“Our air b&b was one door away from the restaurant. We attempted to go Friday night but they were closed for a private event. Booked a reservation for 8pm Saturday night. Arrived and were greeted by a gentleman who I think was the owner. We were quickly seated and the owner brought over a chair and chatted with us. It was really nice. He then looked at us with no menus and asked what we wanted to eat. Shocked, we inquired what’s in the menu. He then said he would make us what we wanted. So we took his recommendations and did bruschetta and carbonara. It was the nicest ordering experience I’d ever had. Felt like he curated the menu just for us. Food was amazing - fresh and well prepared. All served family style. I loved the experience so much! There was no music and the ambiance is rustic wine cellar like. I’d highly recommend but I don’t look at the photos and expect that to be available. I think he decides what to cook each day. Highly, highly recommended!”

“First of all, very friendly and professional staff. We felt very comfortable. Thank you for your kindness. Second of all, we liked the sourdough bread and the homemade sauces, we thought that it was special. The wine was very good, enjoyed it a lot. But the main course didn't convince us too much tbh. The pasta was too al dente (the gramigna, the maccheroni was fine) and very salty, so that I couldn't really eat it. Therefore the desert was tasty. And we didn't understand the concept. Nice wineglasses but plastic cups for water doesn't make too much sense. Other than that, good experience, had a lovely evening and would come back. Grazie.”

“I love that place, when I wish a good pizza I usually go here. Pizza is really good, perfectly digestible and made with good ingredients, moreover there are a lot of pizzas in the menu, including pizza with pasta (trust me, if you haven't tried it yet, do it) and sweet pizzas. Also the ambience is enjoyable thanks to the staff. And prices are right for what you eat, not so expensive and not too cheap (€ 6.5 - 7 for a pizza). The only bad point is that it is difficult to reach this place without a car. Apart from that, it's a great restaurant in my opinion.”

“What a hit! This restaurant is so calm, so easy going and small. The stuff are arranged and the atmosphere is just alike. And - so is the food. Very gentle and yet have a lot of presence. The tastes are out of this world, and even the prosciutto pasta -which is quite fat, feels so light, not fatty, and harmonic. My friend and I announced at the beginning that we would share all the dishes, and they were so smart and kind that every dish was served in two seperate plates, always very fast. The chef told us that all the dished are made as he learned them from his father and ancestors, even with the same wheat. So you get fast, authentic and one of a kind dishes in fair price.”

“Where do l start???? The bread rolls are old and the focaccia is stale. The waiter reminded me of Manuel from Fawlty Towers. The owner looks 95 and can barely walk. I love the elderly and have all the respect in the world for them…but. His son in law had to joke with him that he offered the tap water to my dog so l didn’t get charged. The tortellini is not home made, either is the broth. That in itself merits one star. The tagliatelle came with one tablespoon of ragu on top l had to ask for more. It was the smallest portion of pasta l have ever seen in Italy. The rabbit was lovely however one piece was perfectly tender and one piece was dry. I gave it to my dog. I ordered the rabbit as the lamb shank that comes with potatoes wasn’t available on the menu anymore l was told rather bluntly. I later heard Manuel explain nicely to the German women they had sold out. The portions are tiny. That’s why the prices seem so attractive. Beware! Back to Manuel. He didn’t smile. He had zero personality. With me that is. The German women who ordered a bottle of wine got all his smiles. I only ordered half a litre in a carafe…so l was scum in his eyes. He turns away people non stop, tells them the restaurant is booked out. It’s not…..all lies…. He is slow too…. Zero ambience also. He told me no dishes on the regular menu were available when l asked to see it and only the special menu items were available. More lies. Such a disappointing experience for my one night dining experience in Bologna. Don’t be stupid and believe the great reviews like l did. I am a chef. I know the difference between good food and average food. Last time l was in Bologna l ate dinner at Trattoria Amedeo it was absolutely mind blowing. Total Perfection !!! Don’t be a fool like l was and threw €3 away on a very average evening and meal.”
