“Friends Zeche Zollverein is situated at, almost literally, a stone throw distance from the Zollverein grounds. The location is excellent, but the parking price is, at 10 euro a bit steep if you're just spending one night there. Three stars for the rooms; and that is a bit personal. The room we had was painted in an anthracite color. That color fits into the coal mine theme of the hotel, but lends a very gloomy feel to the location. Also there was no mini bar and, for some reason, there was a window in the shower indirectly facing the room's window. Depending on your inclination towards privacy, that was a bit odd. The breakfast was pricey, but we found out that was the case for all hotels in the surroundings. When we visited (14-08), however, there was no seating available for breakfast and we had to sit in one of the meeting rooms. No big problem, but for €19,50 p.p. one would expect to at least have a table to sit at. Overall, the experience was very good still, but for the hotel's pricepoint one could expect a bit more.”

“Nice hotel with a great nightly price : quality relationship, perfect for business stays. Wifi is excellent, rooms quiet and clean, and some have a nice view of the river. Breakfast was ok. The hotel bar closes relatively early, which ok it is what it is but there's an Italian restaurant across the street that makes do. The staff is efficient and friendly. Parking is free but the parking is on the second floor of the building and there is no elevator as far as I could see, so drop your luggage and then park.”

Negative Aspects would be the Internet connection, it was very poor and i had to log in the browser everytime i wanted to use the internet. and the air conditioner ( it didn't work). “Great location. Very friendly service at the reception. The breakfast options are very limited but I really have to say the coffee from the coffee machine tasted very bad but this did not affect my stay. They keep the room very clean and the house-keeping service was on point. I very much enjoyed the stay and will definitely visit again. The main plus is the parking. They have a dedicated outdoor parking. I was happy my car was safe in the night. Also the 24hrs check-in is a plus. Quiet neighborhood and very optimal for one-two night stay for business trips. Would not recommend for a family stay. It is a very budget friendly place. The hotel is located right outside the Krefeld city close to a lot of industries. Very convenient for business travelers.”
