The beach is quite far from the hotel so it’s better to get hotel bikes to get there. The swimming pool is big enough to swim and for the kids, but in august during our stay water super cold. “I first visited this hotel back in 2017 and was so impressed I vowed to return as soon as I could. We stayed last week for 5 nights and once again it was very good but I didn’t feel the same vibe; maybe as it was peak season. The highlights are the staff, who are incredible attentive and friendly and the pool. On arrival we were greeted with welcome drinks and snacks and there were rose petals laid on the bed. These little touches really add to you feeling welcomed. Breakfast is extensive but you do have to pick what you want from a large menu the day before. This can be a bit annoying as you don’t know what you’ll fancy in the mornings. Dinner was nice but heavily seafood orientated. Service was excellent as ever. You get a surprise snack around the pool everyday which is a lovely touch. Although, I couldn’t help but compare it to previously where there was a pool service and the staff regularly checked to see if you wanted a drink and would bring out complimentary olives, for example. This time it lacked a bit of that and I guess it was because of it being busier. That is not to detract from the hard working staff though; if you needed anything there was also someone around to ask. The pool is very nice, with whirlpool areas and we easily spent all day there. Unfortunately, it is next to a road and as it was peak season it was rather loud. I’m sure before they used to leave the waterfall feature running and that blocked out some of the noise. This time you had to press a button and it only comes on for around 15 seconds. There are plenty of beds and there was never a rush to secure one. However, this does mean the beds are a bit cramped and bunched together. I would suggest the hotel looks at changing the decking though; it is looking a bit tired and worn now and it gets ridiculously hot in the sun. The rooms are nice and the bathroom was lovely with a walk in shower. The shower head did need cleaning though as some of the holes were blocked and water sprayed in numerous directions. There is a window between the bathroom and bedroom… so if you and your partner aren’t that close that may be a problem. We weren’t overly keen on being able to see the other on the toilet. The wooden flooring could use a refresh as it is looking a bit outdated now. There was a distinct lack of sockets too; none by the bed! There is a minibar but it only had two bottles of water in and was never refilled. There is a kettle and coffee etc but no milk. There was no iron or ironing board and reception didn’t offer one either. They give you dressing gowns but they were extremely crisp to the point of being exfoliating. Weirdly they didn’t offer any slippers which would have been nice. They do give flip flops but the sizes just don’t work and they aren’t comfortable. They do offer a laundry service but we like to use an iron/board as and when we need it. It’s also worth noting it’s not an adults only hotel. I had assumed (for some reason; maybe because last time I didn’t see any) that it was but there were several families with teenagers and a young child. I definitely think it detracted from the ethos of being a boutique relaxation hotel and spa. There was plenty of parking for private vehicles and the town of Garda is just down the road. It’s about a 15 minute walk. They do offer cycles at the hotel but with how busy the main road was we didn’t want to risk it. I believe they also offer a shuttle service. Overall, a wonderful boutique hotel with staff that really make it an enjoyable stay. If I was to return it would have to be off season and adults only.”

“Though not easy to find despite being on a prominent street downtown, once you find it, you arrive at a well managed haven for the traveller. Check-in was swift and smooth, with Nicole and Alice at the desk. Nicole briefed us efficiently off a map on what and how to do. This made it possible for us to experience the beautiful little town easily by walking all over the important sites two times over in a span of 24 hours. Briskly first in 2 hours and a follow up visit to those sites that we wished to see in detail, on the next day. The room was comfortable and clean. Buffet breakfast was of adequate variety and tasty. The lone lady chef managed the catering efficiently. A well run property managed entirely by women Highly recommended”

“We stayed 2 nights in one of the annex rooms which had direct access to the lawns, perfect for our dog. All of the staff were brilliant: cheery, helpful and generous. The breakfast buffet had everything we wanted, the views were great and the atmosphere was very relaxing. There is a regular bus service into Belluno, but we never used it as it's only a 30 minute walk. The finish wasn't perfect but the hotel had character and history. For the price, we happily give Villa Carpenada 5 stars!”

“We just had the most wonderful week at this hotel. I kept thinking I had got something wrong with the price because it seemed so reasonable for 5 star treatment. The view alone from the terrace was ridiculously beautiful. The breakfast each morning was amazing with so much healthy choice and such great service form the staff. The chef does an evening meal which was so excellent that we just couldn't risk going anywhere else so we stayed there every night. There's a set menu which changes daily, it's not expensive and we felt it was like fine dining. Sitting there at night with a bottle of wine, that view and this five course meal was unbeatable. Away from the busy town but close enough to walk there, this hotel is a little gem. Peaceful and quiet with a lovely pool that was never too busy, just a few guests here and there through the day. We even had a massage and sauna. I honestly felt renewed and will definitely visit again. We felt like the staff make you their friend while you're there, nothing is too much trouble and they are super kind and welcoming. I was sad to leave this wonderful place. Thank you Capri. XXXX”

“The perfect spot for a long weekend in beautiful Verona. Only a 20-minute walk from the main bus station and tucked quietly right behind the Piazza Bra. All the sights, galleries and museums were easily walkable and the area is packed full of lovely bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. The service was second to none, friendly and accommodating; we were upgraded to a larger room, given local recommendations and even offered use of the bar and toilet facilities and somewhere to leave our bags as we had a late flight. The bed was huge and although I found it really comfortable, my partner found it a bit too firm (personal preference). There was a minibar but I would have like tea and coffee making facilities ideally. That is the only reason I have given 4 stars for the room as otherwise it was quaintly characterful, lovely and clean with free toiletries and an unusually good hairdryer for a hotel. I would not hesitate to recommend this little gem of a hotel and already have done to some friends!”
