“We came here especially for the New Years brunch and were very disappointed. As vegetarians there was hardly no food, the live music was a nice touch however it was only ok. The kids were excited about the idea of a pool, but not being heated and having no changing areas near the main pool made it unusable. The service was also ok, startimg at the door it was just assumed you knew where to go, the Oberoi for example walked us right through and had someone always around to support. The 2 stars are for the amazing scenery at the location, truly well designed and a real Palace feel. I would not recommend this place if you're a vegetarian or if you're looking for the sort of pampered taken care of type of holiday.”

A lot of choice in the menu. The only thing is the location. You need a taxi if you stay in the Medina, it's a bit far from there, but for 50 dirham can you get there”

“First of all, this is absolutely a 5-star hotel in terms of the physical property. The building is breathtaking, the location is perfect, the services offered, from the in-house restaurant to the spa to the rooms are really quite difficult to fault, at least on paper. Unfortunately, this is where the good seems to end. There are a number of recent reviews heavily criticizing the service here. We decided to ignore them, figuring it was likely just a few one-off bad experienced, and that ours would be better. This was a mistake. The service is some of the worst I have received period, from any hotel. The full list of complaints is too long and detailed to really convey here, but suffice to say, the short of it is that we were constantly made to feel a burden to the staff. At every turn, it seems they tried to do as little as possible to assist. One such example, when we asked if they could spell the name of a restaurant they suggested, we were told "no." Didn't ask if they could make a reservation for us, escort us to there, or even (god forbid) print out a map or listing of the restaurant, just asked to spell it. When we arrive our first night to a shower drain that failed to function, we had to try 4 separate times to get it repaired, each time them sending up the same person, a bellhop, to do the work, and telling us that we were wrong that the drain was broken. The video we have of the shower overflowing after each "repair" would seem to suggest we weren't indeed wrong. We asked prior to arrival if they could arrange shipping of some souvenirs home, they assured us it wasn't a problem, I'll let you guess how that turned out. Service was bad to the point that one evening, the bartender running the rooftop bar, which was losing power every few minutes and staffed by one sole bartender for 40+ guests, was evening complaining. The list goes on for much longer, and in some cases, more egregious offenses. Worst of all, when we reached out to the property to share our experience, they failed to even reply. No apology, no cut and paste PR reply, not even an email confirming they had received our (now numerous) emails - just radio silence. The primary issue seemed to be two fold, the first being that the hotel is understaffed, the second being that (some of) the staff that was there seemed to be poorly trained in hospitality. Really, there are too many great Riads and other accommodations in Fes to bother staying here - do yourself a favor and find another.”

“From the smell when you entered from the main door to the room, everything during our stay ( 4 days) was perfect. The hotel is curated with taste, decor with many details, and crafts. The service was impeccable. All this said, our stay would only have been this flawless with Kareem at the front desk and Badreddine ( breakfast restaurant). They went above and beyond to facilitate our first visit to Morroco. In addition, the cleaning service every day was impressive. After an exhausting day, the spa is a must, followed by the rooftop bar or the restaurant, both excellent (favorite: creme brulée). Many thanks and I can't wait to come back.”

“I celebrated my 30th birthday staying at Riad Anya with 20 friends for a weekend in February. The whole experience was truly unforgettable. Not only the Riad is stunning (even more beautiful than in the pictures), with a magical atmosphere that make you feel immersed in the morrocan traditions. But what really made the difference was the kindness and availability of the whole staff! They were exceptionally welcoming and really made our weekend, helping us throughout. We had a big dinner in the Riad on Friday and the food was honestly one of the best we had in the entire weekend, together with the breakfast in the mornings. “Upon arrival we were asked to leave a deposit of around £400 which was something we should definitely been informed of prior to arriving but it was okay. Rooms were lovely and the air conditioning was top notch. Food was great the whole time and really high quality. Lots of very nice staff with the exception of a few who I found a bit stand off-ish and rude. Laughing and joking whilst looking at me made me a little uncomfortable. Regardless I would 100% recommend this hotel as it was amazing”

“The receptionist lady is ever so RUDE, she does not know how to speak to valued customers, I was offended the way she spoke to me. I found her to be discriminating against different ethnic origin. Meaning she would ask one group “ How are you?” and completely ignore the other group. She needs to get sacked. I told her off then the helped me with the Taxi because they were charging us double, triple. I got the room changed because 1st room had no bedding. The Manager is very calm and polite which was good to see. Breakfast was basic juice finished the they said no more. Kids got told off in the pool because they were enjoying themselves, they did not like to see this, had 3 people including the manager stood outside and starred at the children., which was intimidating. Cleaners were outstanding and welcoming anything you need they would respond immediately and are very friendly.”
