area of Florida and had seen maybe too many scary movies were freaked out. I couldn’t get our door locked properly at first and the kids wanted to leave. I texted Taylor (the lady I made our arrangements with) and she contacted the owner and he was there within minutes. He was very nice, showed me to the lock the door 🤦🏻‍♀️, and out the kids at ease. The room was very nice. It looked freshly painted, had a wonderful screened in patio, and was right next to the boat ramp. There’s plenty of parking for your truck and trailers if coming with boats. Great launch spot. We were only in town for not even 24 hours but we walked around the property and it’s beautiful. It’s old of course being a historic building but it’s being worked on and it has so much character. You have to understand the nature of the area. It seems to be a quiet sleepy town so don’t expect big city things. We will be back when we have more time.”

Herons Glen Golf & Country Club
4.5
( 8 reviews ) $$
Closed until 07:00 AM

2250 Herons Glen Blvd, North Fort Myers, FL 33917, United States

“Herons Glen in North Fort Myers is a gated community with 1,300 homes. Herons Glen offers its residents a ton of amenities to help keep them in peak physical condition. The original golf course was designed by renowned golf course architect Ron Garl and opened in 1991. Gordon Lewis did a redesign of the course in 2006 and in 2021, the Herons Glen rehired Garl to do a 6-million-dollar major renovation. One of Ron Garl’s specialties is practice facilities, and the new Herons Glen Golf & Country Club has some incredible practice facilities, including a full-length aqua range with 27 Turf-Hound hitting stations along with several Bermuda grass stations, an 8,100 sq ft putting green, and a chipping area. It’s not uncommon to see members on the range, honing their game or warming up before a round. Annual practice facility memberships are available. Herons Glen’s length isn’t going to overwhelm many players. The course offers six sets of tees and can be enjoyed by golfers of all levels; the scorecard goes a step further and includes a total of ten yardages that range from 4,168 to 6,458 yards. Just pick the set of tees that best fits your game and you’re guaranteed to have a fun round. The newly redesigned Herons Glen Golf Course has several holes that will stick in your memory for a while. The second hole is a short risk/reward par 4 that offers longball hitters the opportunity to drive the green. From Tee #2 the hole plays 271 yards; by taking a line directly over the trees on the left side the green is reachable. A word to the wise: if you hit your tee shot left or push it right, there’s a good chance you may never see it again. The smart play off the tee is a long iron or hybrid which will leave a short pitch shot into a relatively flat green. Number 2 is handicapped as the easiest hole on the course. Number 4 is a par 3 and is Ron Garl’s signature – an island green. From tee #2, the hole plays 163 yards with two separate bunkers that guard the front right. Playing out of these bunkers can be a daunting task, with the lake looming behind the pin. Most of the members I spoke with said that the most significant change was making the 10th hole a dogleg right; a completely different look from the original dogleg left design. There’s water all the way down the right side from the tee to green and trees on the left off the tee. A good drive down the right side that doesn’t find the water will leave the shortest approach shot into the green. Pull your tee shot left and you may find one of the fairway bunkers. There’s a greenside bunker that sits between the water and the right side of the green. Par is a good score here. Number 13 is probably the most interesting hole on the course. It's a 369-yard par 4 dogleg left, although it’s more like a left turn. I remember from high school geometry that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, however, taking such a line would require playing directly over the lake and a couple of houses. You may be able to get away with it during the summer months when many of the residents aren’t home, but during peak season, it’s a different story. It’s only about a 225-yard carry over the water to go directly at the green. The safe play – one that doesn’t involve homeowners or liability insurance - is to hit a hybrid or iron off the tee and leave a short pitch shot, slightly uphill, onto the green. There are a couple of bunkers in front that need to be carried on your approach shot and the green is a lot wider than it is deep. The 16th hole is a par 4 that plays 402 yards from Tee #2 and has a fairway that is wide enough for course architect Ron Garl to land his airplane on. The waste bunker on the right side off of the tee is reachable and a good drive will leave a long or mid-iron approach shot into a green that slopes left to right with water behind it and two large bunkers on the left. It’s one of the more challenging holes on the course. Herons Glen is a great place to call home with a fantastic golf club and a very friendly staff.”

Legacy Golf Club At Lakewood Ranch

8255 Legacy Blvd, Bradenton, FL 34202, United States

“We stopped in at Legacy for the first time as we have golf lessons at GolfTEC. We just wanted to grab a lite lunch and hit some balls on the Range. The atmosphere is like being in a private club but it's public what a beautiful place. It was incredible sunny day for a change in January so we thought we'd sit out on the deck and we ordered our lunch. I had a blackened chicken wrap with coleslaw and everything was perfect I enjoyed it very much. My wife had a chicken wrap with french fries and they were both delicious as well . I snuck a few fries just to test and they were nice and brown and crunchy. The driving range is probably the best one I've seen so far since we've been in Florida. Its a huge area for a lot of people and just beautiful scenery and yes you can hit off the actual grass with or without a tee. There's a huge open area where you can practice chipping and also a beautiful putting green. I can't comment on the course but it just seems immaculate in fact every part of this business seems to be run top notch. The Pro Shop is well stocked with golf attire and a really good variety also with a great shoe selection with lots of different sizes up to 13. Highly recommend! “Fantastic, casual, relatively easy course. Slow greens and beautiful scenery. Just a quality course all around, no need to spend extravagant amounts of money to play quality courses down here in destin area. The weather and wind are not a problem at all and the people we met were so helpful and accommodating. Well maintained course and clubhouse. Stay hydrated!”

“We love the Eglin Golf Club restaurant! This is where we have had our company party for five years now. They outdid themselves this year and made an amazing spread of food. Everything we asked for, we received. Their staff was friendly and accommodating and so very hard working, which is the reason why we keep returning every year. Definitely recommend partying there or just having a simple meal. You won't be disappointed.”

Bloomingdale Golfers Club

Closed until 06:00 AM

4113 Great Golfers Pl, Valrico, FL 33596, United States

“Bloomingdale is an excellent course. It is challenging and the tee boxes and fairways are always in good condition. The course is very busy and the greens can pay the price with people not repairing their pitch marks. Pace of play can be slow but that’s to be expected with the great rates here.”
