“Celebrated our son’s birthday at the Antique Bar & Bakery! Loved the atmosphere!! The menu reads like a movie script! There’s movies playing on the walls— circa the 1960’s with scenes of Hoboken. Our Server Jack was AWESOME! He knew the drink and food menu well. Appreciated his recommendations! We made reservations and we were seated while we waited for my daughter and boyfriend. Enjoyed cocktails! Once we were all there!, Jack informed us! We need to place the entire order- appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts! He gave us plenty of time to look over menu! Appetizers were delicious! The meat special was served with sides. The short rib was served over mashed potatoes with a spicy kick. The rest of entrees, you needed to order sides. We ordered way too many sides! The carrots were my favorite side! I absolutely love bread pudding! This bread pudding was top notch! Loved it!!! From the presentation to the taste! And you can order the bread pudding online with goldbelly! We got our check inside a book! Clever!!! Suggest you make reservations! Plan ahead, always traffic to get to Hoboken and you have to find metered street parking. You have to feed the meter until 9pm. Noticed on Sundays they serve brunch! Since it wasn't too far from our place we were staying we took a chance and booked a reservation. Casa Bellisima did not disappoint!!! We got there a little early and we had a drink at the bar. The bartender was very nice and got us a drink right away. When we were ready for our table we were sat right away. Our server was very nice but shy. We had the mussels fra Diablo and arancini for apps. Absolutely excellent! The fra Diablo sauce was so good. It had perfect balance of spiciness to it. For dinner I had the zuppa de pescae over capellini. It was full of sea food that all tasted fresh. It was to die for and my husband had the veal Colombo. Which was mouth watering. “Excellent Italian American bakery with all the classic favorites. The eclair had the best custard cream I have ever had, brownies are excellent and did not yet try the Napoleon or lobster tail. Italian bread had great hard crust the way it should and makes a great Italian sandwich. I found this bakery because I was looking for a place to buy some pastries to bring to a friends house as I was coming from a distance in south Jersey. They were so good I decided to stop again on the way home and bring an assortment of pastries for back home. Really loved this place, it reminded me of the great bakeries of Long Island and Brooklyn of the 70s and 80s.”
