“A tale of Vikings and Native Americans, A story of wild and violent actions. An axe was the tool that completed the task, Of their arrival in this very land. Today Stumpy House brings us a story, Where luck of the Vikings and Native Americans comes alive. Endless supply of beers to be found, And a tale of the past that is sound. Our story is filled with adventure and mystery, Where everyone can try their luck and feel free. Of Vikings and Native Americans we shall remember, And with a pint in hand, we all will remember. Once upon a time, a wild story was told, Of Vikings who arrived in America bold. The Native Americans made their axes of stone, A story of action, wild and unknown. The axe was the tool that would complete the task, The Vikings and Natives had luck to ask. Today, Stumpy House brings a tale anew, A story of beer that never runs out too. Where Vikings and Natives live in harmony, Each trying to find their own destiny. A never-ending supply of beer and cheer, The luck of the Viking or Native will never fear.”

“As this is the first certified dark skies park in Florida, I was anxious to see how the night sky looked during the new moon. I was not disappointed. The stars were bright and beautiful. Daytime was peaceful, with plenty of birds and wildlife to keep me entertained. The wild turkeys were especially neighborly. Lots of trails if that is your thing, or just relax and enjoy the stunning prairie.”

Coming here for a walk and finish the day catching the sunset is just outstanding. I bet new visitors will feel the same too ✨🤍”

Hardee Lakes County Park

8950 5502 Ollie Roberts Rd, Bowling Green, FL 33834, United States

“This is one of my favorite campgrounds. I would recommend this place to everyone but I don't put it out on social media. Being a Florida resident and not being able to get into a Florida State Park irritates me beyond belief. I personally believe that the State Parks should have a certain amount of campsites available to the residents of this State. We found this hidden gem and absolutely love it. I was reading some of the comments on here and they made me giggle. * There's no fish out here. What?! There are 4 beautiful large lakes out here that are full of fish. * There's no wildlife out here. Are you kidding me? There's deer everywhere. Gopher turtles, snakes, raccoons, coyotes, possums, all kinds of birds. * There's no campsites available. Certain months are very popular. Plan ahead. I do know this, some people reserve sites and never show up. That's so unfair to campers that do want a site. How to curb that? No refunds. * One thing that really bothers me is the trash thrown around throughout the park. My husband and I are constantly picking up trash. Let's keep this park beautiful. Follow the rules. Don't ride your buggy through the creeks! Be respectful. We all want to enjoy this park. ⛺🎣🦌🦝🐢🐍🐺🦉🐦‍⬛🐊”

Troy Springs State Park
4.7
( 8 reviews )

674 NE Troy Springs Rd, Branford, FL 32008, United States

“I got my level 1 freedive certification here and it’s a great springs to dive in!! Clean freshwater and good visibility, given that the scuba divers don’t stir it up too much at the bottom! It was foggy in the morning but then cleared up and was beautifully sunny later in the day. The facility had great clean bathrooms and a gear rinsing station but I just wish they had hot showers. The water can get pretty cold if you’re not moving around that much, but otherwise it felt great!”

Eagle Nest Park
4.5
( 10 reviews )
Open until 11:00 PM

5165 Metrowest Blvd, Orlando, FL 32811, United States

“All four photos found at Eagle’s nest park about a year ago. There are nice paved trails in a scenic nature backdrop that’s a nice break from the city. People ride bicycles, rollerblade, walk, and run. The fields are used for outdoor rec team sports. One side of the property backs up to a neighborhood so there can be shady activity. I saw a car driving on the walking trail taking a shortcut.”

Goethe State Forest
4.6
( 8 reviews )

9110 SE Co Rd 337, Dunnellon, FL 34431, United States

“Beautiful and peaceful, and so are the dead when they get lost on a poorly marked trail that matches no map. The trees, when they do have markers, aren’t marked on both sides. No markings for forks, either. And green for a trail color? This is a STATE FOREST. It’s like Florida is stupid on purpose. Can’t have those elites who wrote the Boy Scout Handbook a hundred years ago telling us what to do and taking our freedumbs away….”

Faver-dykes State Park
4.4
( 16 reviews )

1000 Faver Dykes Rd, St. Augustine, FL 32086, United States

“This Florida State Park is a gem in the rough. Its 3 miles back from route 1 right off of route 95. Small park with only 30 sites. Every spot is secluded from each other. The maintenance guy will even rake every spot out for the next campers. Wow it's like being in the jungle but with electricity and water at every spot. There is a dump station. Bathrooms are clean with showers. Perfect location to visit St Augustine. Loved this place!”

( 8 reviews )

150 Hypoluxo Rd, Lantana, FL 33462, United States

“What an incredible hidden spot to visit for a nature fix! Luckily my best friend is from the area so he took me here for a morning hike. You would never guess this place existed where it is located but if you are looking at this review I would highly recommend going. Here is why: 1. There is a massive observation area where you can spot wildlife and get a Birds Eye view of the Scrub. 2. The trails are beautiful and the area is well maintained. It gives you a feel for what the landscape looked like before people. 3. Accessible! It’s free! Just make sure you close the gate when you enter. I uploaded a trail map in my photos. Recommend spending an hour here and enjoying the sights!”
