“This is a really lovely hotel. The staff are wonderfully helpful and polite. The scenery is beautiful in the summer months amd the surrounding areas and town are lovely places to visit although you need a car to get around. The rooms are very nice and beds are comfortable. The only gripe is we didn't have a shower in our room (just a bath with shower head that didn't attach to the wall). The breakfast was amazing. The building is spectacular and a real gem We really enjoyed our stay.”

“We were there in July in order to visit Mont Saint-Michel. We had a tent pitch which was fine, close to a big tree which gave some cover from the sun. We weren't close to the electric points but that wasn't a problem. The service block was close to the main building but not too far away and in good condition. For dinner we went to a local restaurant which was great but there aren't many other options (in walking distance) or shops near the campsite. We made our own dinner the 2nd evening. The campsite is surrounded by farms and has some animals you can visit on site. Overall it's a good campsite for visiting Mont Saint Michel. Seasonova is a chain of campsites so there may be some benefits for regular visitors.”

“I have mixed fillings about this hotel. It’s a beautiful historic building, location and water view are great. The rooms however are outdated, bedsheets were very old, you can tell they’ve washed a million times. We stayed 2 nights and the breakfast first morning was great, everything super fresh, unfortunately the second morning we were served old croissants and had to wait for coffee forever. There’s also a restaurant which we went to on the first night. Food was ok, nothing great. However what we didn’t like that our server was adding portions to our table because she thought 1 wouldn’t be enough to share. We ordered a cheese plate from the menu, but got charged for two, one was more than enough for us. Couple people from the staff were extremely helpful and nice, the rest was just there, maybe due to language barrier.. Overall those things didn’t add up to a 5 star experience. This hotel is far from 5 star. As much as we liked the location we won’t be back.”

“Our first night in Normandy, we stayed at the beautiful Château de Damigny near Bayeux. Our hosts Vincent & Corrine were so welcoming and it was such a unique experience! The breakfast and dinner, both extensive and traditional French, were absolutely amazing and made by Vincent! The chateau was a great location to explore Normandy and visit the beaches. If you are staying here, definitely opt in for the on-site dinner. We loved our stay and would highly recommend considering a chateau over a traditional hotel. “I was looking for a last-minute place to stay while in the area on 9.08.2023. I made a reservation at this hotel via Booking application and the dates jumped somehow and I ended up booking the room for the night of 15.12/16.12 instead of 9.08/10.08. That is not the problem of the hotel, of course, unlike what was happenning next. Not realizing I have the reservation for the wrong dates, I arrived to the hotel and tried to check-in with the machine. It couldn't find my reservation, so I called a phone number which was on the machine. A person came out of the hotel to try to help me and then I realised that I had the reservation for the wrong dates. Immediately, I sent the request to cancel the reservation for free. Less than 2 hours passed from my reservation to sending the cancellation request. The request to cancel an obviously mistakenly made reservation was declined. That's OK, I did make a reservation with no free cancellation, so they have the right to do that. The cancellation fee was 58,85 EUR. Next morning they charged me 70 EUR and then almost immediately 61,40 EUR. I had to go through Booking support to at least get my 70 EUR back in 2 weeks after that. They stole my 2,55 EUR, but fine - that's peanuts. Until the morning of 15.12 comes and they charge me again, and they again charge me twice! This time it's 60 EUR and again 60 EUR. For the cancelled reservation, which they already took the cancellation fee for (and a little more than that)! I again have to contact Booking support, and what the hotel says - "it's the deposit which is was released on 16.12 and is already in the customer's account". A deposit! For the cancelled reservation! Which they already took a cancellation fee for! Two deposits in fact! And of course they lie, I don't have money back in my account as of this moment, which is already 4 days after 16.12. And it forces me to spend time to fight with this to get my money back. Ridiculous and outrageous at the same time. Worst experience with a hotel ever.”

While summer is glorious (fresh seasonal ingredients, aperol spritz by the pool, plenty to see and explore nearby), the fall was equally as charming. We received a warm welcome by the owner and stayed in room 12 (highly recommended), enjoyed hot cocoa and exceptional organic and natural wines, and the meals were incredible. It was a perfect weekend escape. I cannot wait to return this summer.”

We realized that the standard rooms only have a toilet and sink but we were able to upgrade to a room that included a shower for 15€ (total cost with taxes 57.20€). The rooms are small but clean. 2 small bars of soap, towels, clean linens, hot shower, closet with a few hangers, comfortable bed. The heater took a while to warm up the room but we were comfortable. I wouldn’t stay here long term because the room is small but you can’t beat the price for 1 night and convenient location. Felt safe and staff was friendly.”
