“My three-night honeymoon stay at Jinya was nothing short of magical. Each morning and evening, we were treated to fine dining that were the most delicious foods I've ever tasted. The warmth and hospitality of the staff at Jinya were heartwarming. Their attention to detail was remarkable – they remembered and incorporated the little things we mentioned, enhancing our stay immeasurably. Looking for a place to walk around, they lent us bicycles to visit a park that was hard to reach on foot. We really enjoyed it and were even able to see Mount Fuji from a distance. An unforgettable touch was the celebratory message for our honeymoon delicately written on our dinner plate, a gesture that deeply moved us. Both the private and public onsens were awesome. I loved walking around their beautiful garden and watching the cute koi fish. Having high expectations for a Ryokan, Jinya not only met but exceeded them in every way, leaving us profoundly touched. Their efforts to communicate with us, despite language barriers, ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for international guests. I wholeheartedly recommend Jinya, deserving of far more than a mere 5-star rating. This is a place that will linger in my heart and memories. P.S. Discovering that Hayao Miyazaki, the legendary animator, spent part of his childhood here added a layer of enchantment to our stay. Spotting a tree featured in 'My Neighbor Totoro' and seeing Miyazaki's signatures was a delightful bonus to our magical stay.”

“Just one big problem: be aware that when staying in rooms on higher floors, hot water pressure might be a problem sometimes at night and a couple of hours before checkout time. We had a great time here. The staff were polite and professional, the room was very clean and relatively spacious (Royal Suite), the food was OK, they don't won't charge you for taking drinks from the fridge... I can go on and on. It would be great if they could fix the water pressure problem but unfortunately I think that would require renovation of the entire building.”

“Location is phenomenal! The subway station is literally less than 5m away from the hotel. It’s roughly a 10 min walk to landmark tower and 1 stop away from Yokohama station which is great for restaurants. On the main floor there is a super market and restaurant. On the second floor there is a Starbucks. There’s also a 7/11 just across the street. In the lobby they have extra amenities like razors, bath salts, hair ties, and makeup remover! Service was amazing, our flight got delayed and they helped us check in despite it being so late, we greatly appreciated that. The rooms are very clean and well kept. Price is also great, there’s not a single thing I can complain about here.”

It was a lovely, calm environment and the original building is charming. The dinner and breakfast options included very generous portions of food, so we definitely didn’t go hungry! If you arrive via Gora station there is a convenient, free shuttle bus that can transport you to the hotel.”

“Quiet tattoo friendly onsen located near Tanzawa Lake. Situated about an hour from Yokosuka, Yokohama, and Tokyo on the Tanzawa Mountain. We came here because this onsen is 2 - 3 minutes away from our campsite, that we stayed at the night prior. Decent size, the water does not have as strong as a smell compared to most other onsen. However the male onsen did have massage sprayers in the indoor bath. The outside scenery adds to the unique theme.”

“The beds are a bit hard. And the wifi interference is crazy, so as a result Bluetooth devices will be flaky. Every single room has its own wifi, and it's quite slow, possibly also because of the monstrous amount of interference. If the hotel had a single wifi, with several repeaters per floor, it would be a million times better. Also, the breakfast is underwhelming at best.”

“Couldn’t ask for more. Great location which situated near the train station for easy access and getaway. The surroundings are full of bars & restaurants if travellers wanted to experience the local cuisines, especially walk into the narrow lanes. The hotel makes good use of the space. Although each units might be tiny for westerners, we found the room operated well to suit their functions. Not to mention there is a check-in machine which can print out your access card!! To sum up, we enjoyed our stay there. Very friendly staff, quiet environment, neat & tidy, great location. What more can you ask!! Just a minor suggestion for the tourists. The main building of the hotel is located away from the local road (like a dog leg). So, you need to walk a short distance along the driveway and turn left. Bang! You will see the main hotel building. Although there is a signage (see photo attached which taken at night time), you may likely to miss it (maybe Dr Google couldn’t keep up to your speed). We were lucky to be approached by one of the hotel staff and kindly point out the location. Thank you 🙏”

“Great gem in Hakone. Stayed for one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The facilities were clean and spacious. Hosts were exceptional, so nice and welcoming. Overall such a relaxing vibe. They had a fireplace going in the lounge and they had a bar and diner with decently priced meals. Close to a 7-11 and Lawsons if opting for convenience store food since stores here close early. Highly recommend!”

“Good for young people, I suppose. Not so accommodating to a middle-aged couple just coming in for tea and coffee. They have nice boardgames to play all about (beat my partner in Othello for the first time ever). But we probably would have stayed longer and had dinner there if the service wasn't so dismissive.”
