“My stylist for 30+ years had sold his salon and retired and I was traumatized! How could I find somewhere that understood me and my spaghetti straight hair? Bingo! Less than 10 minutes from home, Platinum Salon. In addition they were voted best of Chester County in 2022. •It was pouring rain the day of my first appointment but Platinum Salon was big, bright, airy and sparkly inside. •The receptionist took my rain jacket and asked if I wanted anything to drink. •They had assigned me to Gabby. She asked me to have a seat at her station first, to get to know my hair and what my concerns were. She understood I needed more weight off the bottom and a more rounded shape. •My first thought was, wait...this is her station? It was just a salon chair and a big mirror in front. Where was the countertop crammed with hair product, pictures of kids, combs sitting in the blue solution, blow driers and a huge tip jar? Answer, they all had their own petite rolling station. And the blow driers were hanging from the ceiling!! Really! The whole salon was pristine! •In addition, when she washed my hair in the back station, the height of the sink adjusted instead of the chair. Oh yes...they have chandeliers hanging from the ceiling too. •Gabby is delightful! We soon found out I had lived in the same condo community where she is. We talked so much I was afraid she was going to make a mistake. But she didn't. •After my appointment I went shopping in the wind and pouring rain. But when I came home, my hair dried and I fluffed my fingers through it. Voila! A beautiful cut! •Sometimes change is for the better. Platinum Salon is a bit more expensive than others, but I'm worth it!!! 😊”

“Our experience was BAD. I don’t understand why the person doing my son’s haircut was in such a rush, maybe because the manager told her she can leave after my son’s cut! She got done in 15 minutes. Smh. I specifically asked for a fade and I even showed her a picture of what I wanted to make it easier. She still insisted to just run a #5 clip around his head and do nothing else. I also told her I DID NOT want it lined up and she still lined it up. THE LINES ARE CROOKED (which I knew would happen and why I asked her to NOT line it up!). This was supposed to be a haircut for my son’s birthday and it’s embarrassing what she did to him. I’ll never be back. I rather pay $70 to a REAL BARBER.”

“I give it a one star because it was my first time going there a few days ago. I had snakebites before but they grew up for the second time so i wanted them redone and a nose piercing. I got in there and she did clean my nose BUT.. there was no warning at all before she stabbed me which really threw me off cuz i didn’t think she was even ready yet and she did it so fast i didn’t even have time to respond. Before I knew it, she had already pierced my nose and both sides of my lip before I even had a chance to breathe which can make someone pass out.. it was like she was in a race for no reason whatsoever. I found that to be a bit rude cuz even the toughest of people need a second to breathe in between piercings. Furthermore, she obviously pierced my lips with the wrong piercings as well because they are trying to close in on the inside of my lip. Wouldn’t surprise me cuz when I asked what piercings they had that I could purchase from the front, they literally showed me one handheld box to choose from, using the same small piercings for different locations which is odd to me. Everyone in the lobby was nice but next time i think ill spend the extra money to go somewhere else. Piercer courtesy means the most to the ones sitting in the chair getting stabbed.👌🏼”

She was the sweetest most understanding stylist I've experienced. Michelia explained everything step by step and went into such detail before, during, and after. I've never felt so relaxed and comfortable. She made my hair look and feel so wonderful. It was better than my expectations. I recently moved farther east but still continue to make appointments with Lori. She is excellent with hair cuts, coloring, highlighting and styling. Whenever I want to try a new look she does such a great job in bringing my hopes to life. “Staff is very friendly. But unfortunately i booked a pedicure in the morning and not the evening. Only in the evening you get Nail technicians. Any other time of the day you get cosmetologists which are not allowed to use clippers on the nails or file your heals. The only thing they are allowed to do is file your nails and apply polish. I know its only 20$. But with what you receive , you are better off doing your polish at home . Not the cosmologists fault, but bad management.”

“I was very happy to find a barber that is only a few minutes from where I live! Ordinarily I would go to Reading and didn't feel like going that far. I read the reviews and was Not Disappointed! Alex was my barber..the only barber in at the time I stopped by! He was pleasant, respectful and courteous! His talent was extremely evident as well! He made sure to let me know what he was doing and ask my approval. I had just gotten off work and was tired. He helped ease my morning routine by also offering a shampoo, in addition to, my cut! I greatly appreciated that! There were no awkward moments as he is an obvious people person! I left him an above average tip because he deserved it! I look forward to my next cut with Alex and I Highly Recommend him!”

“My favorite part of the visit was where they didn’t know that I also spoke their native language and could understand EVERYTHING they were saying. My braider called me unattractive, fat and made fun of my acne. Another woman who was sitting across from me with her daughters, they were making disparaging comments about her kids. My braids themselves were terrible, but I see why. It’s because they are too busy talking about people instead of focusing on quality of service. I also called the department of health, maybe we should be checking for licensure here!”

“So the owner contacted me because I wrote a bad review on my experience, now I’m getting ignored , I got a color correction on my hair paid over 400 got compensated for my 135 shirt that was ruined, but it looks like I’m going to have to pay for another color correction this is my hair after one wash and you can clearly see all the yellow and orange. I asked her if she can personally fix my hair or get a refund and she ignored me.”

“This was my second visit to this salon. Overall, this salon is so wholesome and inviting. Its honestly beautiful to be around black women who are bubbly and kind and energetic. I'm an awkward woman, and even I felt comfortable to chat it up with my super friendly stylist, Ashley. My only bugaboo was the appt time. My appt was at 11AM, I arrived early. I left the salon after 3PM. I got a silk press here before, and it took a little over an hour. So that wasn't ideal, to say the least. Everything else was GREAT. This is a great salon, and I will be coming back for a blow out in 3 months.”

“Exceptional professionalism and thorough consideration for patrons. They did an intake which included allergy documentation. I didn’t see a hydration station so bring your own water. This is a judge free, calm environment, no loud music. A movie or show is kept on for guest entertainment. The salon is very clean and welcoming. They do service children, my youngest daughter got her first trim, she is two and will be three in two months. My oldest enjoyed herself as well. I was welcomed to return the same day to get my hair completed and it wasn’t in my plans but I knew it was the right choice and they squeezed me in. All three of us got a wash, deep condition, and a trim for a great price. Thank you Courtney, Tiffany, and Rav’va! ♥️ 💓 Oh and did I mention they sanitize each chair and appliance after each use ☺️”

Amanda was actually the one to do my sons very first cut when he was just a baby & even during all his screaming yelling & fussing she did amazing & truly went above and beyond so we been going here since . I won’t take my son anywhere else . Now that he is older he absolutely loves going for his haircuts , mainly to see his girls lol. My nephews are also big fans of the crew here!
