“Had a great short business trip here, and I have to tell you the staff is super friendly and accommodating. I was in town for a training session, in which a conference room was rented, and they went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. I felt that they went over and above by providing the A/V cables we needed as well as printed copies of documents and even AAA batteries. The location seems to be super convenient (I am not familiar with the area) with some restaurants within walking distance. I wish I would have gotten the staff member's names so I could highlight them here, but everyone I encountered was a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely return if I am ever back in Wausau!”

“After having quite the day of bad weather missed flights, and finally ending up in Milwaukee around midnight, I found myself without a room I called and the girl at the front desk Her name was Anastasia. Extremely nice. She immediately sent a shuttle over to the airport to pick me up and from the moment I walked in those doors the service was just excellent. I would highly recommend, this establishment the rooms were super clean even when I went to breakfast the next morning the staff was super friendly and nice thank you all for making me feel welcome”

“I had a great stay. Room was good. No closet but there are ample hooks by door if you needs to hang things. Don’t forget hangers! Common area was very nice. Better than my house! Parking in rear has enough space for count of rooms. Not enough space if people park stupid. I had a few questions while there and my texts were answered with lightening speed. My only complaint is my own fault and that is that I did not book the lone handicapped accessible room. At my age and that I live in a ranch house, I did not account for the two flights of very long stairs to get upstairs. Next time I’m getting the lone lower floor room that has its own kitchen. The neighborhood is fantastic. It’s also convenient to lots of cool places, especially the Bronze Fonz only ten minute drive. Loved it all!”

“Came here for my anniversary with my partner and it was truly worth the trip! I love the atmosphere in this space. Very romantic and it has a great vibe. We were greeted right away by the staff and they were so friendly. Our waitress was nice and very helpful. Since it was our first time we just did the unlimited tapas and it was pretty filling. We got it because we wanted to try everything and still couldn’t make it through everything. But overall the food and the experience was great and I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who is looking for a fun night out!”

“You cannot beat the location of this motel! We reserved a Lakeview room and that is exactly what we got! The view was great, allowing us to crack open the window and hear those wonderful Lake Michigan waves all night long. We only stayed one night but we will be back. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had a single queen room and found the two chairs to be comfortable to sit in while enjoying TV (turn off the volume so you can listen to the waves while watching football). The restaurant was wonderful as well. The stay includes breakfast (quite a few free choices) but you can order off the menu as well and receive a discount. We also ate at the restaurant on Sunday evening (for our anniversary) and the food was GREAT! We enjoyed a window table with views of the lake along with a cloud reflected sunset. I highly recommend!”

“I booked 2 nights for our 1 year anniversary. I called ahead to ask if they had a hot tub. The employee said there was a hot tub in our room. Great! We arrive and the room they tried to give us was a closet with a bed. I asked at the desk if there was some mix up. This being my gift to my husband for our 1 year anniversary I paid the extra $160 for an "upgrade." There was a jet tub that was filthy. We tried running a couple cycles of water through but there were particles come out. The thermostats kept adjusting back to 72. It was at least 75 each time we were in the room. We opened the windows at night and turned the AC on in the front room. At one point I kept the door completely open to help cool the place off. Don't use the dishes. They were dirty.”

“When my company booked this hotel, I had no say in it. It was done for me. Before checking in, I read other reviews, and they were not wrong about this place. Upon checking in, I was told by the front desk staff that the hot tub is not working.. I chuckled at that a little bit as that was in a lot of the reviews that I had read previously. I was told that gets hot. It just doesn't bubble. Okay, it's not a big deal. I wasn't planning on using it anyhow. The other things that were stated in prior reviews were NOT wrong at all. For example, the long black hairs on the shampoo bottles and on the shower floor, inside of the refrigerator, ALL over the place! Now, speaking of the refrigerator, which was again, previously reviewed on, I bought a few items, placed them in the fridge, and turned it on, thinking, well that was the problem, they didn't turn the fridge on. Nope, the next morning, my coffee creamer and everything else that I put in there all went in the trash as they were room temperature because the fridge NEVER turned on at all! FIX THE FRIDGE ISSUE! You have enough negative reviews on it. Fix it!! Also, if you are looking for a quiet place, don't come here. Noise from the next-door highway is constant and so loud that you would think that the window was open. You can hear every little peep from the hallways, and if you have someone in the room next to yours or above yours, good luck sleeping! Breakfast is edible at most, and I gave a 3 star to the service because of the issues not being addressed previously, but the front desk folks are nice.”

