Annapolis Rock & Black Rock Cliff Trailhead
4.8
( 16 reviews )

11175 Baltimore National Pike, Myersville, MD 21773, United States

“Great hike! Amazing views! Not crowded either, at least when I went. Pretty easy hike, with hills but they level out pretty often so you can catch your breath. The round trip maybe took 2 hours at my pace, which is pretty quick I think. Kids over 7 or 8 could make it on their own I’m sure. I wouldn’t recommend trying a stroller (which I did see on struggling on the trail)… At any rate, happy trails all!”

Weverton Cliffs

( 16 reviews )

Appalachian National Scenic Trail, Knoxville, MD 21758, United States

“Great short hike with access to the AT... parking lot fills up, but there is plenty of street parking, unlike some other locations around. A bit steep and stone stepped, but nothing our puppy and 11-year-old dog couldn't handle.”

Fairland Recreational Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

3928 Greencastle Rd, Burtonsville, MD 20866, United States

“Serene and clean recreational park for family or solo events. A lot of parking space available if you drive. A good place to take a walk, a ride with a bike or just relax with family. Flew my drone in the area and I had no problems, so you can too. Don’t restrict yourself to just one section, there are at least three huge parks including a baseball pitch and a football area.”

Fort Howard Park
4.5
( 16 reviews )

9500 North Point Rd, Fort Howard, MD 21052, United States

“Very beautiful park that also has a few historical views on it. Lots of room for multiple families to enjoy picnicking and enjoying whatever else they may have some interest in. From volleyball, fishing, walking, exploring, playing Frisbee, or just chilling. Big park with plenty of room for everyone.”

Washington Monument State Park
4.7
( 16 reviews )
Closed until 10:00 AM

6620 Zittlestown Rd, Middletown, MD 21769, United States

“Amazing place to visit. You can park in the parking lot to the Washington Monument State Park and it’s a much shorter trail. We walked from Annapolis Rock and Black Rock trail head parking lot, a 3.6 mile hike. Its pretty easy. A wonderful walk in the woods. Very hard to imagine building that by hand in the late 1820s.”

Treehouse Camp At Maple Tree
4.7
( 8 reviews )
Open until 12:00 PM

20716 Townsend Rd, Rohrersville, MD 21779, United States

“First time at Maple Tree Campground for a little break from city life and to unwind with my wife and daughter. The cabins are very primitive but super cozy especially when using the wood stove. The family that runs the campground are very friendly and welcoming. They truly go above and beyond to accommodate their guests! Very quiet and relaxing once the sun goes down. We will definitely be returning, and maybe try camping in the winter for an entirely different experience.”

Greenwell State Park
4.5
( 16 reviews )
Closed until 08:00 AM

25420 Rosedale Manor Ln, Hollywood, MD 20636, United States

“Nice park - there's a few small trails, and you can walk along the coast path and on the rocks and sand. There are some animals / farms around as well, and some picnic areas. Overall, it's a neat park to visit, and economical. It was $3 for locals and $5 for non locals (but I'm pretty sure this was just a trust system where you put in cash if you want to). Definitely recommend checking this park out for a nice low key visit.”

Harford Glen Park
4.5
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

502 W Wheel Rd, Bel Air, MD 21015, United States

“Harford Glen has a lot of great trails! There's also a hawk and owl that live near the main entrance. The main drawback is that it is only open in the summer.”

“What a lovely first experience picking strawberries. There were plenty of wonderful ripe red berries, just standing in the fields smelled terrific, the staff was friendly, and oh man, them strawberries were oh so sweet. It's also really nice that the farm provides and lets us keep the buckets.”
