“it's an okay hotel. Spent 4 days here. Upon arrival the staff was not very friendly, more businesslike. When we arrived in the room, suspicious stains were immediately visible. In addition, there are also blood spatters on the lampshade. We were also not in the room we booked. We had booked a double room, but the room we ended up in was a family room for four people. Not a big deal, but it is nice if you are told this upon arrival. Beds were good. But it was way too hot in the room and hallway. When you came back from a walk it was like stepping into a sauna when you walked into the hallway. We have opened the balcony door a lot to make it a bit cooler. The hotel room was not cleaned on the second day, while the cleaning lady was busy in the hallway with other rooms. That's just a shame when you come back after a long day and the hotel room has not been taken care of. We also ran into a bit of trouble with the towels. There is no Do Not Disturb or Please Clean sign. The breakfast is simple, but tasty. The hot products such as eggs and bacon are not kept warm very well. So it is more lukewarm than warm.”

The owner was extremely friendly and kind, she prepared flowers and cava at my request for our first wedding anniversary. We also ate dinner and breakfast there, and it was beyond delicious! “Great appartements and very friendly staff! Good value for money. The location is awesome: a 3-minute walk away from a beautiful beach. Several restaurants are close and Nes (the closest village), where more restaurants and stores are located, is a short bike ride away. You can easily rent bikes through Landal or by simply going to the nearby bike rental (a 3-minute walk away if that and very cheap!). You can park right in front of the building, but there's so many other options for getting around (cheap taxi, cheap bus) that I'd recommend carefully considering whether you really need a car on Ameland.”
