Helvellyn
4.9
( 16 reviews )

Keswick CA11 0PU, United Kingdom

“We were blessed with good weather when we climbed. It was an incredible route with lots of places to stop and take in the sights. Quite busy but not as busy as others. We did the 'ridge' section which was a bit daunting but if you take it slow it's absolutely doable. I would definitely recommend and would do it again.”

National Trust - Cissbury Ring
4.8
( 8 reviews ) $$

Findon, Valley, Worthing BN14 0HT, United Kingdom

“Nice old hill fort. Great place for a picnic in summer or a windy walk in winter. It’s a relatively easy climb up to the top with stepped paths for the steep bits. At the top there’s a great panoramic view. There are horses grazing here so keep dogs on leads. At the top there are some benches and circular paths around the perimeter. There are a couple of very small car parks nearby which fill up quickly so you’ll likely find you need to park far away and walk here.”

Barton Hills Nature Reserve
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Church Rd, Barton-le-Clay, Bedford MK45 4LA, United Kingdom

“Lovely secret little area! Natural spring, hills to climb and clay mud for the kids to mess about with! Beautiful views! Park in Old Rd, Barton by the park and walk across the park and down by the church.”

Burrs Country Park
4.7
( 10 reviews )
Open until 04:00 PM

Woodhill Rd, Bury BL8 1DA, United Kingdom

“Park is local to me and apart from the summer Bank hols when it's too busy then it's great. Especially when it's wet and we can walk the dog in peace However what I didn't appreciate today is the group of canoe enthusiasts unloading their equipment, blocking the ramps with their trolleys etc. Was forced to wade through water around them and my dog couldn't get through past them so jumped into the frozen lake to get around them. If she had gone through the ice I don't want to think about it. Just a reminder that this park is for ALL to use not just water sports and runners. Recommend the lampost cafe.”

A great variety of trees (native and imported) plenty to do for kids such as low ropes course, swings, ziplines, slides, climbing ...(or for grown up if you're lucky to go when kids are at school) Loved looking at the deers. There are a few trailers on the car park (coffee, ice cream and chippie) Bathrooms available. Several playgrounds by the car park. Camping facilities. Walking and bike trails. Even have a bike repair station!”

Torr Head
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Ballycastle BT54 6RQ, United Kingdom

“First time visit, don't like driving up the mountain route to Torr Head though, roads too narrow, dreading to see when there's oncoming car, not enough room for 2 cars. Lovely views when we reach the top of the decommissioned war tower (?) There's a ruin nearby. Shame there's not much information for the area.”

“Really nice hidden gem. Various routes available depending on your ability. We completed the brown route in approximately 2hrs. All walks helpfully waymarked all the way around. Lovely views as you walk. Car park big enough, with overflow available if necessary. This is an unmanned National Trust site, so no cafe or attendants in any capacity. It is very well looked after though. Parking charges for non members at a pay and display machine, or you can use Pay by Phone App. Well worth a visit.”
