“We spent 3 nights in this hotel and for the price and location it is difficult to beat. It's 4 minutes away from bus lines 2 and 3 which go in the city center and ~10 minutes from the S1 that goes to the airport. Our room was colorful and joyful. It was relatively well cleaned and quiet. There are facilities such as a ping pong table and several working/chill areas that are cool. We tried the breakfast (16 euros) but were left disappointed. Overall we appreciated our stay. The price is good and the staff helpful when you need them.”

“Nice and cozy little hotel with a peculiar "keg" design that I don't find very appealing. Location is okay as there is a lot of shopping/food places nearby, though the view from the rooms leaves a lot to be desired - you see nearby residential buildings, shops, and streets. The room itself was overcrowded with unnecessary furniture with no proper table. Color scheme and overall design could improve - more functionality and less quirk :)”

“The room and bathroom were nice, super modern and appeared clean- 24 hour check in was great also. Some of the pillows in the bed did not smell very fresh at all, this was a bit off putting. The room could do with a fan as there is no air conditioning and it was so hot. Unfortunately, some people were up quite late smoking and talking downstairs directly below the window making it hard to sleep. Otherwise it was nice, well located and friendly staff. I recommend Rotbuche for dinner across the road- really good spaghetti and rose!”

“We had a great stay here for a 3-day exploration of Hamburg! Breakfast was fantastic and the rooms modern, pretty & clean. The location is a little bit far from the city center, but there is a bus station just across the street, with frequent buses and the ride to the central station is just 20 minutes. The breakfast was really great with a great variety of everything, fresh egg dishes and very friendly staff. Lots of regional and handmade products, really lovely! As an extra we enjoyed the free minibar (only on the fifth floor, I guess the "suites") a lot!”

“Reached the hotel evening. Check in was quick. Got a room towards the lake view. Rooms comfortable and clean. Toilet was very high and legs hang while sitting 😀. Breakfast was ok but not wow taking into account the charges for a night. Provided 2 bottles of water with a note that " the 2 water bottles are on the house so that guest will not die of thirst" and 🤨. Location is good. The lake on front gives you fresh air and can spend time relaxing on the side of the lake. Running, cycling track around the lake.”

“Absolutely loved this hotel! Friendly staff (especially the lady at breakfast), clean spacious and quiet rooms, a great breakfast buffet and we appreciated the welcome drink voucher. The decor may be a little dated but in a stylish retro way, the bar and dining areas are lovely and a great place to sit for an evening drink and chat. I’ll definitely stay here again on any future trips to Hamburg.”

“I have never been to this hotel but I have seen a video footage of this hotel and it's been explained, that all of the staff has some sort of disability such as one staff was blind and a few had down syndrome. Just the management was enabled. I really liked the concept of this hotel that they support disabled people by giving them a job. Therefore I am giving this hotel a 5/5.”

“Exceptional visit! Just what we wanted plus more! Very reasonable priced small hotel, super clean, quiet, unusual amount of amenities and niceties for this price point, location 5 minutes from train station and 3 minutes from the harbor and a great tasting hot/cold breakfast buffet (for only 8 Euros each!) The staff was very friendly and accommodating too! We will stay no where else when in Hamburg!”

“The actual hostel is very nice, close enough to the airport to be able to walk there after a flight, the rooms are big and have high ceilings, lockers are always nice at a hostel and the beds were clean and came with fresh sheets! the only issue is the location, if you don’t care too much about that, then i would definitely suggest this place, if you want to be somewhere a little more exciting, chose some where else. Overall very nice & clean and good price!”

“I booked 5 nights. After 3 nights, i decided to leave for an other Hôtel. If you work during the night, you will quickly understand the consequences by yourself !!! The behavior was not in accordance with what a customer can expect even in a small hôtel. I don't enter in all details which are not so important if you take these independently, accumulation + pressure generate a strong disagreament. Leaving an hôtel immediately had never happen in all my life, especialy when you have only 2 remaining days. As a customer, be care when you book this hôtel, if you are not align with the common style of life.”

“Fritz in Pyjama shows how boutique hotels can be accessible. It's a low budget stay with some extra perks. Focus on detail, from the naming of the rooms, until the toiletries they use, all is very thought through. Very friendly staff who goes above and beyond, and I appreciated a kettle in the room. Unfortunately, the hotel can get stuffy in summer. The check-in is very late, and there's almost no space at the reception in case you'd like to leave your luggage, so bear this in mind. The check-in as at 4pm, and the reception closes at 5pm, which pretty much doesn't leave you much choice, and your flexibility is limited. The vicinity of S-Bahn line makes it a little noisier, but they provide you with ear plugs, which definitely helps. Other than that the location is flawless if you want to be in the center of a hip Hamburg Schanze district.”
