“The hotel is conveniently situated as the old town starts just across the street and there is a store next to it. It is close to the bus/train station and the university. Everything is within a walking distance. Breakfasts are great with food being refilled constantly. Rooms are not too big, so there is a sense of a typical French hotel, but recently renovated and pleasant. Bathroom was clean and functional. We had a small problem with hot water, but the reception gave us a nice discount for the inconvenience. Last but not least, the service is great and the staff is very helpful showing a lot of efforts to make your stay a great memory. And all this for a reasonable price. Fully recommended.”

Spa area was closed, wish it would be highlighted during booking, as availability of spa might be a criteria decision for hotel choice, so guest shall be aware prior booking. Trout overcooked on one side and raw on the other. Pork overcooked and dry. Desert a mushy mess. 30 minutes before we were able to ask for a drink. Staff pleasant but very amateur. Had planned to stay 2 nights but 1 was enough. From reading other reviews, management seems to be in denial. What a shame. Could be stunning.”

“Pictures are self explanatory about the carpeting that was in my room, tobacco smell everywhere. My room was also noisy from some ventilation and/or heating machinery. Constant noise throughout the night. If someone talks in the room nearby, like it’s happening as I am writing now, you can clearly understand all is being said. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this establishment.”

“We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are modern and clean. The service is really nice, especially Nicolas was basically our tour guide and gave us so many good advice for food and sightseeing! The area is also very nice, walking distance to several beaches and a lot of bars and restaurants around. It can get loud at night though with the street, so earplugs are helpful. We can recommend the hotel and would gladly stay here again!”

“We have visited this place in End of September with family. The location is quite good for beach and traveling around the region, the swimming zone is nice as well. But note that villas were not properly cleaned, the smell inside was bad, hairs in the bath and both taps were not fixed. The kitchen zone, where everybody was preparing breakfast was really unpleasant and dirty. You need to also take into consideration that the villa should be cleaned by yourself before checking out. If it’s not cleaned, you need to pay 129 euro. In our case we wiped the floor and removed all linen/covers as we only had a sleep in the apartment , arriving late at night. It was a surprise for us when in a month after the visit to villa saint Jean I received the automatic payment for 129 euro, which looked like a fraud transaction from villa saint jean as it was found out later. After long process of negotiations with the manger of saint jean and booking com that insisted that this cost was due to the fact that the appartment was not cleaned, I had to raise this issue with my bank that finally managed to return the money. villa saint jean did not have any confirmation that the property was not cleaned ( no photos before and after) and that was not the case, so my opinion is that this transaction was fraud. My recommendation is to Keep away from this place ( by the way you don’t expect that you need to clean an appartment paying 200 euro per night)”
