“Very small pizza joint serving New York style pizza. Came here on a rainy day and was able to get the last table. Ordered a cheese slice and pepperoni slice. The server was great and was able to get me a side of pineapples for my toddler as they didn't have any Hawaiian pizza available in slice format. She really went above and beyond. Decent prices on draft beer and the dirty water IPA was great and I'd recommend it.”

“This cavernous brewery looks tiny from the outside, but upon entering you realize it's deceptively large.with exposed brick, gothic arches, and barrel decorations, the vibe is wine cellar chic. Whether you want to sit down for a meal or have some brews at the bar, there is something here for everyone. The beer was all pretty good from what I tried. I probably most enjoyed the stout. Smooth with great complex flavor with almost no bitterness. The food here mostly seems very good from what I saw. I did try the bao buns which were super fresh and tasty with crisp chicken and soft cloud-like buns. It tasted super fresh but I wasn't the biggest fan. I found them to be overly sweet (they do call it sweet chili bao buns on the menu, so I guess that's on me) and something acidic would have gone a long way to breaking up the sugary sweetness. Also, two of the four buns had only a tiny nugget of chicken, leaving me with crunchless soft sticky sweet buns. The microgreens scattered over it added some great flavor boost. I had a great time hanging out here and if you are walking around downtown or across the street in the park, I highly recommend popping in here for a bite and a brew.”

“We were visiting from out of town and wanted to see what all the buzz was for Charlies and their breakfast. Our visit was initially met with an issue as we are not coffee drinkers so in the morning time we bring our own energy drinks for our breakfast drink of choice. The waitress (the oldest one working on the schedule on Sunday 1/7/24) spoke to us a rude/no personality voice that we were not allowed to drink outside drinks inside. We told her no worries and if they had other energy drinks to offer we would buy those, she said no. So then we just left our unopened energy drinks in the table and said we will just take water. At this point the waitress acted frustrated because we only ordered water and not purchased any drinks and gave attitude or NO PERSONALITY for the rest of our time there. And it was definitely this situation since we observed her walking around talking normal to the other customers. So hence why service was a 1 star from us for running our experience there. As for the food it was what it was billed as - Everything had huge portions and the quality and flavor of each item was amazing !!!! So with that, it made us feel better for coming once you separate the service from this one waitress. Side Note the Banana Bread French Toast is a MUST try !!!!”

“We made reservations well in advance here for Christmas Eve as it was among the handful of North End restaurants we had not yet tried. We arrived five minutes early only to learn our reservations had apparently been given away although there were two inviting-looking empty tables, each for two, in front where you walk in. We were never afforded an explanation. We were instead, traipsed on what seemed to be an endless journey, down not one, but two flights of stairs, descending into a very stuffy, mal-odoured basement where I was certain we were going be seated in a broom closet.. As it turns out, I was not that far off. We arrived at a table just outside a basement door where I could hear dishes being washed. It was a table shoved into a corner of what appeared to be a dark hallway used to store things. In fact, I think the broom closet would have been a step up...phrases like bottom-run patron, second-class citizen, and unimportant come to mind when thinking about this experience. Can't say anything about food, but what I can say is -- Casarecce has been crossed of our list of places to try.”

It really took me for a ride down memory lane, back to the days when I walked the dingy alleyways of Central South Korea. You get bang for your buck and the broth for the standard ramen is a nice blend of flavors. I would like to try a spicier bowl next time. In order to testify to the people, I also got the chicken appetizer with the house made sauce. This is something you can skip as it was a bit dry. Next time, I will get the takoyaki or just skip the appetizer altogether. I also had a misunderstanding with the server. I thought she was asking me if I was done with the appetizer, and when I said yes, she dumped everything into the bowl when I had the strongest desire to kill of the broth and whatever was hiding underneath that ocean of flavor but no harm no foul. If it's a cold or rainy day in the area and it's feeding time, I'm going to Ishindo.”

Sign of freshness. It didn't disappoint. Order double lobster, with the $10 option for noodles. Tested their $7 surf clam. If it ain't good, I'll just throw $7 away. No harm trying. Boy,.... That's $7 well spent! The surf clam is part tender, part chewy, lots of garlic. This is the go to dish for me from now on. Cheap, tasty, fresh.... It's like I found my treasure chest in Boston! Half way thru, there were line up for tables. So if you see lots of Chinese in the restaurant, food should be decent.”
