“Had a great time here! Super quiet location and sparkling clean apartments. The kitchen was fully loaded with all you could need to cook a meal with, including some snazzy aprons! The staff were excellent about removing towels from beds that people had placed early in the AM and didn't show-up for. There was always a spot available at 11AM (by the pool) which couldn't be said for other places! The other bed areas were a lot quieter, especially down by the round-beds. Those were hardly ever taken!”

“Excellent option for staying in peace and quiet at Tenerife, far from the large tourist-machines. Situated in the middle of a gated banana plantation, close to the sea, you can really relax and enjoy your stay. You will need a rental car to get around and the restaurant is so-so for dinner. Breakfast was very good, though. The employees were nice and service minded. The beds vere not very good- two single beds joined as a double- flimsy and hard. Modern shower/ bathroom and plenty of hot water and good water pressure. No fridge in the room- a big minus, but fridges available in shared spaces which worked ok. To those fearing insects, given that it is a banana plantation- don't. Bugs were not bothersome. There were some banana/fruit flies, but in general it was nothing to worry about.”

“Absolutely Amazing location near to the beach, However, we got the Apartment which was cold during the evening and had no sun during the day. It was a bit disappointing not to have the sun in the balcony. Breakfast and Lunch was not very fancy. Vegetable soup was served for consecutively 3 days in the lunch. As compared to other 4 stars hotels, this hotel breakfast was not really appealing. Omelette was served without any veggies. I can praise only for the dinner which had a chinese menu where you can eat noodles and as well as the spring rolls. Towels were replaced daily and the corridor light during the night disturbed us in the bedroom. Please write near to the dishes, if these dishes are vegetarian or not. Being a vegetarian, it was sometime harder to judge which was veg and non veg.”

“We had a great stay at this hotel for one week in Christmas time. The staff are friendly, helpful and present with a welcoming smile. The rooms are spacious and comfort and cleaning staff are doing a great job everyday. The pool is clean and quiet and combined with the gym is a great opportunity for doing exercise. “Very nice apartment hotel with great value for money. The room was spacious and clean. The kitchen had everything you would need, only the bathroom was a bit small. The only minus is that there is no air conditioning. Also, the pool is only open from 10am to 6 pm, but we later learned that this is rather normal on the Canary Islands. The hotel is located very centrally in Valle Gran Rey with a supermarket, a bakery and other smaller shops and restaurants just around the corner. The beach is just a 5 minutes walk away. They don't have dedicated parking but you will always find a spot on the street. The staff was very friendly and supportive whenever we needed something. We were staying here for a hiking vacation and will definitely consider staying here again if we ever come to La Gomera again.”

“Liked The apartment itself is large and spacious. The shower was great, the jacuzzi was temperamental at first but it was amazing afterwards. Fine sized TV and the large terrace was great to spend time on. Beds were a nice large double bed and pretty comfortable. And the receptionists were very kind and helpful. Dislikes The walls are paper thin, and you can hear the movements of other residence from the floors above and below, luckily they were quiet most nights but tended to be louder, with music, singing and dancing on Friday and Saturday night. The WiFi in the apartment isn’t good at all. The area itself didn’t really meet expectation, the city was okay and in walkable distance as was the beach. The rooms were only cleaned every second day and not all on Sundays, so in a 7 night stay our room was only cleaned twice. One of the days cleaning was arranged for 12pm, so we left, only to come back at 1:50 and the cleaner was outside smoking and wanted to clean our room when we came back. And was very rude when we told her we needed 15 minutes to get ready before leaving again. One night there was a stampede outside the accommodation over 2 rival gangs with what sounded like gunshots. When informed the accommodation, nothing was said. There is a lot of graffiti around telling nomads and tourists to “go home”. The rest of the island is suffering a migrant problem with thousands coming in per week. I would completely avoid Las Palmas and look at going to any other island in the Canary’s.”

“I just can’t recommend this beautiful boutique hotel enough. It’s just divine. The whole aesthetic of the building and the attention to detail with the design is absolutely stunning. Our room was gorgeous with a huge bed, vaulted ceiling and lovely bathroom. Food in the restaurant is high end and absolutely delicious. Staff are so friendly and accommodating and dining by the pool is absolutely wonderful. Love the push button for service. Our tip: take a drink up to the roof terrace in the evening for romantic views across the mountains and out to sea. Just magical.”

“I’ve been to Gran Can 8 times and stayed in 4 different hotels. Playa Del Sol had always been my go to, but after staying at the Axel it would now be my first choice. ALL of the staff are so friendly and nothing is too. Much trouble. The reception staff greeted you with a smile every time and the housekeeping staff were always so accommodating with times etc. The pool was clean and the bar staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel itself is quiet at night we always felt secure. Can’t recommend it enough as a safe, clean space whoever you are. Checking out this afternoon, but will definitely be back next year.”

“Very very good!! Lovely room, large, quiet, central location, check-in staff were very friendly and spoke english and recommended eateries which was very useful. The shower floods a little due to the shower tray design but a mop is provided so it's not a problem. There's bars and restaurants nearby, parking is on the street but we had no problem finding a parking space each day (visited beginning january 22). Beautiful garden with amazing tropical plants! Thankyou! We'll definitely stay again!”
