Suwanee Creek Park
4.7
( 10 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

1170 Buford Hwy, Suwanee, GA 30024, United States

“Marvelous! Wonderful linear park through forest and wetlands. Beware of low spots in the trail, they can get quite wet and muddy. Generally, tho, the trails are well built and maintained. Beautiful nature to be seen.”

"edge Of The World" Trail
4.7
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:30 AM

7000 Hwy 53, Dawsonville, GA 30534, United States

“This trail is for the beauty, the rushing water, the super rugged terrain and the opportunity to connect with and experience nature. Not the place to go for exercise! It’s too treacherous! Go here and sit on large rocks on the middle of the river. Go here to get lost in nature! Breathtaking beauty is here!”

Little Tallapoosa Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )

1930 GA-113, Carrollton, GA 30116, United States

“Camped over memorial weekend at the tent site #13. Absolutely wonderful, mostly shaded and quiet. Close to the bathhouse if needed. Family members stayed in the equine area and the RV area and both were wonderful. Trails are nice, splash pad was a hit and the playground.”

Len Foote Hike Inn
4.8
( 8 reviews )

280 Amicalola Falls State Park Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534, United States

“After hiking approx 5 miles in a thunderstorm, the inn was a welcome place. We were able to sit in a nice community room with heaters and dry our clothes. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast and dinner were excellent. Our room was tiny but sufficient.”

Tumbling Waters Trail
4.7
( 8 reviews )

34.651,-84.608, Ellijay, GA 30540, United States

“Really beautiful hike! Not difficult, but a solid 2 miles or so along the river. There’s a great observation deck to see the waterfalls in two different places as well as space to hike down closer to the water. Even the parking lot has an amazing view at the bottom where the boat dock is. There’s a $5 fee to hike on the honor system.”

Lullwater Preserve
4.7
( 8 reviews )

1463 Clifton Rd, Decatur, GA 30033, United States

“It was truly a pleasant surprise for me and my wife during our present stay in Atlanta, when our daughter and son-in-law took us around this stunningly beautiful area ... a heaven for nature's lovers. We couldn't believe we were in the middle of the city within the Emory University area. I would call it a 'hidden gem' in Atlanta. It was tranquil, peaceful, and strolling around a serene lake on semi paved pathways was a wonderful experience. My three years old grand daughter too thoroughly enjoyed her walk... and was excited to see plenty of geese and a couple of deers. Would highly recommend a walk over the suspension bridge near the waterfall. Would love to spend some time here every time we visit Atlanta.”

Lula Lake Land Trust
4.7
( 8 reviews )

5000 Lula Lake Rd, Lookout Mountain, GA 30750, United States

“A hidden gem and great alt to busier state parks. The timed entry system reduces foot traffic making hiking more enjoyable. We took the middle trail to the falls to get off the gravel road and I would consider it easy. There were several other trails available to add-on if desired. The staff working the parking lot were able to give good recommendations. There are two areas with falls. The second, tall waterfall does require a steep descent/climb I would consider moderate to difficult, could be hard on the knees.”

Cochran Shoals Trail
4.7
( 8 reviews )

1956-2068 Eugene Gunby Rd, Marietta, GA 30067, United States

“Nice trail close to the city! We came on a Saturday morning around 10:30am and the parking lot was very full ($5 parking) and the trail was busy. It's mostly gravel with forks that branch off if you want to explore a bit more. Main path follows the river with a few overlooks. Good walk with a lot of shade, I will probably try to come earlier in the future!”

Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge
4.7
( 8 reviews )

718 Round Oak Juliette Rd, Hillsboro, GA 31038, United States

“Visitor center displays were ok. The ranger we talked to was not very helpful in answering questions. He could definitely use more training on being courteous to visitors. Wildlife drive completely unremarkable.”

Swinging Bridge On The Toccoa River
4.8
( 16 reviews )

Swinging Bridge on the Toccoa River, Suches, GA 30572, United States

“We had a good time there the trail needs some work no even and lots of roots and bushes in your way.”

Mavell Road Trailhead - Silver Comet Trail
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

Mavell Rd, Smyrna, GA 30082, United States

“What a great experience riding our E-Bikes on the Silver Comet through the tunnel on Brushy Mountain it was like floating on air. And the echoes are sensational.”

Helton Creek Falls
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Helton Creek Rd, Blairsville, GA 30512, United States

“Nice short trail. It goes up and down and it’s clearly marked. It took less than 30 minutes from the parking spot to the overlook. The falls look amazing. I think you need a car with high clearance like SUV or a truck only because you might have to cross a small swamp or gravel driveway to get to the parking lot. And I recommend going forward to leave the trail instead of driving back where you came from, both end will lead to the paved road.”

Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center
4.7
( 10 reviews )
Closed until 08:30 AM

4075 Spot Rd, Cumming, GA 30040, United States

“This place can be very confusing with 3 entry points. I also feel the maps could be better, and the trail markings could be more visible. It's not terribly difficult if you have some fitness to you. I'm a daily hiker, so this wasn't bad at all for me. We did the 3.6 mile loop in just about 1 hour and 15 minutes.”

Rabun Bald From Beegum Gap Trailhead
4.9
( 10 reviews )

Kelsey Mountain Rd, Dillard, GA 30537, United States

“This was a beautiful hike, moderate difficulty in my opinion. The views at the top of the tower are amazing, 360 degrees around! Be sure to go on a clear day. The trail was busy but not too crowded at the time we went (weekday and mid day). …”

Lake Winfield Scott Recreation Area
4.7
( 8 reviews )

439 Lake Winfield Scott Rd, Suches, GA 30572, United States

“There was one other camper there. No staff, restrooms closed and water off in the 1st come area of 18 sites but the sites are wonderful. It probably is much more populated during summer with day users. It was a great overnight since we are completely self sufficient. There is a couple trails, one 1.8 miles around the lake and the other goes off into the wilderness.”

Currahee Mountain
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Georgia 30577, United States

“I love to visit this mountain! The drive up is a little shaky because of the gravel road, but once it's scraped again, it is very easy! I saw a host of eagles too AND found a feather!”

Sawnee Mountain Park
4.4
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

3995 Watson Rd, Cumming, GA 30028, United States

“I've hiked at Shawnee Mountain several times now. It's conveniently located not too far from my home and offers three different trails ranging from easy to moderate difficulty. If you complete all three, it adds up to about 10 miles in total. Today, we opted for a loop hike that was approximately 5 miles long, and it took us just over 2 hours to complete.”

Lake Blue Ridge Recreation Area
4.6
( 10 reviews )

Dry Branch Rd, Blue Ridge, GA 30513, United States

“Great spot to launch kayaks and explore shoreline. We had trouble because it was a very windy day so we chose to stay close to side close to put-in and sheltered from wind. Pretty fall colors were showing and the water levels were lowered than normal due to season.”

Desoto Falls
4.6
( 16 reviews )

Georgia 30528, United States

“Very beautiful aria for hiking and very well maintained park with many campers. Unfortunately waterfalls were smaller than we expected… Water streams were so small. Almost none. Maybe if you come after rain you would have better chance to enjoy waterfalls.”

Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

5000 Wildlife Dr NW, Townsend, GA 31331, United States

“Great example of Georgia's natural ecosystem. The property has running trails, driving trails, and a bunch of ponds. The wood storks are an amazing site, as are the alligators, armadillos, and great blue herons. We visit as often as possible.”
