“We had an outstanding stay at this wonderful boutique hotel in Florence. Personal service, great location in a beautifully maintained property with all the charm and character of an older Italian building. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, including the beds and linens. The main floor lounge was a lovely option to hang out in. The self-serve coffee and complimentary refreshment area was a welcome delight, including the ability to fill your water bottle with either still or sparkling water. Enjoyed the evening happy hour with the other guests. Nice opportunity to meet others. Lovely breakfast room with a wonderful included breakfast. Highly recommend. This exceeded all of our expectations.”

“Great place as my husband and I had to switch to this hotel due to a mishap at another hotel. Rooms are clean and location can’t be beat! Staff are a bit unfriendly and when I sent my things for laundry service, one item was not returned. Understanding that mistakes happen, there was no attempt to let Me know of what happened, and even so the person at the front desk did not apologize on their behalf. Instead I was met with attitude. The solution was that they will ship it to me which is fine but I just did not like how this situation was handled at all. This left a very bad taste in my mouth. Otherwise- hotel was good!”

“This is lovely hotel right in the perfect location. The room was compact but had everything I needed. Comfortable double bed, clothes storage, good air con and mini fridge to keep drinks cold. The shower room was also compact but again it did the job, amazing hot powerful shower and nice toiletries. My room was spotlessly clean and cleaners came everyday, restocked fridge and provided clean towels and bedding if needed. I have knocked off 1 star simply because my room (102) was right next to the breakfast area and I was woken every morning with staff setting up and people having their breakfast. I am sure rooms away from that area would have been much quieter. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful and made my stay even more enjoyable. I really felt like I was staying in a traditional Italian hotel, which was delightful.”

“We had a wonderful stay in the Hotel. Perfect location for discovering Florence, with easy access by foot to all the attractions. The breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of choice. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I have not given the room 5 stars as we had a ground floor bedroom and unfortunately there was no chance to sleep late as the music from the breakfast room / foyer started at around 06:45 and this can be heard quite clearly in the room.”

“The hotel was clean, and staff was friendly and helpful. Some staff spoke English a bit better than others, but, hey, this is Italy- you sort of have to expect that. It’s about 30-40 minutes via walk + tram to the center of town, and it’s out of the way enough that you can escape other travelers if you want to. Heads up- there are mosquitoes in the area and the cleaning crew likes to leave the windows open to air them out. I traveled as a single female, and didn’t feel unsafe at any point in and around the hotel, for anyone wondering.overall, a great deal for the price”

“Hotel Marrani came our way on a booked car trip through Italy. A lucky choice for us. The hotel, the surroundings and the owners provided us with a pleasant stay. Although the hotel has 165 rooms available thanks to several outbuildings, it still represents a village atmosphere. The hotel also serves as a local shop and we were treated to goodies every evening by a local club of friends who met on the terrace every evening. By the way, Claudia, the owner and only daughter of the couple who started the hotel, also pampered us every afternoon when we came back from our trips. Please note: the hotel is within walking distance of the Ronta train station and you can arrive in the center of Firenze in almost one hour. We were there in September and still during the covid-19 epidemic. There were few guests and yet Claudia, her husband Giuseppe and their children paid attention to the guests. Our table was provided with fresh flowers. Our room was fine. It is worth mentioning that we felt very welcome. Claudia speaks very good English. Yes, there is also an extensive possibility for swimming, sunbathing and lazing next to the hotel. In short, we recommend this hotel!”

“Inconvenient Stay Due to Lack of Refrigerator and Cold Water My family and I recently stayed at this hotel, and I must say that our experience was far from satisfactory. One of the major issues we encountered was the absence of a refrigerator in our room. Prior to booking, I unfortunately did not notice this detail, and it turned out to be a significant problem for us. As a family with two young kids, including a baby, we had brought along baby food and milk that needed to be kept cold. Not having a refrigerator made it extremely challenging to properly store these essentials, and it put a damper on our stay right from the beginning. To make matters worse, the temperatures during our visit were soaring, and we found ourselves without access to cold, drinkable water. While we had purchased bottled water from both the local market and the hotel, the lack of refrigeration meant that our water quickly turned warm and undrinkable. This was a major inconvenience, especially considering the well-known heat in the region. It's disheartening to find such basic amenities missing from a hotel, particularly when traveling with a family. We were looking forward to a relaxing and enjoyable stay, but the lack of a refrigerator and the absence of cold water greatly impacted our comfort and convenience. While the hotel's location and other services were adequate, the absence of these essential amenities overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. I hope that the hotel management takes this feedback seriously and considers improving these aspects for the comfort of future guests. Until these issues are addressed, I would hesitate to recommend this hotel to families or travelers with specific needs for refrigeration and access to cold water.”

“We arrived to Hotel Hermitage to stay for 4 nights. When we arrived we were told that there was a leak in our bathtub so we couldn’t shower that day. They gave us a free glass of wine and we thought “oh well”. The next day after showering the water was leaking everywhere around the sink and base of shower. We mopped it up thinking it was just from us showering. We got home hours later and the flood almost reached our bedroom. It was everywhere. We told front desk and they said they couldn’t repair it until the next day, but if they did repair it, we would need to be out of the room for 8 hours. We did as they asked which is hard in 40 degree heat and not being able to shower. It was unpleasant. We got home to the following MESS (see attached pictures). We went to front desk where the lady was nice but she was working alone. So they had the cook go clean our room floor. It was absolutely disgusting. We asked for a manager and she informed me the manager would contact me the next day. We tried all day to get a new room or a Manager and nothing. Even the day after, no manager. Nothing was given to us. They “allowed” us to sit on the rooftop for a free glass of wine (I’d rather a bathroom) and we waited 20 minutes without being served. If you want horrible service but a beautiful rooftop patio, this is the place. It’s a stunning patio with grumpy servers who barely come to serve you. It was our second time there. The hotel had SO much potential but poor customer service in the event of a problem. This hotel was very expensive. I’m so disappointed. All in all nothing was ever resolved. No manager ever contacted us. No compensation. We couldn't wait to get to Bologna to get a shower.”

“If I could give this place a negative review I would. Staff were nice upon arrival. We checked in our room, found bed bugs and requested a new room. We then got a new room and our sheets had blood stains on the them. We barely slept and they refuse to refund us. The lady at the front desk was rude and incredibly disrespectful. Pay the extra money and go anywhere else. This hotel is dirty, disgusting, they don't clean and are disrespectful. Truly, don't waste your time or money with this hotel.”

“Tucked in the bustling center of the City, Hotel Lorena is a delightful hotel that is both pleasant and sufficient to any guest. I rented a single room with a shared bathroom across the narrow hallway. The room was clean and well organized. The view from the 2nd floor allowed me to see down on the town's comings and goings. Fun. I could also see the Duomo a short distance away. Although there was a lot of noise down on the street when the well insulated windows were closed none of that sound came through and the room was as quiet as can be. The family that runs the hotel (father, mother, son) were all helpful. Specially Lorenzo, the middle aged son, was one of the most pleasant and guys I interacted with while in Florence.”

“Cheap and good place to stay. But keep in mind that it's nothing luxurious, it goes along with the budget. It really shines for its location, being really close to everything. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Note for the shared refrigerator: it's at the reception, which has limited hours. You can ask for one but they are limited across the rooms.
