“Large rooms, quite cold in winter; owner is clearly pretty cheap as heating is shutdown during the night. Owner also charged us for breaking a boiling pot in ceramic that was not securely attached to the boiling pot and very fragile, clearly he's a bit tired and cheap... Also 28euro for the spa per person is quite expensive as he pushes to limit it for only one hour per reservation. Could have been much better and clearly nothing has been done to the rooms for 20 years and the pillows are really not confortable. Cash machine for the owner. Not only is this a cash machine for a lazy owner but he LIES in his reply claiming we somehow "stained" with beer bottles (we don't drink beer, we actually bought 2 bottles of wine of them (what a mistake to encourage such crooks!). Tissues on the floor?He probably means towels left on the floor when leaving the room at the end of the stay as it's supposed to be done. We spent around 1k euro on this property in 5 nights which is expensive and the owner complains?? We left the room pristine, as clean as you can get, but resorting to lies only shows the type of fake smile character he really is (you'll see) This owner is really dishonest loser, clearly. Looking forward for his retirement as he's tired of people as he told us and it shows. Grumpy old man. sad. I would avoid this place!”

“Didn’t stay stay at the hotel but ate at the restaurant - a tucked away gem of a find. The setting is a gorgeous romantic terrace, lights strung up in the trees, friendly & accommodating service from the two gents run off their feet! The menu is simple without too much choice and the fare absolutely delicious.”

“Overall I would not recommend this hotel for a vacation, I am shocked that this hotel made it on the SLH list. It is very dated and overall does not have a feel for a 5 star hotel. We decided to cut our stay short and was told that we could cancel the stay due to us being unhappy. When we go to check out, they unexpectedly charged us $400 in cancel fees which is more than a nightly stay and very disappointing.”

I think the food is not that great and pretty pricey for that amount and quality but it’s already one of the best in town. The view of the lake from the room is my favorite. The location is also quite convenient only if you drive.”

“I can't speak highly enough of this hotel.. We found ourselves stranded near le luc when our car broke down. The manager of the hotel offered a lift and conversed with the garage who had our car. We consequently spent two nights here and enjoyed every minute. The superior room was spacious with a seating area and a lovely view out of the large window The bed was huge and very comfortable. Great bathroom..... We ate on the terrace both nights, the food was outstanding (by far the best of our holiday), and the service impeccable! We had no choice but to spend the day round the lovely pool as we had no transport. The staff were super helpful, and gave us a lift to the train station on the day we left. Absolutely 5 star experience. Would highly recommend.”

“Having stayed at this hotel when it first opened many years ago I was thrilled to come back and see the beautiful refurbished space. The bedrooms are lovely, bright, modern and spacious. The service tries hard and is mostly great but the pool area needs more attentive servers. We went with two young children and whilst the hotel were welcoming it is very much not a child friendly hotel. No children’s menus and it has a very quiet, grown up feel. Especially around the swimming pool. I think I would have enjoyed the weekend much more if it had been an adult trip!”

“Nice place for a short hideaway from work or a town nearby. The surroundings are a bit business/industry orientated and there isn’t much around. You have everything you need inside the hotel, and the food of the restaurant is good. However if you plan to eat outside the hotel you’ll need to catch a car to some bigger town (i.E. Antibes is 20 minutes away). The pool area is great and the cocktails tasty. Same as other reviewers mentioned, some of the staff could improve their friendliness - but most of them were quite smiling and polite. Thank you for the stay!”

“It is worth it! We booked and then read the reviews however, the food was well worth it! Yes, the service is slow and the price is expensive HOWEVER, you are paying for an experience. A very laid back evening, no rush to give up your table for the next diner and food of exceptional taste and quality! It is worth noting this is a two "man" run establishment, 1 chef and 1 waitress and yes as a result service is slower but credit has to be given to these two for such exceptional food quality! I chose the tuna, not a dish I would ever usually choose and this was very tasty and the dessert, a HUGE milles fois that was divine! This is an eating experience and one well worth it!”

“To say that the service was lacking is an understatement. The rooms smell very bad, (my bathroom smelled like urine, and it is separate from the toilet). The corridors are creepy and tiny, the decor is horrible, and the rooms at the end of the corridor didn't have any wifi at all. When my parents said that the shower fills the entire bathroom with water the clerk didn't seem to care. When we asked to sit outside in a lit sitting area he blew us off not getting up from his seat when we mentioned that the garden is very dark. I can keep going but in conclusion - luckily for us we only had 1 night there and we could get away from there.”

“I stayed at this hotel for about 1 week and had a great experience overall. The staff at the front desk is helpful and speak multiple languages. Cleaning service was great and room was spacious. I didn’t spend much time inside the hotel (too many fun things to do in Nice!), but when I did, it was positive. Many people suggest staying in Old Nice, but I enjoyed this location and it is a nice walk to nearby attractions. I didn’t try the breakfast because in my opinion there are so many options nearby, but if you are in a rush then it might be worth it. My only suggestion for improvement is the bathroom. There was clear water damage on the ceiling and no fan to help reduce humidity after showering. I noticed after taking a bath that the paint bubbled up more. This is a health and safety hazard.”
