While there are many places to grab sushi around town, it's a MUST to recognize the ones that set the bar higher than the rest. Bloofin is one of those spots. Just like the food it serves, the restaurant is clean, modern, and inviting. The menu has an everything from simple wine & sake to specialty cocktails, from basic sushi & rolls to extravagant dishes that include the likes of wagyu, king crab, lobster, foie gras, and uni. Everything if fresh & PHENOMENAL. Can't forget to mention that service is also outstanding, which seems to be so hard to come by these days. As soon as we entered, the hosts were welcoming. Our waitress for the evening was Hannah, and she was a joy - so friendly and pleasant... And, the other staff members assisting her with bringing food to our table were also very prompt & attentive. This made our whole experience extra delightful. Already love this place...We will ABSOLUTELY be back!!!”

Don't worry there are plenty of choices and there's always gumbo and etouffee. The flavors deep, dark, a little funky. Service is minimal - you order at the counter, she brings you the food, then you go back to the counter and get your silverware and napkins. There are at least two TVs on different channels and turned to max volume. I you're the only one in the dining room you can watch whatever you want. The place is dirty - the kitchen is in the middle of the first room and the pots are black with rolling fire. Like I said, authentic. The furniture is scratched and old and cheap. This restaurant and Pam herself are right out of Central Casting for a South Louisiana bayou. There may not be another place like this in Houston and for that reason alone it's worth going.”

“One Shot Pocha has become one of my favorite Korean spots in town and I have eaten here many times. Due to their popularity, the large parking lot can often get quite full so finding parking can be a challenge. To be honest, though, to get the full experience here you should for sure be ubering. The staff have always been very kind and accommodating and the atmosphere is lively with ample Korean pop culture decorations and music, neon lighting, and a decent volume level. You can expect this place to be near or at capacity on most nights, and getting a table may take a while but it has always been worth it for my friends and I. The food usually comes out pretty quickly and is always hot. I have tried the majority of the menu at this point and have yet to try something I do not like. The food is as good as it looks so I will let the pictures below do most of the talking. While I have not tried the karaoke rooms here I can confidently say if you're looking for a late-night Korean spot to eat and/or get drinks you can't go wrong with One Shot Pocha.”

“We've seen this restaurant change names two or three times in the last years, finally Carnitas Mexican Grill seems to have worked. Instead of having to drive closer into town for Mexican breakfast (when I don't feel like cooking) we like coming here. It is a counter service restaurant so you'll pay for your meal before you receive it. I usually stick to the same dish, Super Breakfast, which has a little bit of everything that I want. Eggs, chilaquiles, beans, chorizo and potatoes. The food is good, but I feel like it's not hot enough, hot as in temperature. The chilaquile sauce is not spicy at all, which is great for someone who doesn't like spice. I on the other hand, prefer spice. We ordered a side of bacon and it truly was horrible. The texture was similar to carne seca or beef jerky. When we brought it up to the waitress, she agreed the bacon was overcooked and brought out fresh bacon, this time cooked to perfection. The flour tortillas are fresh and hot! If you order coffee, you'll have to pour it yourself, which is not an issue. We will continue to visit as it is convenient for us.”
