“Decent hotel but you only pay for the location. They mention Queen bed but they only put two double beds together which is not what I paid for and is counter productive. The elevator was not working the weekend i stayed so had to climb 4 long levels up and down with my luggage and they said no maintenance will come over the weekend. Wifi was poor in the rooms. The service was decent and you get some free water and beer in the mini bar. However for 110 Euros a night it’s totally not worth it and I would never stay again.”

“A beautiful nice little island which you should have seen when you are visiting the Steinhuder Meer. It takes a short boattrip from Steinhude oder Mardorf to get to the island. The skipper will tell you some facts and stories about the island its self and all the small little things which happened here. For example was one of the officers, fighting against Napoleon, educated here. That abakut three hundred years ago but you can still visit the castle and walk on historical steps The rooms are small but cozy. Clean and, especially in hot summers, quit chilly. We loved it there. After 18:30 the island gets empty as all tourists who do not sleep in one of the 6 rooms, will have to catch the last ferry. After that the island is more or less yours! The sunset is breathtaking and the little dinner the, serve is delicious. So, if you want to calm down and have a brilliant stay on "your", island : defnitly go there! “We stayed on at this Hotel many times over the last 35 years, with many owners. Location is great just off the autobahn, Some rooms are fine, others leave a lot to be desired in terms of size(if they can get a dbl bed in then its a dbl) and cleanliness. We were given a room in the basement with the dbl bed squeezed against the wall so it can only be accessed from one side. Only part of the floor had seen a vacuum and curtains had cigarette burns in a no smoking room. The price of this dbl is the same as better and larger rooms in this Hotel.”