The room itself was spacious and well-suited for two people. It provided ample space for us to relax and unwind after a long day of activities. The comfortable bedding and well-maintained amenities added to the overall comfort and enjoyment of our stay. The hotel's location was conveniently situated, allowing easy access to the desired destinations of our visit. However, it is worth mentioning that there was construction taking place across the street from the hotel. I worked in my hotel room all day and didn't notice any noise from the construction. In conclusion, my experience at this hotel was overwhelmingly positive. The front desk staff's friendly and accommodating nature, the comfortable rooms, and convenient location contributed to a pleasant and enjoyable stay. “I just had one of those "vacations of a lifetime" and 99% due to my stay at the absolutely delightful Chanticleer Guest House. Gorgeous, well-maintained property just outside of Sturgeon Bay and before acres of cherry tree farms. My room, and all rooms, had it's own fireplace and expansive hot tub. Clean, comfortable and utterly charming. Dawn makes the most wonderful breakfasts, from her egg bakes to her out-of-this-world stuffed blueberry French toast with candied pecans. Everything was perfect and allowed me to completely unwind. I'll be booking my winter vacation here next!”

“This was a great lodging option for my first visit to Door County. Ephraim is a cute sleepy town. I loved the private water overlook area with chairs. The rooms were good. We enjoyed the hot tub. There is no elevator that I am aware of so keep that in mind for accessibility purposes. Bring quarters and soap if you want to do laundry, though the front desk did have change and soap available to purpose!”

“Our first time staying at a B&B was with Astor House and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Linda and Tom are so warm and welcoming; making sure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. As others have mentioned, the breakfasts every morning are incredible (award winning in fact!) and they change every day. I also appreciated how accommodating they were to my dietary needs. We opted to eat in the dining area for most of our trip and it was fun being able to meet other guests as well as hear fun stories Linda and Tom had about the Packers and the local area. There is also the option to have breakfast delivered outside your room which we appreciated when we had an early morning to go ice fishing. The room itself was spacious, clean, and cozy and I took advantage of the ginormous whirlpool bathtub to warm up after a day out in the cold. Overall we would be delighted to return and would highly recommend staying at Astor House, you won’t regret it!”

But, it is only 4.5 stars for one reason...the upstairs bed was rather lumpy and uncomfortable. The outdoor stairs and deck could use some paint or updating as well.”

“Great location easy on and off the highway. Great place to take kids under 12. Although the water park is showing it's age my daughter still loved it and had a great time. Good value as compared to many expensive water parks. The website needs to be updated as it states breakfast is included but it's not. Clerk was very nice and offered small compensation. If in the area I would definitely take my daughter back again as she spent hours playing in the pool.”

“Overall our experience was good at the AmericInn. Staff at check in were friendly and the lobby was clean and cozy. Rooms were a bit dated but we slept fine. “I enjoyed my two night stay at Country Villa Motel in mid October 2023. The coffee in the room was delicious. Each room has different decor, at least the two rooms I stayed in and according to photos I have seen online. I was initially only going to stay one night, checked out the next morning, but later that day I decided to stay a second night and made reservations for the second night. Both nights were quiet and peaceful. I slept well in the comfortable beds. Rooms are clean and well maintained. I also enjoyed the pizza and cheese curds I had at Bresina's Hometown Bar and Grill nearby Country Villa Motel. I will likely stay at Country Villa Motel again, if/when I am in the area again.”
