“Don't be fooled by the paid ratings. Do not choose this hotel. We booked a room here as this hotel was close to my office. We booked the room through phone call the day before our stay. But as we arrived at the hotel the next morning at 6.30 pm, they asked us to go to their nearby branch which is almost a km away. after a long journey, they made us walk to their branch which is through slums. They didn't even direct us to the route. Was very angry. The contact persons won't pick up the call. Do not trust these guys. I would give a 0 rating if I could. Most worst management. Our whole day was made worse by these guys.”

“Excellent location, very well maintained rooms and cordial staffs, that’s it! Pathetic service, no restaurant, no food delivery into room, less staff, staff will also not deliver the food in room! You need to come down only. And if you’re on a business travel, please remember to keep an extra pair of sandals so that you don’t go hungry. My stay was for 4 days and they didn’t clean the room even once! Because their room cleaning service starts after 2! A very pampered lot of staff. Some rich guy got a plot in T Nagar, built something but have no idea how the service needed to be done. And the best part was, on the last day I received a call from the reception lady that 11 is the check out time.”

It was clean, stylish, large with wonderful service in where we had dinner. The food was excellent and well-valued, and the attentive and effective service was provided. The room itself was cosy and properly furnished. I had a great time during my visit. In the future, I plan to return for a longer stay.”

“The only good thing is it's located on the main road. Oh and the restaurant right below has some amazing nonveg food. Breakfast egg preparations are decent. Otherwise the hotel isnt great. The covers on the bed and pillows feel like they haven't been washed and are very old. They have a lot of the cotton clumping thing on it and my blanket cover even had ink stains on it. A lot of the light fixtures weren't working, wallpaper was peeling. The water coming out of the tap had a strong sulphur smell to it. Parking is absolutely terrible, especially if you have a big car. They don't have a proper "basement" parking and even if you want to park it in their so called basement parking, the path to go there is extremely narrow. They were unresponsive to the numerous times we did try to call the hotel before we reached. The only reason we put up with the place was due to the convenience wrt places we had to visit”

“This is a mid-range guesthouse which are a little more expensive in Chennai. Very happy with location in thousand Lights which is a good area to be, and the nice and accessible terrace. Room was good and clean with reliable wifi and a/c. The place is well maintained and breafasts are correct. Staff is professional. I recommend!”

“This place was recommended by a close friend of mine, as it is near the city centre ! The hotel is extremely safe for women who travel alone like me and backpackers ! I absolutely loved the rustic and charming side of this hotel ! The place is simple with some big plants... absolutely beautiful ! Budget friendly - it is a 2 star hotel so nothing luxurious, some rooms do need some renovation but the experience is totally worth it ! I had to stay longer in that hotel due to unforeseen circumstances but I have met amazing solo travellers from all around the world and the staff of the hotel are top-notch ! Marina beach is nearby, Express avenue for a quick shopping at the shopping mall and lots of nice restaurants around ! You also have bus stands and the metro station not too far away. There are also many movies that are being filmed in that hotel so you will encounter actors and crew members. It was nice and very interesting to see what was happening behind the curtains ! Lots of work going into those scenes ! (Some of the crew members believed I was an actress on set, 😅). Last but not least, I want to express my gratitude to Krishna, the owner of the hotel who has accommodated me so, so much, and to all the staff members, Mr Mahendran included, thank you all for your help, generosity and good laughs. And a big shout out to the cleaning ladies, who were also adorable and hilarious too ! :) Thank you BROAD LANDS for making my stay so special ! I dearly miss the place but I will definitely come back :))”

No intercom facility, though there is a receiver in every room but all are in not working condition. No phone nos, where you can request your needs, even a bottle of water. Everytime you should go down to the reception to collect a bottle of water and nobody will help you to get the same. Rest..... You can assume. Not recommended.”

“Stayed here for one day/night while visiting Chennai for an official purpose. The hotel could be rated as above average from my experience. Pros: 1. Convenient location. This hotel is located exactly where someone would want to. It’s just opposite to Koyambedu bus stand and one would easily catch bus to any part of the city/state from here. 2. Staffs are polite and gentle. 3. They provide complimentary snacks and breakfast to their guests. And food was good. 4. Ordered lunch from their kitchen and it tasted good. (N.B : prices are on a higher side) Cons: 1. The rooms are maintained poorly. It’s clean but the settings are very old and lightings aren’t great either. One could easily identify that it needs to be improved. 2. TV was not working. It wasn’t much of problem for me as i was engaged with work duties. However, that would not be the same for others. Overall La castle could be considered as an option for staying one or two days for a business tour or family trip. Rates are bit high when you analyse the quality of rooms and service provided. But i think it would do justice to the prime location of hotel.”

“We stayed at Rathna residency for 4 days. This is very close to the US consulate. The room was spacious and neat. The hospitality is highly appreciable. The hotel staff were kind and helpful, especially Mr. Dhanraj at the reception and Priscilla, who manages the restaurant. The complementary breakfast items were delicious. Since the food was really tasty, we also had lunch and dinner from Rathna on all four days of our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and a memorable stay. I will definitely recommend Rathna residency to all my friends and family who visit Chennai.”
