“This was after searching for a dog friendly cafe with a view and we certainly were not disappointed the view is quite special, the food is excellent with ample varieties of home made cakes and pastries to choose from, the coffee is perfect and cold drinks are absolutely yummy, the atmosphere is incredible with great service and a log fire to keep you warm,I especially loved the Mushroom, caramelised onion, brie & garlic, sage butter toastie. “I have not had such proper Italian food in Australia before ever. I went with a vegetarian fellow and yet I was not disappointed with the food at all. It was amazing and truely satisfying. Definitely worth the money. The alcohol selection was decent but as a whiskey lover I was disappointed when there was no whiskey in the menu. I also was not overly happy with the fact that we had to sit outside despite making a booking, mostly because it was really cold outside and the heaters installed were not very helpful during such strong winds. I also believe they were understaffed as we had to make frequent trips inside the restaurant to get the waiting staff to serve us. I understand they usually are very busy but we had to wait a lot and the cold environment didn't make it easy. However the food, MAMA MIA!!!!! I will definitely go again and again just for the food even if they make me sit outside in cold and that how good the food was.”

“How can you go wrong with chocolate?? I ordered an iced hazelnut chocolate milk from the little cafe in the factory (after spending way too much money in the chocolate factory area 🤤). It was just delicious. They have a great range of iced chocolates and hot chocolates with unique flavours. The staff were absolutely lovely and super helpful. (Cheese tasting and whisky and gin tasting next door to the factory was fantastic as well).”

“We are tourists from Singapore, and our AirBnb host recommended Prancing Pony as being kid friendly and with good food. We loved our afternoon 'tea' here. We had pumpkin soup, fries, and fried chicken fingers, all of which were excellent. The pumpkin soup in particular was outstanding - the pumpkin taste shone through, accentuated with a hint of herbs (parsley?), perfect for a cold and rainy winter's day I loved the Piper West Coast ale as well - wonderfully hoppy with a delightful long bitter finish. My kids couldn't stop devouring the fries and chicken fingers, both of which were tender inside and remarkably crispy outside. Finally, service was prompt, professional, efficient, and always cheerful. Even the staff clearing our wiped-out plates did it with a smile. We regret we never got to know their names (feedback - give them some name tags?) 5 stars for sure, and we will recommend it to friends who pass through the area.”

I was delighted with the response I received as nothing was too much trouble. I agreed on a salad. When we arrived, I spoke to the cook who was very obliging and approached me twice to suggest variations to my chosen meal. The rest of the family thoroughly enjoyed their food and declared it to be the best Korean food they’d tried. The wait staff were also very courteous and prompt.”

“Function centre to the left, café to the right. Red cars park to the right of the entrance, white cars to the left. We had a plan to get a coffee and go for a walk around the wetlands. The cakes looked too good, had to return to taste some. I saw people enjoying their meals. Unfortunately the café closes at 4 so we need to return for a lunch some other time. Friendly, fast service; great cakes, coffee made the way I ordered. Recommended!”

“We had breakfast this morning and were not disappointed. Our eggs were made to perfection by Apprentice Chef Sean and the meal was topped off with Polenta Chips and a great coffee. The staff are so friendly and we were looked after by the lovely Mary. On top of a delicious breakfast, I was able to do a bit of shopping to take home. They have a huge selection of wines, pantry foods and gifts. I highly recommend Mercato and will be going back for more!”
