Grimes Glen Park

Closed until 06:00 AM

4703 Vine St, Naples, NY 14512, United States

“Beautiful park, the hike can be a bit daunting. The trails are a bit difficult to navigate along the water. They are narrow and rocky, so proper footwear is a must. Tall boots are helpful to walk through the water, again being careful because the rocks get slippery.”

( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

Tinker Falls Trail, Tully, NY 13159, United States

Higley Flow State Park
4.7
( 8 reviews )

442 Cold Brook Dr, Colton, NY 13625, United States

“I've camped at Higley Flow many times over the years and I always have a great time. This most recent visit we stayed at site 98 which was close to the bathrooms (nicest I've ever used at a state park) and had a trail to the water. An ice cream truck makes its rounds in the late afternoon. The park has miles of trails to walk with some very pretty views. Firewood is readily available from the locals.”

Keewaydin State Park
4.5
( 8 reviews )

45165 NY-12, Alexandria Bay, NY 13607, United States

“What a fantastic State park! great camping, facilities are kept well. The large swimming pool and slide are a fan favorite in the summer and there are always things to do in the park and surrounding areas. On the banks of the St. Lawrence river makes for some nice evening walks.”

Dater Mountain Nature Park
4.5
( 16 reviews )
Closed until 08:00 AM

54 Seven Lakes Dr, Sloatsburg, NY 10974, United States

“As usual we did a mixture of trails, loved this hike, for us it started with a normal walk and then as the hike progressed view and challenging aspects kept on increasing. We reached the lake first and and then took the elevation trail which took us to the peak, way down on white and blue trail gets little challenging as you will have to use your hands in some spots to get down the rocks. Park management has done a great job with the markings. You will feel like you are lost at some spots but will find the trail markings.”

Mount Loretto Unique Area

( 10 reviews )

20 Kenny Rd, Staten Island, NY 10309, United States

“Lovely area with plenty of trails to explore, birdwatch or enjoy with your dog! There are accessible paved trails, but also non-paced ones that are harder to manage. One trail leads to the Princess Bay Lighthouse. Lots of birds, …”

Oquaga Creek State Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 06:00 AM

5995 Co Rd 20, Bainbridge, NY 13733, United States

“I took my Grandson hiking. The trail was easy to find. We didn't see any wildlife but we did find lots of places for the 5 year old to run and jump. There is a small stream with a bridge and he stopped and listened. He thought the sound was cool. The camping area was closed, but the beach was open. Picnic tables are in abundance.”

Cayuga Nature Center
4.5
( 8 reviews )

1420 Taughannock Blvd, Ithaca, NY 14850, United States

“What a cool place! The nature centre itself was closed, but enter through the gate on the side. Nature reserve with an incredible six- story tree house (which would have been perfectly terrifying at Halloween). To get to the tree house, walk by and past the animals behind the centre, and keep following the trail for a couple of minutes. It's very well hidden in the trees. Incredible how they made it - well done to the construction team!! So fun with options to climb up ladders or take stairs at each level. The animals seemed well cared for, there was an owl, two red foxes, Turkey vulture, etc. Great place for a picnic or walk through the forest. Loads of cute chipmunks scurrying around! (Apologies for any motion sickness watching the hand held video - it shows from the top climbing down to the entrance of the tree house)”

Bald Mountain
4.8
( 10 reviews )

Webb, NY 13420, United States

“Beautiful hike. A little busy but I expected it. For some hikers, they may not like the crowd and prefer more solitude hikes.”

St. Regis Canoe Outfitters
4.9
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 09:00 AM

73 Dorsey St, Saranac Lake, NY 12983, United States

“Awesome store - so much kayak and canoe gear - hiking/backpacking stuff too if you forgot something. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We used their shuttle service to get us to Old Forge to do the Northern Forest Canoe Trail back to Saranac Lake - highly recommended way to go rather than trying to do two vehicles”

Lake Tiorati Beach - Harriman State Park
4.5
( 10 reviews )

2300 Seven Lakes Dr, Southfields, NY 10975, United States

“The beach is closed on 9/5/2023, still summer-time and 89° outside. Labor Day was yesterday, yes, who cares, the beach should still be open since it is still summer. It is just ridiculous, insane, against all logic that people would rather spend money on ineffective ways to lose stress in New York when there are the lakes!! News for you: in other countries (since I am American from abroad), they leave lakes open ALL YEAR LONG, because they are natural places for people to go to anytime they want!! You may say "but there are snakes and other vermins around", there are during the summer too!! what's the difference??? I have not seen even 1 state/county employee cleaning a lake area of snakes or other pests in the summer.”

Blauvelt State Park
4.5
( 10 reviews )

Route 303 North to East, Greenbush Rd, Blauvelt, NY 10913, United States

“What a cool find! Former WWI underground training facility with miles of tunnels and walls covered with graffiti. Going right after the rain, the trails were flooded in many spots which added to the experience. I enjoyed the experience, the history, the photography, and the nature. Recommended for WWI history buffs, off the path adventurer seekers, curious explorers, and those with good waterproof boots (if you go after the rain).”

Skyline Lodge
4.6
( 8 reviews )

1254 Highland Park Rd, Fabius, NY 13063, United States

“Beautiful venue for making wonderful memories. Amazing staff, great food. Great place to host banquets, weddings, meetings etc”

Hector Falls
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Hector, NY 14818, United States

“What a pleasant surprise addition to our day. I didn't even know this waterfall existed. This unique waterfall is located on both sides of a busy road. It was a beautiful large waterfall that continued down the other side of the road. There is no parking available and there are signs informing driver there is no parking on the bridge. There is an abandoned business just after the bridge that we parked at then walked to see the waterfall closer. This was pretty dangerous as cars are just zooming by. But if you can stay safe its worth stop. I even met a nice couple and helped take their picture. I love waterfalls so I'm so glad that we stumbled upon this.”
