Kapalua Coastal Trail
4.8
( 8 reviews )

99 Coconut Grove Ln, Lahaina, HI 96761, United States

“Doing this 1.7 trail (+ Dragon's Teeth Trail that it passes by) was one of my Maui highlights.”

Kaihalulu Red Sand Beach
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Hana, HI 96713, United States

“The trail to get here was horrendous… and dangerous… be sure to wear proper shoes for hiking that can grip steep and slick pathways…. HIGHLY recommend water shoes or something for the beach itself since it’s nothing but stones and pebbles, very painful to walk on, but man the view was worth it, and the water was warmer and fun to swim in for a bit. My 5 year old made the trek with us but he’s a good climber, had i known about the hike being so dangerous i wouldn’t have wanted him to come. The views are worth it, and the cool water is worth it. It would be a huge hassle to bring coolers or anything other than a towel to this beach, so I’d recommend only a short visit and not an all day stay.”

Haleakala
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Hawaii 96790, United States

“Super cool! It's worth the drive and $30 park fee. Breathtaking views. Bring warm clothes + hiking shoes if you are going to hike! We messed up and didn't have anything warm, I'm still upset at myself for this, lol!”

Makaluapuna Point
4.7
( 16 reviews )

4946 Lower Honoapiilani Rd, Lahaina, HI 96761, United States

“A viewing point on the West Maui where you get a wide angle view of the Pacific and it's blues. A light trail easy for beginners without any hassle of reservation and hustle. I'm in love with the view and ride. It's better if you reach there early in the morning or late in the afternoon. It's a completely open space with strong wind. if you love snorkeling IT is the SPOT that you're looking for. Turtles, fish, lobster and what not to see. Water is soo clean and blue you'll instantly fall in love. Crashing waves onto the cliffs is rather calming. You can sit on the beach nearby which is also not crowded at all. Overall it is a place which you can cover in 1-2 hrs. A top recommendation for sightseeing in Maui.”

Crouching Lion Trail
4.8
( 8 reviews )

51-676 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaaawa, HI 96730, United States

“Just completed this hike in approximately 1 hour round trip. Pictures don’t do it justice how pretty the peak is once you get there. A couple of different route options up and down. Quickest route has some ropes and rock scaling but is doable for intermediate hikers/climbers. Wear good shoes, it rained a bit while we were at the top and anymore would have been scary coming down. Great hike if you have a short window of time.”

Makapu`u Point Lighthouse Trailhead

( 10 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

Makapu‘u Lighthouse Rd, Honolulu, HI 96825, United States

“The meandering paved trail caters to families with strollers or those seeking an even surface. Despite not being overly obese, I found myself taking numerous breaks due to the constant incline. The trail offers "pull-offs" for resting, but …”

Halona Beach Cove
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Hawaii 96825, United States

“One of my favorite places to bring people to when they come to visit me. Gorgeous views and a kind of serene space because you have to go down some stairs to get there. Bring a towel and go for a lovely warm swim”

Hoapili Trail
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Unnamed Road, Kula, HI 96790, United States

“Nice walk over lava trails and coral beaches. Easy for families. Beautiful natural Maui. Encountered goats along the path and turned back. Mom and dad on either side of the trail with babies in the path. Don't know how the trail ends, but what we saw was nice. You need closed toed shoes or a first aid kit. The lava and coral are sharp. Just do it, saw a handful of "hearty souls" limping out bleeding. Oh, and there are some fantastic thorns, one of which went through my son's sneaker. Having some fun in the photo, but without the thick sole, he would have been hurting.”

Honomanu
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Hana, Hana Hwy, Hana, HI 96713, United States

“Black sand beach, waves, beautiful snd quiet beach on way to Hana. Access is quite hard but with SUV no problem. No many tourists”

Waihou Spring Trail
4.6
( 8 reviews )

2463 Olinda Rd, Makawao, HI 96768, United States

“Nice peaceful hiking area away from touristy places. Lots of variety of fauna. Has a lot of grade variation through the loop, most of it gradual. Paths are well marked except for the lower spring area. We weren't sure if we were supposed to go further and we couldn't see the springs. Has free parking on the road. Overall a great spot to hike.”

Kuilau Ridge Trailhead
4.6
( 8 reviews )

State Hwy 580, Kapaʻa, HI 96746, United States

“This is the most beautiful trail on Kauai, and my favorite place on Earth. The jungle is magical in a way photos cannot show.”

Shipman Beach / Haena Beach
4.5
( 10 reviews )

Keaau, HI 96749, United States

“The walk is pretty long (1h20 per way approx) as the path is not easy being full of mud. Mud is definitely a characteristic of the whole trail, way more than mosquitoes, so make sure to wear appropriate shoes. …”

Iao Needle State Monument
4.3
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

Wailuku, HI 96793, United States

“It’s beautiful over there, different climate being surrounded by the mountains. The monument is very easy to get to and the parking is relatively cheap. I think it was $10 per car and $5 per person. There’s plenty of stairs to get to the view of the monument. Also pay attention to the sides as your walking up you may come across a chameleon! We saw one just hanging around right by the stairs so these kids decided to pick it up. Beautiful place, very different then the rest of the island.”
