“Had a great stay here in Feb 2023 . Not near town ( 20 minute walk or taxi ) but good bus service to ski fields and there is a pub and a few restaraunts near by . Enjoyed the Onsen and yes breakfast was pretty much the same everyday but got you going . Romain the English speaking Frenchman made our trip a beauty ! He knew all bus / train info or would find out , knew all info on ski fields , rental places etc he would book taxis , restaraunts etc . He never seemed to get sick of our stupid questions ! I am sure the rest of the staff are equally as brilliant but because poor Romain spoke English he got us !!”

“This was by far the best hotel we have been to in Japan!! The service was amazing, they were all so kind and so welcoming. The rooms were cosy and always very clean. They offered a cleaning service everyday which was amazing. It was in a great location, very close to everything, and was overall 10/10. The services they provided were so good, a free icypole, yakult, and free drinks every day! and the natural hot springs were so nice!! Will definitely be coming back next time!”

“This is a gorgeous area no matter what the time of year. Right now the green leaves are just starting to sprout and there are a variety of different Pines in the area soon to look very beautiful. The Onsen is very hot and there's an outside which is very beautiful and the water is a very murky White. It's supposed to be really good for your skin. Lovely surroundings. Also there is a beautiful waterfall which opens in May and is open until October. Definitely a sight to see if you are interested in waterfalls.”

“We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay of 1 night, inclusive of breakfast and dinner. We stayed in their traditional style Japanese rooms without a shower. The room is spacious and clean. The ambiance and aesthetic of the hotel were on point. The food was unbelievably delicious and the presentation was mesmerizing. Love that they offered us an English menu with our names printed on it. Communication wasn’t an issue for us. The service was above and beyond. We had asked for one serving of dessert only because we were extremely full. They saved the other set for us to eat during breakfast and they actually served it to us during breakfast without any reminder! Booking the private onsens was super easy. We got to use all 3 options during one night stay. The hotel was not very busy, so maybe this is why. They were individually unique and clean. They all include showers. Since booking them was so easy we didn’t use their public onsen. We want to give a big Thank You to all the staff for making our stay very special and memorable. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking to see Matsumoto! Only 20 mins bus ride from the Matsumoto station! The strawberry farm nearby is a must visit for super sweet and juicy strawberries 🍓”

“It was the smallest room we had during 2 weeks in Japan. Also beds the least comfortable and the bunk bed above us was sooooo squeaky it was difficult to sleep during night. Public onsen not great either in compare to other hotels. Big plus is breakfast served in the morning and included in price already. Nice selection of Japanese and Western style food. Another plus - free toiletries for women. Big selection.”

“Our Hotel/ Hostel was very nice from the appearance at first! Then we noticed the room was not cleaned and it was very disgusting to see someone’s contact lens right in the middle of the floor! Also we had to move the bed to the wall..Also we was not allowed to use the Hot Springs during this time when it was one of the reasons I booked there! Unbelievable! Then when Checking out it took over 10 minutes and the Staff asking our names 3 times! My friend and I will never stay there again and I wouldn’t even rate this place 1 Star.”

The hotel also has parking, but you must inform in advance.”

“I had the pleasure of staying at this property for a week. Located in the picturesque town of Karuizawa, this hotel offers a serene and luxurious retreat for those seeking relaxation and tranquility. This is about a 3 hour private car drive from the NRT airport in Tokyo. One of the highlights of my stay was the remarkable 2nd-floor suite. Upon entering the suite, I was immediately struck by its quietness and spaciousness. The suite was designed with comfort in mind, featuring a tastefully decorated living area, a cozy bedroom, and a well-appointed bathroom. The peace and quiet of the suite allowed me to unwind and truly escape from the outside world. After a long day of touring the area, the in room onsen (hot spring) at the hotel was a perfect way to rejuvenate. The soothing hot water and serene ambiance provided a much-needed respite for my tired body. You can set the temperature and drink a bottle of Champagne in the comfort of your room. The wrap-around balcony in the suite provided breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The views were simply mesmerizing and added an extra layer of tranquility to my stay. While the hotel is located a bit outside the main tourist areas, it is well worth the journey. Most of the sights in the area are approximately 1.5 to 2 hours away, so having a car is a must. However, the secluded location of the hotel ensures a peaceful and serene atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The Hiramatsu Karuizawa Miyota Hotel also takes great care of its guests' well-being. They provide high-quality skin and hair products, ensuring that every aspect of your stay is luxurious. The staff members deserve special praise for their exceptional service. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The hotel also has an on site washer and dryer to use for long trips. Finally, I cannot fail to mention the pristine condition of the property. The hotel is meticulously maintained, and every corner is spotless. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the immaculate rooms to the well-manicured gardens.”

“Customer service at this hotel was without a doubt the absolute worst I have ever experienced. 2 separate rooms were booked months in advance and then on arrival we were hit with a $1600 bill saying that the hotel had changed its policy and only 1 occupant would be allowed in each of the room. We booked 2 full size rooms for obviously 2 people to stay in each and to be hit with this bill on arrival 2 months after booking is absolutely ridiculous and disgusting. As if this wasn’t enough, we were then told we were not allowed to use any of the facilities in the complex until it was sorted. Part of these facilities were showers so we were unable to use the showers after checking in that night and as they didn’t manage to sort it by the next day we were then unable to use the showers the next morning. Obviously after a day of snowboarding, not be able to use a shower to wash and warm up was bloody horrible. Overall our experience at this hotel was horrible, we would definitely not recommend and most definitely will not be coming back.”

“You can a discount with the soft serve at the cafeteria if you enter the onsen so don’t throw away the ticket. We came here on the way home from camping at Marine Dream at Itoigawa, so it was a good stopover from a long drive. The relaxation space has a TV and a tatami room so it was convenient to have our infant crawl around. The bathing area had a sauna that could seat around 3 people with social distancing. Basic bathing amenities were provided. The outdoor bath had iron-infused water and was very soothing on my sore back. The roadside station had a lot of goods to do window shopping as well as regular shopping.”
