“This place is great! Has lots of open area! Enough people around for the right amount of dog socializing ! Lots of fun bridges, and walkways through the trees, leading to some wonderful waterside trails . Only 1 thing, if you plan to offleash, it is not fully fenced. White Ranch Park

Open until 10:00 PM

25303 Belcher Hill Rd, Golden, CO 80403, United States

“Fun and challenging place for a hike or bike ride, with beautiful views and plenty of trail! The climb up to the West trailhead is aggressive and rocky in parts, but well worth the trip back down, especially by mountain bike! Caution, the trails are not for the faint of heart or for cheap bikes... the bike-only trail has plenty of technical rock challenges, several significant trail drops, and lots of banking - bring good brakes and a snug helmet!!”

Betasso Preserve Trailhead
4.8
( 10 reviews )

Betasso Rd, Boulder, CO 80302, United States

“This is one of my favorite hikes in boulder. Theres a couple of routes you can choose from, its not too hard but still challenging and beautiful! If you get to the river, there's a cool old car that must've crashed there in the 50s or 60s. And it is like a famous attraction for the hike. Great for mountain biking.”

Hanging Lake
4.8
( 16 reviews )

Colorado 81601, USA

“I recently had the opportunity to hike to Hanging Lake, and I must say it's one of the most amazing hikes in Colorado! The trail is moderate with a 1000ft elevation gain over just 1.2 miles, making it accessible for most hikers. One of the highlights of this hike is the stunning waterfalls that you encounter along the way. The sound of rushing water and the beauty of these falls will keep your eyes busy and provide the perfect backdrop for your journey. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll need a reservation for this hike, which costs $12. This reservation system helps preserve the natural beauty of the area and ensures that it's not overcrowded. The real gem at the end of the trail is, of course, Hanging Lake itself. Its crystal-clear waters and unique geological formations make it a sight to behold. But don't stop there! After Hanging Lake, there's a quick 5-minute hike to another waterfall, and trust me, it's absolutely worth visiting. The entire experience is a nature lover's dream. Overall, if you're in Colorado and looking for a memorable outdoor adventure, make sure to put Hanging Lake on your list. It's a hike that combines natural beauty, a bit of a challenge, and the reward of discovering these magnificent waterfalls.”

Crystal Mill

( 10 reviews )

11520 Co Rd 3, Carbondale, CO 81623, United States

“What a gorgeous day, beautiful colors, and not a lot of traffic. Jeep trail road sign wasn't real visible and could use some refurbishing. Not too bad of a ride. If hiking, be prepared for rain at anytime.”

Glacier Gorge Junction Trailhead
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Bear Lake Rd, Estes Park, CO 80517, United States

“Great trailhead to the lake top hike. Need a timed entry for this region before 2pm. Parking is limited but there’s a shuttle. The waterfall hike part of the trail is tough but manageable. Beautiful place with lots of alpine lakes and even some glaciers at the top.”

1-70 East of, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601, United States

“We really enjoyed the hike! Beautiful- enough of a challenge, but not so difficult that someone that doesn't always hike can't do it. We hiked it in comfortable shoes, and jeans. My husband carried our 9 month old on his back just fine. We are fairly active in general, but not active hikers, it took us under 2 hours to hike it( about 25 minutes hanging out at the top) We thoroughly enjoyed the hike and beauty!”

Cottonwood Pass
4.9
( 10 reviews )

Colorado 81211, USA

“Awesome drive or bike ride. I rode the pass on my bike on an incredibly beautiful fall morning. The road itself is in very good shape, which usually can't be said about high altitude Colorado passes. The shoulder on the climb up from BV is also pretty wide which is nice. The views aren't quite as spectacular as some other passes but they are still fantastic, especially above treeline. I definitely recommend going when the aspens are nice and yellow. It's a good shortcut to get to crested Butte as well when the road is open during the warmer months.”

Treasure Falls
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Colorado 81147, United States

“Breathtaking. After a short, up-hill hike you’ll be rewarded! We were here in the winter so if you’re feeling unsure about hiking over snow and/or mud, take a walking stick. An amazing experience that shouldn’t be missed if you’re in the area.”

“A wonderful scenic drive but only if you have good tires. I hadn't been on this drive in 20 years & still just as beautiful. Take a picnic lunch & spend a couple of hours. Mother Nature at her finest. Enjoy all of the fly fisher people & rock climbers. Take it show & have your cameras ready. Admission is $9 per car.”

Rainbow Lakes Campground
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Nederland, CO 80466, United States

“It is very crowded on the weekends with dogs barking and primate families screaming. Very pretty setting with two interesting trails to explore right above the campground. The road to the campground is very bumpy even for an SUV but there were plenty of sedans that made it.”

“This is a great high-point to hike as a family. My husband and I hiked this with our 6-year old, 4-year-old (and 2-year-old in a carrier), and had a great time. It offered just the right blend of challenge, wilderness, and outstanding views.”

Kenosha Pass
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Colorado 80456, USA

“We made the 1.5 hr drive from Denver to see the fall colors at Kenosha Pass and it was so worth it. It’s a popular area but we had no problem getting parking. The Aspens were probably fullest last weekend but the leaves that were left were amazing. We will be back not just for fall hikes but anytime of year.”
